Others say...
"Waffles for Sunday Brunch are a tradition" This is the best product. And, I'm so glad I read all the reviews before I bought my waffle maker. Don't waste time getting a small one. I bought the Cuisinart waffle maker that makes 6 at a time. In 10 minutes I can make 12 waffles for Sunday brunch. We love them and if we have leftovers I freeze them and put them in the toaster for snacks. I've never been disappointed with Cuisinart products. "Great for the whole family!" We read many reviews before buying this waffle maker, and we have to say that most of bad reviews are inaccurate. The handle is not too small, it's just the right size, and there is little chance that you'll burn yourself unless you are careless. There is a trick to dispersing the batter so that it doesn't leak out, and if it does leak out in first few pours before you get the hang of it, let it bake on so it's easier to clean later. Best bet, start with smaller amounts of batter, and work your way up. This waffle maker makes the best waffles, and it's great that you don't have to set any timers. The machine beeps when it's ready, and it beeps again to let you know you have to check the waffles and take them off the grill. The beaping takes some getting used to, but you can tone it out when you're among family. We like crispier waffles in our family, and this made crispy waffles all around, and yet they were also soft and fluffy in the center - we all agreed they were the best waffles we ever had! And there was no fighting over who got the next batch because they were done quickly, and there were plenty to go around. "Quick Waffles" This waffle machine makes it much easier to make a meal for the family in short time. The batter did go over the edges a few times before I figured out how much batter to use but that's fine. It's a waffle maker - it happens! Clean up was fine. Best feature was the quick cooking time. I had 24 waffles for dinner and 24 for the freezer in no time. "Cuisinart 6-Slice Waffle Iron" I love my Cuisinart WAF-6 Waffle Iron, so much so-that I bought 2 of them! We are really into 100% whole wheat waffles with fresh fruit on top. I use two irons at once just so I can speed up the process. I make different ingredients per batch for the kids (nuts, extract, spices, chopped fruits). Not everyone likes the same, so when I do break out the irons (about 1 or 2 days a month) I cook, ziploc bag each one separately, write flavor on bag, then freeze. The kids grab one they like and put them in the toaster. They even eat them without syrup - like a cookie. ***A little TIP: Do NOT refrigerate whole wheat, it becomes rubbery within hours. From freezer to toaster is best. "An excellent waffle maker" We are very happy with the 6 waffle maker by Cuisinart. It will serve my family well.

What our customer's say! "Where do I return", After first use, I am very unhappy with this product....the waffle is still welded on and I cannot get it off. The unit is unusable. Who do I contact...Amazon or Crisinart? "A little messy", I looked at various waffle irons and finally decided on the Cuisinart. After it arrived, we made waffle batter and poured it into the iron. It spilled over very quickly and came out the front of the machine where the temperature dial is located--not a good design feature (and hard to clean up). After this I was not happy with my purchase. After waiting a few weeks (we don't eat waffles very frequently) we tried again. This time I didn't pour batter towards the front of the iron and that worked much better. Bottom line, machine makes good waffles but the secret is the amount of batter and not pouring it towards the front of the iron. "Cuisinart Waffle Iron", Waffle maker heats quickly and it is not as hard to clean as others have said. I didn't have a lot of run over when putting in the batter. The biggest problem is that the waffles stick to the "NO STICK" surface. I have tried spraying them with Pam, but that only made the waffles not crispy. At times they stick to both plates and pull apart when opened. I have only used it twice, so maybe the sticking problem will get better with use. "Update to previous review!", I bought this waffle iron for my husband for Father's Day. We used it for the first time this morning. We followed the exact recipe from the instruction booklet. Although it made way too many waffles for our needs, they turned out excellent. The outside was crispy, and the inside was tender and fluffy. Would prefer a recipe with less oil and will start to experiment from here on out. We do have some gripes, however. The instructions said to pour 2 cups of batter onto the iron. MISTAKE! It made the biggest mess ever. We had batter oozing out all over the maker, the counter, and down the front of the cabinet. By the time we made the final waffle we found that the right amount is about 1 and 1/4 cup of batter. This creates very little oozing. Cleaning the unit is a total pain in the neck, as other reviewers have stated. The griddle portion itself is indeed non-stick and was no trouble. The clean up of the exterior was the tricky part. We, too, used toothpicks, a (new) toothbrush, and lots of wet cloths to get it clean. There was batter all over the control knob, underneath the unit, and in all the tiny cracks and seams. I agree with another reviewer in saying, "Cuisinart, you should know better!" The end result was very tasty waffles. We'll use this iron again for special occasions and brunches, but it's certainly not something we'll do on a weekly basis. Final analysis: Good product, start with smaller portions of batter and build up to the right amount, be prepared for spills and time spent on cleaning up. UPDATE: As of 9/21/08, we're very disappointed with this product. After several uses, it no longer keeps the heat. When the ready beep goes off, the waffles are nowhere near done. They must go through at least 2 cycles before they are brown! We will be returning this waffle iron and search for a new one! Downgrade this product to 1 star. "Disappointing for a very expensive Cuisinart product!", When I found a traditional waffle iron that makes more than one at a time - I had to have it! Paid big big money for it and wish I had bought 2 single waffle irons instead! Jeesh. It's cute, but designed poorly. It overflows onto the control knob and is full of cracks and crevices that don't clean up easily or quickly. Come on Cuisinart - you should know better. Recommendation - don't waste your money. Try 2 single irons at a fraction of the cost and don't ever plan to join your family when having a waffle breakfast. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Pain in the neck to clean!", The plates are not removable, buyer beware! It is really hard to clean this "non stick" waffle maker. If I had known any better I would have bought a waffle iron with removable plates that I could just throw in the dish washer. "Pain in the neck to clean!", The waffle maker makes waffles just fine but it is really a hassle to clean. I don't understand why the company did not make the waffle plates snap out so you can throw them in the dishwasher. The cleanup actually deters my husband and I from using it. I would not have bought it if I had known the plates were not removeable. "Not bad...", I read all the reviews and decided to try this waffle iron for my husband. The first time we used it, it made a mess. Batter leaked out everywhere, especially in front, which ran down into the control dial. Not a very good design there. We had to use a toothpick to get batter out of the dial and from the trim around the sides. The second time we used less batter, making our waffles thinner, and did better, but some still oozed out. Overall, it works well. "Very Good Waffles with No Fuss", I received this waffle maker for Christmas and tried it out with my favorite batter that I have used for 38 years with a previous waffle maker. I sprayed the grids with cooking spray and poured in 2 cups of (a thick) batter, spreading it evenly with a spatula before closing the lid. There were only a few small leaks that I quickly wiped away with a damp dishcloth. The waffles were evenly cooked, released easily from the grids, and tasted great. After I was finished and the iron had cooled, I brushed the crumbs off the grids with a basting brush and put it away. So much for clean-up. I froze the extra waffles and reheated them later in a toaster; they also tasted great. I am well pleased with this appliance. Now, if it lasts for 38 years as my previous one did... "There are better waffle irons", I make waffles for our family almost every Sunday. After being married over 20 years, that's a lot of waffles and I've gone through several waffle irons. We keep two waffle irons for when we have guests over. My family saw this big one and thought we could reduce down to one. They bought it for me for Christmas (almost a year ago). I've used it a lot over the past year but it frustrates me every time I use it. I sometimes pull out the old one (from a garage sale) and use it instead. My issues have been the same mentioned in other reviews. 1. It doesn't fill completely. If you pour batter down the center it won't fill into the corners. All of the previous square waffle irons I've owned don't have this problem. 2. The batter comes out the center. A big reason it doesn't completely fill is that the batter ends up squeezing out of the center section, both in front all over the controls and out the back. 3. The temperature settings are not correct. To get what I would call a medium (golden brown) waffle you have to have it almost on the very lightest setting. I can get reasonable success by making the batter slightly thicker than normal and then spreading it thinly over the bottom plate and allowing it to cook slightly before I close it. The corners still don't rise as expected so it's not the result I would like but at least I don't get the messy overflows. Not recommended. ![]() |
