Others say...
"Not worth the time" This product does what it says it will do. But unfortunately it takes much more time than ironing and the water in the tank doesn't last very long. I tried steaming a cotton skirt and it took atleast 10 minutes and the wrinkles were still not completely gone. I am going to take it back to the store tomorrow. "Doesn't get the job done" This steamer really does not get the job done. When it isn't sputter water all over, it is fine to touch up a suit jacket. But it does a terrible job on shirts and pants. I've found that when I use this for dress shirts or khakis, it does not come close to removing the wrinkles, and I still have to iron. Terrible product. I would avoid. "get something better" This little steamer spits out water and the hose gets SUPER hot! I am looking to sell this one at our garage sale and upgrade. "Just what I was looking for!" I have tried three steamers now and this one is by far the best for me. It is easy to assemble, but doesn't take up a lot of space ( no pole) if you want to leave it out, or it will also fit in the bottom of a closet fully assembled. This steamer uses a small, separate over the door hanger instead of a pole. The hanger also worked on my towel bar. This steamer didn't leak at all for me and it heats up quickly, too! It holds plenty of water and is easy to fill and empty at my bathroom sink. The commercial steamer I tried was heavy, bulky, and had to be disassembled for storage due to the pole. Filling it was awkward and more complicated. An iron style vertical steamer/iron i bought didn't hold enough water for one garment! My iron style steamer also leaked all over the floor and garment - I couldn't be happier with my new conair steamer- I'm buying one for my adult kids. We all HATE ironing and are excited about this convenient, efficient, AND inexpensive steamer. "Amazon is extremely unreliable in delivering this product!" If you want this product, get it somewhere else. Amazon claims 3 to 6 week delivery, but it's now been 8 weeks and I was just told not to hold my breath. It was supposed to arrive this week and Amazon sent no notice that it wouldn't, but Amazon "customer service" just told me they have no idea when it will be shipped! "Tough luck" is their attitude.

What our customer's say! "Just Plain Awesome !!", Purchased at Walmart. I purchased this Conair Fabric Steamer months before I opened it to give it a fair try only to regret not opening it sooner. It is just amazing. Now I can only hope it keeps working for a while before I go from impressed to disappointed. Garments iron with just a stroke or two of the arm depending on the kind of fabric. The heat/steam is intense so be careful not to burn yourself as I did a few times till I got the hang of it. It might be too soon to say but for now I'm Loving it and keeping my fingers crossed. "Great Value for the Money !!!!", I love this product. It works great and is so affordable. I don't think it takes too long to heat up at all and the hose losens up after the first two uses. It is so portable that I would consider taking this on a road trip if need be. I no longer iron the old fashion way. This is so much quicker than ironing. The only thing is I wish it did work longer than 20 minutes. That is the only con I have with the product. But if you are just getting an outfit ready for work this is all you need. If you are doing more at a shot, then you will need to refill it. "Not bad for 25 bucks", Conair GS4 Compact Fabric Steamer Previously owned another Conair steamer that was 3x's the price of this model. Loved it and owned it for over 6 years. When we needed to replace it, did not want to spend another $70. Read reviews on the GS4 and was worried about the reports of it spitting water out. Loved our prior steamer and since it was also a Conair, figured we would give it a try. First use.....great! No problems at all. Second use.....water was spitting all over the place. Moved the unit from the top of a dresser to the floor so that the hose was stretched out and attached to the over the door hanger (provided with the steamer) and wella.....perfect.....fixed the problem. So.......this is a great steamer for the price and the water will not spit out if you keep the hose upright when in use. "you get what you pay for!!!!!", I researched steamers and read many reviews. I decided to purchase this one and it worked great the first time and the second time was a desaster, it drenched my clothes and my floor. I also burned my thumb. I would not recommend this steamer to anyone. :( "It does what it's supposed to", I've read some of the reviews about this product and the biggest complaint seems to be that the head sometimes gets water on the garment. I only get spots when I try and use it on something laid flat because the water condenses in the head. It will also condense in the hose and if the hose drops below the steamer it gurgles. This really is not a tabletop item, it has to be used on the floor. I've used it on just about all my cloths: khakis, polos, button-down shirts and it does a reasonably good job. If I have one complaint about it, it is that the cord is too short. and with the steamer on the floor, it will barely reach the top of an item hung using the over-the-door hook. I also wish it had a way to fill the reservoir (which is only 8 oz.) with out removing the hose. Overall, I think for the price that I paid, I got my moneys worth, after all it's just a tea kettle with a hose. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Piece of Garbage", I bought this so that I could steam iron out the wrinkles on my linen curtains. This steamer was awkward to use and kind of scary actually. Bottom line is that it didn't get the wrinkles out of even the lightest fabric. I'm returning this immediately. I would never recomend this item to anyone. "Caution: Terrible Product", I curse the day I bought this awful product. The first time I used it I plugged it in, left the room for a few minutes, and came back to found it had leaked water ALL OVER my laminate floor.......enough water that it warped the floor a bit. It leaks every time.....now I just know better than to put it on anything but tile or concrete. To make matters worse, it doesn't do a good job steaming clothes. There is no way to control the steam and it sputters water over everything. I had a little handheld Sunbeam that quit working after a few years that did a much better job than this piece of junk. I hate this product and will buy a new steamer as soon as it's in my budget again. "That's what I get for being a cheap-o", I figured I'd save money and buy this steamer as opposed to something better constructed, more effective, and easier to user (and closer to $200). It took me ten minutes to steam a plain blouse and not very well at that. To add insult to injury there was hot water sputtered all over my blouse and on me. I'm bummed. I'm going to return this misbehaving water spout as soon as I can beat it back into its box. Then I'm going to do some fact finding before I dump my salary into another steamer and I suggest y'all do the same! And if you buy this POC I recommend wearing oven mits and blocking out a good chunk of your valuable time to get through your crinkled wardrobe. Good Luck! "Big Pain In The Neck This Thing!", I used this twice and it was 2 times too many. For a larger steamer it doesn't remove wrinkles as well as I would like. It was cumbersome which would be okay if it was a steam demon but it didn't perform well. The hose became stuck on both occasions so it took me 15 minutes just to get the hose off to fill the chamber. It totally calcified after one use, sitting for 2 weeks. If Conair were smart they would allow the entire white hood to be removed for proper cleaning and emptying. My unit also spit out water like mentioned in some of the other reviews. Disgusted I threw this thing out. I know a hand held smaller unit will work just as well as this dumb thing. "ConAir steamer", I've had the product for a month. Used it everyday. Item works as promissed. i can steam 2 shirts on a full tank of water. ![]() |
