"Excellent peeler", I bought this peeler as a replacement for another one of the same model I bought several (~5) years ago. (It was finally getting dull from its hundreds of trips through the dishwasher.) I really like these peelers: they are easy to handle and sharp. At the same time, I feel safer with it than I did with my mom's old dull one. Additionally, I prefer this form factor to the other style with the blade that goes across; this is much more comfortable. My only dislike is that it doesn't have a tool for removing potato eyes, but that's a minor nit.

"peaceful easy peelings", This peeler is great whether you are peeling a little or a lot. It has a super sharp blade and the slightly arched handle comforms to your palm to prevent strain in the hand and fingers. Bought this for my Mom who has arthritis in her fingers. She loves it! The lack of a scoop blade on the end for potato eyes is the only minus.

"Trudeau Peeler", Recently I was at a friend's beach house on the North Carolina shore. She had one of these and I absolutely LOVED it. My husband thought I was crazy, that is, until the friend sent us one. Now he is just as much a fan of this kitchen tool as I am. It truly does make a tedious chore a pleasure!

Do yourself a favor and purchase one. You'll see exactly what I mean! It's great for peeling tomatoes, apples, cucumbers, just about anything. I can't tell you what a difference it makes. Way to go Trudeau - you've hit a home run with this one!


"Ohmygawd - how to make a simple chore into a pleasure", Even after having used this superb little peeler, it is hard to believe the transformation. This comfortable utensil actually makes peeling a fruit or vegetable fun! Ok, the "fun" part would probably wear off if you had to peel a hundred of something, but still, what a wonder.

I believe the "secret" is the support of the blade at the farthestmost point, so applied pressure is spread across the blade from both ends, instead of just from the handle side.

MAKE SURE TO PEEL OFF THE PROTECTIVE TAPE from the blade before using.
