Others say...

"Excellent Quality & Construction, Very Sharp."
These knives are hands-down, just awesome. I read one reviewer say they weren't sharp enough. What?? Not sharp enough?? What do you need to do; slice atoms in half?? I used one of these knives for the first time on a tomato today, and it performed excellently. Looking forward to trying them out on steaks, as the last Farberware set I had, even the serrated knife couldn't make it through certain sections when removing the fat before cooking. I've gone through two sets of Farberware, and after years of use they tend to break at front end of the handle because the tang is not wide enough and rots through eventually. Kind of dangerous, really, because if you put a lot of force on one like I did the other day, and it breaks, you can actually cut yourself on the end of the knife still stuck in whatever it was that you were cutting. As for the construction of these Ginsu knives....hold one in your hand and the weight alone tells you that you just got a set of superior-quality knives. Besides that, we all know that the Japanese have always had a great talent making knives and swords throughout history, and now I can see that they still do!! Buy them. Don't bother looking at other brands.

9/22/08 Update - I cut some fresh steaks out with these things, and WOW....it's like cutting through butter. My Farberware's were a chore doing the same task, which makes them junk in my eyes. If you've ever cut fresh steak; you know that intense fat that just won't cut through enough?? Well, these steaks cut the fat right out, no problem. Very satisfied!!

"Decent solution for the price"
I bought these knives about a month ago. Definitely happy I bought them. There are only two things I dislike about them...the first is that they rust easily, so you'll want to hand wash them (not a big deal). The other thing I dislike is that all the knives in the set are serrated. This is annoying when it comes to chopping, dicing, etc small veggies.

"Great Knifes!!"
I just wanted to say I got these knives quicker then expected and they work great. The look and feel high end. I have bartended for about 9 years and cut end less limes, lemons, pineapples and oranges. This is the perfect knife for it. I had a dull knife for a while and my hand was starting to get tired and feel the effects of that. But now i look forward to slicing the fruit so easily and am not tired at all after. They also look pretty and i can't believe the price for the quality!!

"Great knifes Great price!"
For only $40.00 my husband and I think it's a great value. We're only had them for a short time, but have enjoyed using the entire set.

"Good set of knives"
These set of knives are good. We have been searching for some good ones lately, as the ones we bought at walmart (faberware, etc...) did not really work at all.
We like these and so far no complaints.

What our customer's say!

"Great Quality ", Very nice set. Looks great in any kitchen. The sissors, however, are cheap-looking compared to the knives. You would expect more. I replaced the sissors with a pair from another knife set. The knives are definately a great buy.

"Sharp knives, makes you love cooking!", I love this knife set, I'd had these for over a month. They were much cheaper than the ones I was looking at at Target and Kohls.

I read the other reviews for this set and always dry them by hand before putting them back in their black holder. I don't want these to tarnish! They look great in the kitchen and work wonderfully. I'm actually very picky when it comes to these items in my kitchen and I was very surprised and pleased with their functionality and appearance. I'd buy this set again (in case tarnishing does occur), but only of course if the tarnish does not appear within the first year. If this does tarnish on you the first year, then don't repurchase.

"Happy with my purchase", I purchased my knife set a few weeks ago and they are great. I wash the knives by hand and dry them immedialty. I read some reviews were people out them into a washing machine and they rusted so I wont do that. It takes a second to just wash and put it away. If I get any other emails asking for an update I will let you guys know but this is a great knife set. Cuts nicely and I no longer cut my fingers with a dull knife.

"Wow! These are great!", I literally said "wow" when I first cut into a potato! It was so smooth and easy...My set came with a complimentary Santoku knife - and wow ... everything -from potatoes and apples and onions - just became 100x easier to cut. The bread knife is great - it cut through one of those "natural" homemadish loaves without leaving a heap of crumbs underneath, and the smaller knives are great too. I'm haven't sampled any of those more expensive sets, but I am an avid cook - and these knives just made cutting everything in my kitchen so much easier and more fun. Watch out though, they are sharp! I've cut myself twice already =(... no complaints though, these really are wonderful ...

Also, I have put them in the dishwasher and haven't noticed any rust spots.

"Heavy and rusty", I bought this set seeing an overall good user review. The cons I can see are:
* Seems a bit heavy to me.
* The knives also don't seem that much sharp. The serrated blades are not helpful for me. I find the the Santoku knife helpful though for regular use.
* After getting them out of dishwasher, I could see yellow stains, though it says dishwasher safe.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Not sharp enough", I thought they would be sharper..They look real nice, but I doubt that they will never need to be sharpened. I am a bit disappointed.

"Love these knives!", So much value for the money! They're sharp, sharp, sharp and when they're no longer sharp, they're so relatively inexpensive that I'll just buy another set.

"Chop Chop Crappy Block", I looked at a lot of reviews before buying knives. In no way am I a professional cook but I needed something to do the job. I ended up getting these and so far the knives are great, they work well and look great. My only complaint is about the block, the slots are a little slopping and don't hold the knives all that great.

I'd definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a great knife set at a great price.

"Excellent Professional Quality Knives", Excellent buy. I love cooking and entertaining and these knives have cut my food preparation time in half because of their high quality efficieny but, be careful I've knicked myself countless times already just cleaning the blades. The knives are extremely sharp and just a brush across it will draw blood. The first time I cut myself was pullign them out the box. You can't touch the blade at all without cutting yourself but, that says a lot about the quality. I won't need to sharpen these knives for years to come if ever.

"affordable quality knives", We love the Ginsu 14-Piece set. They are sharp, sleek and look great in the block. We purchased this set because of the variety of blades. We are very satisfied with the quality and affordability of this block set.
