Others say...
"Most expensive is not always the best. " I just started cooking with a slow cooker and was so pleased with the convenience of leaving for work in the morning and coming home to a cooked meal. Unfortunately I went for top of the line. My mistake as there isn't that much difference between All Clad and the slow cookers that have similar features. Save your money, it doesn't do anything different. When looking for a crock pot also think about the size, I found the 6.5 quart slow cooker to be very heavy and awkward when trying to wash it/rinse it out. Disappointing with All Clad was the lid cover. It becomes so hot you can't pick it up without grabbing a pot holder. My old slow cooker's (the one that started it all -$25) lid I could always pick up during the cooking process without burning my fingers. And lastly I too was disappointed that All Clad didn't include a slow cooker cookbook, it has a couple of recipes with their instructions, nothing too interesting. "Pleased as punch with my purchase!!!" I'm earning my first A+ in 13 years of cooking from ALL family members thanks to this slow cooker! I've had it for about a month now, and I've cooked quite a bit with it: bread pudding, brisket, stews, and even spiced cider have all come out really delicious. I purchased it from a store that sends 20% off coupons in the mail, so I was able to get it for $120. That is steep, but I feel that it is worth it because it is such a beautiful, substantial appliance that is a real asset in the kitchen. But the proof is in the pudding--if I satisfy my husband, my daughter, and my sister (an undertaster, a supertaster, and a picky eater), then all I can say is that I wish I had purchased this sooner. A couple of things to keep in mind about this model is that it is a bit heavy and will take up a lot of room on your counter or in your cabinet, the recipe booklet is negligible (only 5 recipes), and the lit-up timer is difficult to read up close (you have to stand back a few feet to be able to read the digital numbers). But these inconveniences seem minor compared to the quality of the cooker, and I am very happy with my purchase. "Amazing Product" I just purchased the All-Clad Slow Cooker based on other Amazon reviews. It is perfect. Simple to use, easy to clean. It is a large size that can easily hold two chickens. The settings couldn't be simpler, and it switches to warm when your cooking time is completed. A nice feature is a count-"up" timer on the warm setting, so that you can see how many minutes have gone by after the meal finished cooking. Also, note that "Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook" by Beth Hensperger and Julie Kaufmann is a great cookbook with loads of terrific ideas. Enjoy! "Poor Quality, Poor Customer Service" I have had the All-Clad slow cooker for about a year, having used it only about 8-10 times. Unfortunately I did not save the receipt, for it no longer cooks the food. It did only a mediocre job at first, and now does not cook the food at all. All-Clad will do nothing without a receipt. The product is made in China (they told me that all their electric products are made in China), and they apparently do not exercise good quality control. I have had several cheaper slow cookers over the years which have done a better job at cooking the food and have lasted a lot longer. I do not intend to purchase All-Clad products in the future. "Took my $$, told me that it was shipping, later told me they didn't have any to ship!" Horrible service! They took my money without even seeing if they had the product. Then I finally get an email saying that it was being shipped. However, 4 hours later, I get another email saying that they do not have any in stock! So I had to wait for about 8 days for my refund. I will never purchase from this company again!

What our customer's say! "You get what you pay for.", I purchased a Rival Crockpot a few years ago and was never happy with it - the food always burnt and dried up, hence my search for a new one. So far I have made a Chicken Indian Curry and Beef Stew - both cooked for many hours on low and turned out just how they should - not dry or burnt and absolutely delicious. My only minor concern is that the lid does not seem to fit perfect and if you have to walk by the slow cooker when it's not on properly, it rattles. No steam escapes though. "Best Crockpot Ever!", This is the Mercedes of crockpots! Even cooking, NO BURNING, made well, beautiful to look at, delivers yummy meals exactly the way you want them. In the year I've had this appliance it has performed above and beyond any crockpot I have owned (about four). I chose not to purchase the one with the metal insert. I brown/braise foods in another pot and transfer them to the crockpot. The only fault so far has been that two of the four rubber feet have fallen off but customer service has been most cooperative. Hopefully this will be my final crockpot. I LOVE IT! "All-Clad Slow Cooker", I have been using my new All-Clad slow cooker for about 2 months now and it is by far the best slow cooker I have ever had. When cooking on low it really cooks on low. I have tryed several others all of which would cook the food to death by the end of the day. Not this one the food is perfect every time. I also like the way is switches to keep warm at the end of your preset cooking time and keeps the food just right for eating. Joe Craft II "I have finally found my crock pot!", As a child of the 60s, I grew up with pots of pintos simmering in the crock pot. I still have and love my old cobalt blue Rival, but I wanted something bigger and something that had a timer. I purchased the "updated" Rival with the time settings. After one year, the handle simply melted. Thank goodness Costco has a generous return policy. After researching for a couple weeks, I zoomed in on the All-Clad stainless steel. I've had her for a month now, and I do believe this is the crock pot I've always wanted. Why you may ask? 1) The 6 1/2 quart is big enough to put in both beef and pork ribs for slow cooked "in a pinch" pulled pork, carnitas and ribs. 2) I love the rubberized edge around the cooker insert. It keeps the seal strong, and cuts down on the possibility of accidentally wapping the glass top and cracking it. 3) She cooks my favorite gourmet beans from elranchogordo. com and keeps them WHOLE even if I cook them for ten hours due to a long work day. 4) The timer will switch to warm after the programmed time is finished. 5) The handle is riveted on (not plastic), so I don't worry about the melting fiasco of the Rival. 6) The crock pot is sleek looking, and really looks beautiful in the kitchen. 7) I LOVE the smell of slow cooked food after I come home for a hard day teaching 8th graders. You won't be disappointed. "Aluminum insert version", After reading other reviews, I opted for the aluminum insert version of this product, which is a Williams Sonoma exclusive. I've never owned a slow cooker before so don't have anything to compare this to, but it's wonderful so far. Because it's aluminum, I can saute in the inner bowl right on the stove without having to wash another pan. I'm a vegetarian and often add frozen products towards the end of the cooking time (Morningstar Farms veg. steak strips, etc.), and don't have to worry about the temperature change cracking the pan. Clean up is a breeze. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the price - $250 is pretty steep, and with shipping and taxes from WS, the total price was closer to $300. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "A made-in-China All Clad that doesn't live up to the brand ", After reading so many positive reviews, I was very anxious to receive the slow cooker, in fact I was checking the delivery on UPS almost daily. However, it was a huge let-down. The item was so defective at first sight that I had to return it. First of all, its exterior feels cheap, unlike the typical All Clad pots and pans. I have been cooking with only All Clad and bought several sets (LTDs, MC2s, copper core)for mom and family, so I know what to expect. My usual All Clad are all made in the US, and this is the first made-in-China item I purchased. I would like to the tell the All Clad management, if you are going to make premium products, stick to your Canonsburg roots and I don't mind paying more for quality. But charging All Clad premium for a piece of crap is unacceptable. This product also only comes with an one-year warranty, unlike a typical All Clad that comes with lifetime warranty. Then, the lid is UNEVEN. It cannot cover the crock properly so there is are huge gaps on both sides when the crock is covered. The crock itself is a disaster. I have never seen a piece of china so roughly and carelessly made. The rim was uneven, with bubble defects all over the place, and the base was UNEVEN too! It was visually a defective crock, and worse than the cheapest piece of ceramic plate you can pick up at Target. I am returning the whole product for a refund. For my next All Clad purchase, I will make sure it is the blue-blooded All Clad hand-made in the USA, not some cheap mock-ups made in China that are trying to charge the same premium for crappy quality. "Great Product", The All-Clad Slow Cooker was recommended by Cook's Magazine, which is why I ordered it. It is an excellent product. I like mine so much, I ordered one for my brother and his wife! "Wonderful product", I love this product. I've used it a few times since purchasing it and have had no problems. The food is wonderful and it's very easy to use. "ceramic vs. aluminum version of all clad slow cooker", I have never offered a review here before, but after using this, just felt like i needed to say something. I have had the smart pots, the large 7qt, the next smaller, and then a rival smaller one.....can't remember the exact sizes, but my frustration with all of them is that it didn't matter what setting you put it on, they all "boil". so i really never felt that i had an option except to cook on low for 4 hours, or cook on "warm" by putting it on low for 20 minutes where it would switch over. cleanup is always a pain, dishwashers just bake the stuff on, and you have to soak it before you can easily wash.......so i was ready to take the risk with this new crockpot after handing over the others to my daughter....they worked, i just didn't care for the boiling. THEN, I noticed that the all clad comes in two versions.....the first, generally available anywhere is the ceramic insert version ($149).....NOT to be confused with the aluminum version that costs $249 that can only be ordered through williams-sonoma. i ordered it just prior to thanksgiving from WS, deciding that if i was going to spend 149, may as well spend 249 and see if it really works well.......I am stunned, it's more than i hoped for. it's not only beautiful, it's so easy to cook and clean. you can take the aluminum version and cook right on the stove to brown your roasts, i was worried that the nonstick wouldn't brown well, but it does fine. it's light, and i love the two handles on the sides for ease in moving around. cleaning.....wow.....it practically just rinses out, for that alone it's great.....i'm not sure the ceramic would do the same. as for cooking....that's the first time i opened the lid to see that it was cooking, and NOT boiling. it has a delayed start, the screen to read from is very bright and easy to read. only drawbacks are that the lid is stainless steel and you cant see through it, but since you aren't supposed to take the lid off anyhow, it takes away that temptation. you also need to get some tongs or a large spoon that are made for non stick items.......make ahead mashed potatoes slide around inside instead of sticking and scorching, my roast just slid out, and there is no "burnt" residue ring left on anything i've cooked so far that usually requires scrubbing......alot of money? yep. but when you figure in cost per use, i will probably double the use because it's so kitchen and user friendly. i've also tried smalle batches of things to see if it cooked any different, it doesn't, so one slowcooker is all i need. i was also worried that because it heats from the bottom that it would burn, it doesn't, and the aluminum distributes the heat so evenly, i see no difference in any area of the pot that cooks more or less. being able to go from stove top to crock, saves me one more dirty pan.....if you are considering ditching your old cheap crockpots, save your money and hold out for this one, you wont be disapointed.....it's great. "All Clad Slow Cooker", I can't say enough good things about this product. I am very pleased with this purchase. Although there was a misprint on the website and the 7 quart capacity does not exist, I received the 6.5 quart capacity, which is large enough for any recipe. The unit did not overcook the food as so many other slow cookers do, even on a low setting. With the digital timer up to 20 hours and heavy duty stainless steel frame, the unit was worth the extra money. I recommend purchasing the unit through CooksPlus. Their Customer Service is exceptional and the product description on the website is accurate. ![]() |
