"Knife Noobie"
I pulled this set out of my mailbox at 2pm on a Saturday, and by 3pm, I was happily "air-slicing" apples with any of 25 completely sharpened knives. It takes about 5 minutes to open the container and see what's in the box. They include a quick start sticker on the inside of the box.

There was a CD and a book, but it was bad enough that Rachael Ray was going to be getting some of my money, having to suffer through a RR-narrated "congratulationsthanksremembernotto" had absolutely 0 appeal when a drawer full of knifes was waiting. So I took a cheap OXO knife that I've had for 12 years and ran it through the sharpener stage. That seemed to go well, so I ran another cheap 10" knife through about 10 times. After that, I went through my new forged set, and I thought that was it.

I tried cutting some apples, and it was much better than before, but then I noticed the honing fingers. Went through each knife about 12 times each with the honing fingers, and I could not believe that I was using the same knives.

I still wonder if the $29 dollar sharpener also includes all three stages, but I really like how sturdy the handle is on this one, and I think I would have been very happy with just the sharpener if I hadn't tried the honing blade. Until the hone, the blades were sharp, but the honing adds some sort of "micro-serration", and I'm amazed that I can pull a sharp blade across fruits with such ease..

"This thing can't slice a tomatoe!!"
After many years of old dull kitchen knives I went to our local kitchen shop and purchased a very good and expensive knife which came with a very techie sharpener. I tuned up all my other knifes and was successfuly cutting tomatoes. I was a happy chopper.

After moving to Maui for part of the year I again needed that techie sharpener. Voila!! Searching and there it was on Amazon and all the better it was a product endorsed by one of my Cooking Chanel favourites, Rachel Ray.

An all around good and a very complete and efficient system. No more cutting or chopping frustrations.

Thank You Lorraine Hawe

"This is a good product for sharpening knives; I like it!"
This system is easy and effective. I recommend it highly. It is quite easy to sharpen in just a few seconds.

"Does the Job"
Sharpens very well and extremely easy to use. I keep it on counter to use every time I use a knife.

"Not an expert, but very pleased anyway!"
Reading some of the other reviews makes me believe that I'm probably the least experienced in sharpening tools. I'm just a home cook; not a professional or expert. But I found this product extremely easy to use and I have to say, it took my most damaged knife and put it razor sharp in no time at all. The instructions are easy to follow. If I have one (very minor) concern, it would be the plastic handle. It catches when I try to rotate it open and I'm afraid it might break fairly easy. I just leave it open all the time. Other than that - I would recommend this sharpener absolutely!

What our customer's say!

"Best Sharpening system i've owned", This is one of those products that works as advertised... the other night, I sharpened a dozen of my kitchen knives in 35 minutes while watching a movie. Every one, from the smallest paring knife to the largest chef's knife will shave hair (dry). Incredible... and using the knives is just like it was when they were brand new. And the design is so simple. Never really did keep an edge like this with a steel or a ceramic whet.

only thing is now I have to warn people that all the knives are __sharp__.
I am recommending this system to everybody I talk to.

"Best Sharpener System Ever", The Rachael Ray Tech Edge Pro Knife Sharpeneing System is the best available, and it is simple and efficient. Results are fast and professional. I don't use any other sharpener now. There is no need to do so. I almost didn't order the system because it is pricey, but it is worth it in retrospect because of its speed and consistent professional results. Life's too short to use dull knives or spend a lot of time getting them sharp.

"Awesome!", I have never felt comfortable sharpening my knifes. Therefore they became dull and hard to use, not to mention dangerous. I finally can use my high end knifes without despair since I have a daily honing and sharpening system from Furi & Rachael Ray. It's easy to use and doesn't take up tons of storage space so I can keep it handy for everyday use.

"Tech Edge Pro Knife Sharpening System", Not as good as I thought it would be for the price, but it was OK.

"Best Knife Sharpener...PERIOD!", I have tried them all--Crock Sticks, honing stones, sharpening steels, ceramic wheels, and electric sharpeners.(oh boy, they were bad!) I now have the best edges ever--I have very good knives (Werther, Henkels, etc.) and have always had OK edges, but wanted better. My father was a professional chef (Waldorf Astoria in the 1930's) and he could use a steel very well. NOT ME! I have re-done all of my pocket knives, all of my kitchen knives, and all of my neighbors, too!
If you know how to judge an edge, you will quickly learn the fine points of using this system. I have given away all of my old stuff.
Expensive, but worth it for keeping good knives ready to use!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"High Dollar-High Value", Expensive, but worth it. I have tried for years to keep all our kitchen knives sharp, but with very poor results. Any number of $10-$20 knife sharpeners have come and gone and we still had a drawer of dull knives. The first time I tried this sharpening system I became a believer! You can make your $6 K-Mart knife perform like a scalpel and your good knives will be better than new.

"foolproof sharpening", After manually sharpening knives for many years, it is rather embarrasing to admit that this clever system does a much better job than I have ever achieved manually.

"greatest Sharpening System", I've owned many sharpening devices and I have, before the FURI knife sharpening system, used a steel to keep my Chicago Cutlery honed. I have a set of FURI knives and my old (22 years Chicago set). This system completely renewed the old Chicago knives and keeps the FURIs razor sharp. Well worth the money.

"Furi TechEdge Pro Knife Sharpening System", 1. Expensive.
2. Fatally flawed (as of January 2007)

The sharpener system works well for my knives BUT the method of attaching the rotating handle to the base is fatally flawed. Both sharpeners I received had to be returned after 1-2 uses because the handle separated from the base holding the fingers. If Furi redesigns the base and handle I'd buy another one.

"Best Sharpener ever!", I've tried almost every sharpener made, from manual to electric, and none come close to the TechEdge Pro. As soon as I received it, I sharpened all of my straight edged knifes, and the edges came out far superior than when new. As I do the majority of the cooking, all knifes are used on a daily basis, and I have yet to have to even run one through the honer. Great product, and I definitely recommend it to everyone who has "kitchen duty!"
