"This Fan totally Sucks Don't get one!!!" I tried this fan for not a week and it completely stopped working period!! I tried a replacement and the same thing happened in just one day of operation!!!! Go get something else not by this manufacuture Lasko! "lasted one season" worked great for a couple of months, then the whole thing died. I tried taking it apart to look for loose connections, didn't see any. Getting it fixed is the price of another fan... "It functions well, but what is with the beeping?" I'm kind of surprised only one other person has mentioned this *bleeping* beeping. It makes a great product completely average to me. The fan works well. The timer is a luxurious option that I have yet to use. The air output is sufficient. The oscillation doesn't click or creak like some of them do, but every time you push a button: BEEEEEP! Sometimes you need to adjust a fan at night. So why make your product's function sound loud enough to wake up the neighbors? Conclusion: great fan for the living room, not so great for the boudoir. "Remote not as useful as I'd like" You can use the remote to change the fan speed and turn the oscillation on and off, but you can't turn the fan on and off with the remote (unless you want to try to set the sleep timer when you can't see what you're doing). The fan itself works very well, and I really like the tower shape since I have it sitting in a doorway. It doesn't move as much air as the Lasko #4924 High Velocity Blower, but it's a LOT quieter on high speed. "Lasko 2530 - Faulty remote on two towers in a row. Be careful." I bought a second Lasko 2530 tower when the remote on the first one didn't work. The remote on the second didn't work either. It is a major hassle to repack these fans in their boxes and haul them to the post office for shipping. I emailed Lasko to find a solution but no help was available. Fortunately, because I bought from Amazon I will be reimbursed for shipping, which is not true of other vendors. Be careful. PS.. I like the volume of air and quietness of the unit enough to go for the 42" model, only from Amazon, in case I need to return it. I posted these remarks under a seperate offering for this fan but it doesn't show up here, until I repost it.... I guess we have to look at every product offered to get all the feedback on the article we are interested in?

What our customer's say! "Needless Beep", The fan's industrial design is compact and sleek. The build quality is sub-par - rubber pads that keep the unit from scuffing the floor have all fallen off, the fan makes an annoying ticking sound for about 10 minutes and then mysteriously goes away. But the single worst thing about this fan is that the engineers designed it to beep whenever a button is pressed. The fan beeps to turn on, beeps to change speeds, beeps to oscillate, and most annoyingly - it beeps when you turn it off! Why? Parents who would consider buying this to use around sleeping children beware. The only time it doesn't beep is during auto-off in sleep mode - mercifully. I do not recommend this fan. "Cooling air with low noise", I bought this fan for those days that were just not hot enough to turn on the AC or not cold enough to sleep without some cooling. Because I needed it for my bedroom, I was willing to pay extra for a quiet fan. After some research on Amazon and other sites, I could not find any sort of index or grade system by the manufacturers or sellers that would allow for comparing how quiet different fans were. So I took a risk with this model. After almost 2 years, I can say that I am very satisfied with it. I only use it on the lowest speed; it generates enough air flow for me. The noise at this setting is also minimum and I can easily sleep with it. Moreover, I do not think that the noise from the second and third speeds is very much different than from the lowest one. The remote control is excellent and an exercise in simplicity. Overall, I am very satisfied with this fan and I hope to continue with it for several more years. "Tower fan quiet, powerful, not so remote-controlled", I researched fans in depth before I settled on the highly recommended Lasko Elite Wind Tower Fan. After using the fan for nearly a month, I am extremely pleased with this product. The fan is both sturdy and elegant, with a plastic body that resembles brushed metal, modern clean lines, and a display that is professional and easy to read from across the room. It's best selling point, however: an ultra compact design. Because it rotates on a tower pedestal, you can place it in very tight spaces without knocking into furniture or blocking open paths in a room or hallway. Also, I was surprised how useful the hand grip in the back was for transporting the fan around the house. We use it everywhere, so luckily it is lightweight and very portable. It has three speeds, the lowest enough to maintain a comfortable bedroom, the highest enough for a large room on a hot day. You can save energy - especially when using the fan at night - with the easy-to-use timer. As with any fan, it produces some white noise, but at low levels. I was accustomed to the hurricane decibels of box fans that rattle and blow in your window. By contrast, the Lasko Tower Fan has a soft, pleasant whir. I'd give the fan five stars, except I have had issues with the remote control. Although I replaced the batteries twice, the remote control only works 10-20% of the time. Not a huge problem, but it does reduce functionality from across the room. Overall, despite the remote control issue, I highly recommend the Lasko Elite Wind Tower Fan. "Lasko 2530", Have had great luck with the product, works well. Great product and well built, have had no issues thus far. I have owned this product for about 3 months or so. "Works well for a little while...", I bought this and spent the extra $30 over the cheaper tower fans thinking my price premium would buy me a longer life out of the fan. Turns out i was wrong. I had the same oscillating/clicking issue after just a month of use. now the oscillating gear is done and it either makes loud creaks & noises on oscillate, or it is stationary. At least it still works though! it isn't as quiet as i'd expect either. Having seen some friends' fans from Crane & Honeywell, i know this could be quieter. Lasko isn't one of the better brands, there is just so many more of them out there... ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Nice", Have had it for a few years now, still works reliably and fairly quietly. The black labels on half the buttons have worn off, and it's a little dusty. It's actually on right now! The timer function is great for having it shut off a half hour after you go to bed. "Works well but not for long", I had this fan a few years back. It worked well for atleast a year. Ultimately I got rid of it b/c I was moving and the oscillating became steadily more noisy. I tried to see if anything was catching in the motor, nothing was. I used WD40 to lubricate it....didn't work. I wouldn't recommend this one as a long term solution to air circulation. "Just overpriced for what you get.", My quick opinion in case you don't like to read, get a cheap [..]fan, and you'll get just as much out of it as this one. For a longer review.. This is my first tower fan and I'm not impressed at all. It looks kinda cool, futuristic, fancy, or whatever, has a remote, it works, but it's nothing spectacular and definitely not worth the price. 1 star for looks\remote. 1 star because it works. As far as being a huge space saver? Not really. I was expecting maybe the girth of a coke can, not a basketball, and 40 inches just seems taller actually seeing it in person. Compared to other fans that blow around the same amount of air, I'd say this would be in the larger size category. Performance-wise, it's about as powerful as your average older, cheap, small desk fans and makes about the same noise. Not silent, but nowhere near being loud.. nothing that'll make you turn the tv's volume up. As a fan, it works and I'm content with it, although I was expecting a little more power for the price. If I had a do-over on this purchase, I'd go with your average every day $10-20 fan before this one. The only thing I prefer about this one is the look and the remote is a nice touch, but neither of those are worth the price, in my opinion. I could buy atleast 3 or so fans that work just as well for the amount I spent on this one fan. The only reason I'd suggest this fan to anyone is if they have money to blow and the look or the remote alone is worth the extra $50-60. Also, those looking for technical information, which was only obtainable by contacting the manufacturer, I'll post the FPM ratings for this fan. For whatever reason, the fan's measured in FPM, when all fans I've ever seen were measured in CFM. There are no decibel\noise ratings, however.. They claimed "there are too many factors involved in this process", blah blah. Funny how most other manufacturers seem to do just fine providing these ratings for their fans, though.. Quoted from an e-mail from [..]: "Model 2530's FPM: Low = 760 Medium = 860 High = 950 Disclaimer: These are not HVI certified numbers." "Excellent floor fan", I've owned the Lasko tower fan with remote control for nearly four years now. I use it every day in the summer and spring. I've never had to change the batteries in the remote in all that time, and it works as well now as it did on the first day of use. The base had to be installed on the fan when it was taken out of its box. My husband did that and said it wasn't hard. I've used all the various settings on the fan, including oscillation, and it works quietly on all settings. I've used it in both my home office and in my bedroom, and I ended up keeping it in my my bedroom because its 40-inch height allows the air it blows to easily reach a person lying on a bed. Also, if I get cold in the middle of the night, the fan's remote allows me to turn off the fan without having to get up. In spite of its height, the fan is light and easy to move. It has an indented hand-hold at its top which makes it easy to pick up the fan and move it from room to room or store it in the garage during the winter. Based on my experience with this fan, I would be happy to purchase another one just like it if the need ever arose. "DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY", The company did not even notify me that there was an error on their system. I had to follow up to figure out that my product was "STUCK" in their system and has not even shipped it. The shipment was a month late. I HIGHLY advise to stay away from purchasing anything from this company. They have sense of customer service. ![]() |
