"Very Nice Container" This kitchen compost keeper works great for me. It holds about 1 weeks worth of scrape. It also looks nice on the counter. The charcoal filter must really work because there is no smell to it. "great buy" It took a while to get here, but once it did it has been great! good size. Keeps the smell and the flies down. so far so good! "Handy and looks great" All my friends and family want one now. Makes composting a lot easier when you have somewhere to put it (other than the garbage can). "Love it - great product" I've had this composter keeper for a few months and absolutely love it. My wife and daughters laughed at me at first - but after about a month they are doing a decent job of throwing scraps into the bin. I think the quality and look helps sell them on using it. But being able to keep it easily hidden and reached under the sink helps too. The filter works great - have never smelled anything - even after a week. Though I rarely leave stuff for more than a few days - as taking it out to the compost bin every few days is a ritual with my youngest daughter. This product is well made and is easy to clean - I just rinse it our in the garden and leave in the sun for a few minutes to dry before returing it to the kitchen. "Great Product" This compost keeper is very durable. I actually bought it after reading reviews on other canisters that people weren't as happy with. This one has held up nicely. There is absolutely no smell. It holds more than I would have thought - at least a week's worth of stuff (and we cook a lot). It looks great on the counter, with the small exception that stainless steel does show fingerprints and smudges, but this canister is easy to clean. I think it was well worth the the increased cost over inferior models.

"just what I wanted", I did my homework and read the reviews on this one and the ceramic one and decided from the reviews to purchase the stainless steel crock because the ceramic one breaks easily if you bump it and I am good at bumping things. I am not disappointed. I like the size. I don't have to dump it very often and it cleans up very nicely. Just use dishsoap and water. I had read that someone did not like it because of fruit flies. I have not had any problem with this at all. The filter works great. No smell at all. I don't think that anyone would be disappointed with it. It is very well made. "Practical Compost Keeper", I didn't carefully look at the dimensions before buying this product, and so was surprised at its size when I pulled it out of the box. It was larger than I expected. It's small enough to sit on the counter, but you wouldn't want it any bigger. The lid fits nicely and we have had no oder from the compost scraps. Also, it rises clean very easily after dumping into our outdoor compost pail. With stainless steel, the fingerprints show up on the outside of the pail, so I have to wipe it down from time to time, which is expected. "counter top compost can", Excellent product. "Love my new Norpro Stainless Steel Composter Keeper!", I received my new composter keeper a few weeks ago -- I LOVE it! We were using an old cookie jar with a lid, which was nasty to clean and difficult to dump. The new pail is fabulous...very easy to clean & a great size -- I only have to dump it once every four days (and we are a family of 5 eating lots of fruits & veggies), yet it is still small enough to sit on my counter and blends in with all my stainless steel appliances. The handle makes it so easy to carry/dump and even after four days with garlic and onion peels there is no odor. I highly recommend it. "HUH?", $40 (on sale) for a container that comes with holes in the lid, designed specifically so you have to keep buying charcoal filters forever. Does that really make sense? Spend $15 for a stainless steel cannister (or less for a plastic one) with a sealing lid. It will last for decades and--what a concept!--seals odors in for free. (Okay, it won't have that cute little bail handle. Isn't $25 a bit steep for a cute little handle?) If it smells, EMPTY IT! 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Attractive enough to leave on the kitchen counter", This is perfectly suited to my needs as a new composter. It is good-looking enough to leave out, which means I will use it for all the scraps, and the charcoal filter means I don't have to make a trip to the composter outside every time I have a few eggshells or vegetable peelings. It seems very well-made and sturdy, not likely to dent easily. "it works well", I used a ceramic composter for quite a while, and found this stainless steel one works much better. Material does'nt stick to it, and the top comes off/on much easier. "great countertop composter", I looked at several different countertop composters before purchasing this one. I wanted something I could put coffee grinds, veggie and fruit peelings, etc. into before transporting to my outside composter; however, I wanted something that looked great as well. This composter fits the bill. It is well made and has a great, clean-looking stainless finish. The charcoal filter in the lid keeps the contents from getting smelly in between trips to my outside composter. Well worth the cost. I am very pleased. "Kitchen composting", This product looks great on my counter, it matches my stainless applicance and is a great way to collect scraps until I can get to my yard waste cart. It's a great size for a single guy or small family. "Nice and Neat", The container keeps the kitchen clean & free of smells and fruit flies. It is easy to empty as well as clean. |
