"LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT"
After reading the reviews on Amazon about this product, decided to purchase for family at christmas. My family went crazy about this waffle maker. It is easy to use but you must follow directions. The timer is good so you know when it is heated and also when waffles are ready. Caution for filling the iron with batter. This will take practice so keep the dish rag handy to clean the edges. The dial for browness of waffle is exact so don't use past 4 or waffles will burn. I use about number 3 for golden brown with a little crunch. This is a GREAT buy for the price.

"After three other irons,"
After two cheap waffle irons then an expensive one from a well known cooking store that still didn't work correctly, I broke down and bought this one. And I am so glad I did because it is a dream to use. Each time, I use a cooking spray and we like a browner waffle so I use the #4 setting and it comes out perfectly. I love the audible alarm. My sister used it for guests and is now buying her own because she also loved it.

"cusinart waf-4b"
I just got this waffle iron for Christmas. Excellent, waffles are evenly baked and just a pleasure to use. I put blueberries and sour cherries in the waffle batter and the waffles still come out perfect every time. I also have a Waring Pro waffle maker and this waffle iron is as good as the Waring Pro, and as a bonus the waffle size is much larger that the Waring Pro. The only negative I have is that at the bottom edge of the waffle iron there is an open seam that waffle mix can drip into, and then I have to use a tooth pick to clean out the waffle mix that ran into the open seam. In this regard, the upper metal side should have been run down to over lap the base so that there wouldn't be a place to allow waffle mix to drip down into the seam. But this is just a minor issue.

"I love it."
It works great. Even the first waffle came out good. I discovered that I only needed to set the heat up half way to get perfect waffles. My old waffle iron needed to be set all the way up and you had to throw away the first waffle.

It's easy to clean up any spill-over because the grill extends over the base and nothing gets inside or caught in ridges. Actually you can wipe them off while its cooking. Once you get the hang of how to spread the batter there isn't any spilll-over. It beeps when its done so you don't have to stand there and watch it. You can cook up an entire batch very quickly.

When you're done the only thing you have to cleanup are the dishes. My father and brother loved the giant waffles (and the dogs enjoyed the leftovers). It's sensational and I am very glad I bought it.

"The best Waffle Maker for your money!"
I tried a few waffle makers with much disappointment and then the Cusinart Waffle Maker came into our lives. We are so happy with it and make waffles every weekend. It is so easy to use and to clean too. It has different settings for those who like their waffles a little darker and crispier and for those who like them light and soft. Most other waffle makers don't have this feature which makes this worth your money!

What our customer's say!

"Didn't live up", Love Belgian waffles; especially with fresh whipped cream. Had just gotten a Liss whipped cream maker so I figured let's make some treats at home.

Went to a brick and mortar store because had 25% off coupon. My original intent was to purchase the Waring flip type model, but it seemed a little complicated and flimsy. Also the sales clerk said they had a lot of returns for that model and very little for the Cuisinart.

Back home the next morning. Used a commercial mix and added black cherry coffee syrup. The waffles tasted pretty good, but boy was my first time a mess. Batter oozing out etc. As a matter of fact my housekeeper said this is the worst thing you have ever bought. But I figured there is a learning curve with anything.

Fast forward a week. New recipe with real eggs etc. Waffles were OK. They were a little greasy and darker on the bottom. Thought the bottom darkness was from pouring batter and it cooking a little before top was closed. So I began working on moving faster and figuring out how much batter. By the way about 1/2 cup is just about right.

Waffles got worse with each new batch. Bottom dark and top light and pale looking. Worked some more still worse. Then it hit me the waffles were cooking from the bottom up! The top part did not heat!!

Three single uses and broken. Own a lot of other Cuisinart appliances with no problem, but this waffle maker is a turkey.

It looks good and they have redesigned the front to help with the batter coating the controls, but they kept the rolled edges which makes clean up a harder job than it should be.

Would I buy it now knowing what I know. That would be a toss up. Fresh waffles sounded good but the trouble of going through all the mixing, calculating, pouring, and clean-up just kinda took the fun out.

"A Perfect Machine", From the first waffle it made them perfectly. I tried from light to very crispy and each time they came out as advertised. I am still trying the wide variety of recipes that came with it, many very unusual and very good. I couldn't have made a better pruchase.

"Zippee Waffles!", We love our new waffle iron! It's so fast! No mess either! I could do without the beeping, however. It would have been nice to have a model without noise, or at least the option of turning it off.

"It started off great...", I am a true believer in reading reviews done by people who have owned the product for a significant amount of time. Most products seem great when you first purchase them and the same rings true for this. When I purchased this waffle iron I loved it. It has been about a year and a half since the initial purchase. I make my kids waffles several times a week. So I really use it.

Here is the good stuff: The waffles do cook great and I love the timer. I get great waffles all the time thanks to the beep.

Now the issues:
1. The cost is high considering the low quality of the iron. I have cheaper irons that are built way better.

2. The temperture control handle broke within 60 days. I can use it but if falls off all the time.

3. It is a pain in the butt to clean. The grids do not come out and it's pretty heavy so it is difficult to wash.

4. The sides of the handle get really hot and the handle is not sturdy. They may have addressed this with the new model.

5. My newest issue, the non-stick coating is coming off. YUCK! I had my previous waffle maker for 10 years and the coating is still in-tact. Since non-stick coating is so dangerous for your health I am going to be throwing this out. Every time I use it there are more areas where the coating is chipping off. It has never been washed with anything more than a wash cloth, and no metal utensils are used.

I do not think this is a very good purchase. I hope my review is helpful.

"That darn beeper!", I purchased this Belgian Waffle Iron because I have a bed & breakfast and thought it would be perfect because of the speed of cooking as well as the size and the fact that it had a "beeper" on it to remind you that it was ready to cook and then again that the waffle was cooked. It even has variable temperatures. Well, I find that I want my waffles browned, so it's turned up, but the beeper goes off way before the waffle is ready. And it's really loud! So we have all been laughing at this little machine that keeps beeping me!

I had planned on buying a second waffle iron like this because I'm feeding lots of people, but I can't even imagine dueling beepers! It will drive us nuts. The clean up is fine, the storage is fine, the handle stays cool. Everything is great, except that darn beeper!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Cuisinart Waffle Maker", The first time out of the box the machine made nice waffles. The second time we tried a recipe from a cook book that we had used previously and it stuck to the plates and made a mess, even though there was sufficient oil in the batter and on the plates. We wanted to try a crispier waffle but setting the temperature above 4 seems to be "too high" so we keep it on 4 and get nice looking and tasting waffles that are soft, not crisp. If anyone has a suggestion for a recipe and settings to get crispy waffles please let us know. Overall not a bad machine, but it needs to be ""tweeked to make waffles the way we like them. We also noted that it makes waffles almost too fast, in about 1-1/2 minutes.

"Highly Recommend", We registered for this waffle iron at Macy's for our June 2007 wedding but did not receive it, and I was very disappointed. Because I had been looking forward to having a high quality waffle iron, we decided to purchase this iron ourselves from Amazon. We are extremely happy with our decision. This is an excellent machine - good looking, well constructed, and produces restaurant quality waffles - every time. The mechanism that allows you to choose the darkness of your waffles is genius, especially when cooking for individuals with various preferences. The feature that dings when your waffles are ready is also wonderful - especially for me since I tend to try to "clean as I go" and thus sometimes find myself distracted and not watching the food as closely as I should be watching it. One previous reviewer noted that a certain corner of her waffles dis not get cooked. The first time that I cooked waffles in this machine I had a similar experience, but then I noticed that I had not filled the batter high enough and had failed to even it into that corner. I do think that this machine is definitely worth the price. The results are very impressive - especially with fruit in the batter and served with fruit syrup, fruit slices, and whipped cream.

"My Mother-In-Law liked it",
I bought this on Amazon to give as a gift to my Mother-Out-Law.

Surprising I have heard no complaints from her (about this gift). So, I give it 5 stars.

"Yummy!", We make waffles most every weekend, so I finally decided to buy a better brand to see if it would last longer than a cheap waffle maker. I love the Cuisinart's features: locking door, bell tone for preheated iron and for the waffle being done, and a dial for how crispy you want your waffle. They have all worked great!

"Take Your Pick - Cooked or RAW!", I've been making great waffles on an inexpensive little Betty Crocker model for ten years.
I did hours of 'homework' before ordering this Cuisinart 4-slice waffle maker & used it as soon as it arrived to cook up an entire box of waffle mix. Sure enough, the waffler cooked the rear two waffles exactly as programmed. However, in every batch, the front edges of the forward two waffles turned out WHITE, mushy, & difficult to remove! It was also impossible to comletely fill out the waffles without the mix running out over the front into the unprotected electronic controls. I called Cuisinart to make sure I'd used the appliance correctly & their customer service representative could only conclude that the waffle iron was faulty. For this kind of price tag, that's outrageous! It was shipped back within 24 hours. We're reverting to an inexpensive model, which we'll just toss & replace every few years.
