Others say...

"No gunk!"
The only noticeable thing about this cooker is that it leaves no gunk.
But be warned, it leaves a strong plastic + starch smell that some people may not like.

"Cooks Pasta, too!"
I use this to cook pasta in the microwave in 10 minutes. No more boiling a big pot of water on the stove. 2 cups pasta and 2 1/2 cups water (salt optional) in cooker--without the basket. Cook on high for 10 minutes uncovered--stir midway.
Remove from microwave, lock on lid with vents closed for 2 mins., drain.
Works great.

"Great product for a good price.."
My wife simply loves this cooker.. It works great and is very easy to clean!! We have been using it for 4-5 months almost daily . It also steams vegetables and potatoes very well. No complaints as of yet.

"I'm happy with this rice cooker"
I was skeptical about a microwave rice cooker, but this one works great, even for my favorite brown rice.

"Useful rice cooker"
I really like this rice cooker.
I love the simple effective and easy to use and clean design.
Only one inconvenient thing from electronic rice cooker is the fact that I have to close the holes on the lid and wait for several minuites after cooking in microwave.

What our customer's say!

"Does not work ", I bought this based on all of the good reviews it had on Amazon. I tried it several times,(following the directions exactly) and the cooker would not even come close to fully cooking the rice. I would not recommend this to anyone.

"Doesn't work ", Maybe it's good for white rice. I don't know. Doesn't work for brown rice.

"Pretty good but not perfect", I think it's pretty good but not perfect. The construction of the lid seems overly complex to me. It makes fine rice, but I'd like to see the lid construction simplified.

It does make good rice for me. It took a little experimentation to get it right with my microwave (they all seem a little different).

"Love the Rice Cooker/Vegetable Steamer", Well, it's been a month and I finally made some brown rice.... and my favorite, steamed broccoli. The rice (TJs Brown Basmati) I cooked for 20 minutes at 50% power level and followed instructions on bag which said 2 Cups water, 1 Cup rice. After 20 minutes, there was still water left and rice was still hard so I cooked for an additional 12 minutes at 50% level and that did the trick. It was perfect... I did let it sit for a few minutes and it fluffed up beautifully. As for the broccoli, I followed instructions 3-4 minutes on high, not vented... then let it sit closed for an additional 3-4 minutes, so I did 3 and 3, because I like it just barely softened and very green. Not sure I saved much time (15 mins total), but I didn't have to watch either of these. I was doing other things while they cooked away. Maybe I'll buy another so I can do them sort of simultaneously, as this is a favorite meal. A great value too.

"Make crunchy rice!!!!!!", This is great if you like crunchy rice.
I followed the instructions to the T and the rice came out crunchy and uncooked.....terrible.
Sooooo....I had to experiment.......it says 1 1/2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice......I actually NEEDED to use 2 - 1 ratio.
It says to micro at half power for 11 minutes.......WRONG!!!!
I had to micro at full for about 16 minutes to make edible rice.
Perhaps I'll need a new microwave next!!!!!!!

"Loooovvvee it, perfect for a college student", Left home, missed the convenience of a REAL electric rice cooker, but this is the SAME THING!

Pros: Cooks rice without me having to worry about burning it on a stove. It's just the same as a rice cooker...you measure rice, water, put it in the microwave and forget about it. I guess the only extra steps you do have to worry about is that when it's done, you do have to go close the steamer lid and wait a few more minutes.

Cons: Virtually non-existent...but I must list them anyway. It is slightly a pain to clean the entire thing when I'm done compared to an electronic cooker. The lid comes apart in two pieces and I have to clean that too. (I don't have a dishwasher so that's why I mentioned this). For some reason, my little veggie bowl does not look like the one in the picture. I haven't used it for veggies or pasta yet but mine is shaped more like a bowl. When you first take it out of the microwave, there will be some water settling on the top and might get it on yourself. It may scald you but...not badly since it's just a little.

My advice: can get a little soggy but you just gotta adjust and use less water the next time. All microwaves are different. The instructions calls for 1 cup of rice per 1 1/2 cup of water for 10-12 minutes. I use 2 cups of rice per 2 1/2 cups of water for 12 minutes and I'm still finding it a lil soggy but it gets better every time.

"Great Rice cooker.", One of my best purchases of 2007 was this rice cooker for $7.99. Its great follow the directions that comes with it and you'll never make a bad pot of rice.

"rice is good, but with a strong plastic smell.", I just tried this rice cooker. The result is SO-SO: rice is good, but smells like plastic. So if you can't stand the smell, don't buy it.

"Perfect rice every time...", I think the title says it all. I have never had a bad batch of rice since I started using this product. I am an experience cook and still would not cook rice without this product. I have been using it now for about 3 years. I melted the first one (through my own fault of forgetting to add enough water) and had to immedietly order another one so I could cook rice again.

"I now own two of these!", I got spoiled to good rice while I was living in Japan. This cooker makes good rice if you follow the directions and then adjust the timing on your microwave to match your style of rice. It's also very easy to clean up--the rice "gunk" doesn't stick to it. The cooker works wonderfully, and when I had a chance to buy a second unit at a very reasonable price, I jumped at it. Very good product; it does exactly what it's supposed to.
