"Excelent Can Opener!"
The Can Opener works great. The seller shipped the item fast. I would buy again.

"Can't charge in charger"
Why in the world would anyone build a charging base when it is impossible to charge the can opener in it?
Perhaps some one in the engineering department could explain that.

"Black and Decker Gizmo"
this opener is easier for older individuals to use who have common age-related hand conditions. However, the charger set up is somewhat difficult to use. The charges do not last for a busy week's work of use as we recycle all cans.

"Returned item but never received replacement"
I returned this item to the seller because I wanted the Gizmo with an adapter. I wrote that on the invoice when I returned it but have not heard from the seller. This makes me leary about ordering anything else I see posted by them. I returned it to their Fairlawn, NJ location.
Not pleased with their failure to respond.

"Cute, but not worth it"
I've had two of these things. I bought the first Gizmo, and it lasted less than a year. The second, a gift, lasted a little longer -- then it just stopped charging. Even before it died, it took a lot of effort to fit it onto the can, especially a narrow one. We didn't use it all that often, either, what with most cans having flip-top lids. I do like the way you can save space by hanging the charger unit from a cabinet, but I can't recommend this product. I'm surprised B&D is still making it.

What our customer's say!

"Love My Gizmo!", I love my Gizmo. I have not had any problems setting it on any can and getting it to work. it is a little heavy for small cans but I am fully capable of holding them while it does it thing.

The blade pops off for easy cleaning - sometimes a little to easy, but I would rather it just come off then have to fight with it to get it clean. I have never had a problem with charging it. I have had it for about 2 years now and it stays charged for about a month at a time with moderate use. If I notice it getting low I plug it in for a day and it's good for another month or so.

I don't know anything about the under the counter mount as I don't care to have it attached like that. I prefer it out of sight. I leave it on the counter to charge it over night.

The only problems I have had with it is I can't find another one in local stores. I have wanted to get one for my mother and have only found the one touch brand and it looks cheaply made... I will be ordering her one now that I have found them!

"BD Gizmo GC200 Can Opener", The Gizmo GC200 can opener works well. We replaced an Eco cordless can opener with this one. Overall, we are happy with the way it operates. It should be mounted on a wall for it to look its best. We did not mount it because the procedure looked too involved and we did not trust it to stay on the wall considering how you have to unsnap it to take the Gizmo out to open a can. We thought after time the plaster holding it would loosen, so we keep it on the counter. It definately looks odd that way, but its usable. Using it on very small cans can be a little ackward to manage. My husband is a left hander and it is definately not left hander friendly.

"gizmos don't last long", I was very fortunate to be able to return my first Gizmo because the battery would not hold a charge. THe store very nicely gave me another and after a few months it too will not hold a charge. Went back to the store but without the box (they kept the first one to return it in) they told me I was out of luck. I think I will return to using the old fashioned hand held holder as long as I can.

"Gizmo EM100 Electric Can Opener", I just purchased the Gizmo EM100. After reading the instructions, I realized I bought the lesser model as this model does not come with the base. I was originally disappointed with the fact it does not have a charging base, but after reading the reviews stating the base does not serve as the actual charger, I'm okay with the stand alone unit. What really bothers me is that the box states the opener has a " quick lid release" inplying that you do not have to touch the lid. The unit does not have a quick lid release as advertised. In fact, the magnetic lid holder looks completely different from the pictures on the box. The company that imports this item uses the Black and Decker name under a license. I have multiple B&D products which I am very happy with but am extremely dissapointed with this item. I will be returning it without even bothering to try it.

"BAD BATTERY BLUES", The battaries die after two months.
My wife wants her hand crank back.
Not a good deal.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Good roduct", I have just had this opener for a short time but it works fine on the size cans I have used so far. I have problems with my hands & this machine helps get the job done easier. I especially like the fact that it can be used right on the can without hanging under the counter. Very satisfied.

"Gizmo Can opener", This is one of the best electric can openers their are. My son bought me one about a year ago an I bought him one for Christmas. Love the fact you don't have to use batteries, it has a plug in charger.. Wonder tool for kitchen. Very easy to use.

"hard to figure out", The opener was hard to figure out but once I got the nack of it, It worked great!

"Great little tool", I've had my Gizmo for 8 years (bought it when they first came out) and it finally pooped out on me. I am buying another on Amazon and saw that it got some sad reviews so I thought I'd share.

You stick it on the can and the thing goes around all by itself. This means you can move on the other things while it opens!! If you are a multi-tasker in the kitchen (or last minute & always in a hurry cause your peop's are hungry) you can imagine how great this is!!

Once you get the hang of how to put the can under the Gizmo, there are no trouble's, even with stiff hands... happy Gizmo'ing!

"Black & Decker - Black Gizmo", Looks great in my updated kitchen! Already have a white one but did not match the new kitchen.
