"Surprise- quality slicer"
I wanted a spiral slicer for raw foods, but I didn't want to put out the money for the expensive japan ones, since I am just getting into raw foods. The Joyce Chan saladacco just looked to cheap and limited on the amount of food it could do, so I went with the World Cuisine. I thought it would be compared to the crappy one walmart sells, but was I surprised. It actually is solidly built for being plastic, the 3 different blades are easy to switch out, and it works great on all the raw food I put through it, which has been a lot of vegetables lately. It does leave a little core from where the food spins on the blades, but I just take the little core and put it in with the sliced vegs. I love how zucchini strands come out for raw pasta and how I can get creative with the three different blades, kinda fun. I paid about $40 for this and worth every penny, oh yea, also very easy to clean.

"A worthy purchase"
So far, after having the spirooli slicer for 3 weeks, I am quite happy with the product. I have one complaint which would not prevent me from buying it again. Main complaint, the fact that it is made of plastic: I don't fully trust that the plastic crank arm will last forever but it works well and is easy to clean. The plastic arm you must use to apply pressure allowing the vegetable you are slicing to sit tightly against the cutting blades seems like a handle waiting to break. So I don't even use it. I have to place a thumb below the crank and my fingers grip the top of the slicer in order to apply enough even pressure to push the vegetable up against the blade while cranking it. An irritating design flaw. I would prefer that it was made out of stainless steel.

Other than that I am very happy with the product. It does exactly what it says it should do. As a matter of fact, the first time I used it on zucchini, it created an 18 foot long noodle!! Of course, THAT fascinated everyone. I've used it on yams, carrots, onions, zucchini and cucumber....all of which turned out just as I wanted.

"Very Pleased."
I bought this after a few recommendations I heard about how good it was. This machine is so simple and easy to use, clean up is a snap, it is really fun, too. I can make all thicknesses of anything I want - thin to very thick. I read some other reviews that people might have had difficulty with the machine, but I have not and really think it does exactly what it is supposed to do. Yes, it is all plastic, but it doesn't claim to be otherwise. The suction cups are great -- it won't go anywhere, and the blades are super sharp for a nice, clean, consistent cut and texture. If you are looking for one, give it a try -- you will be pleasantly surprised.

"Turning Slicer"
I really enjoy this turning slicer. It cuts in different shapes and length's. I have used it only 2 times so far for making salads. It works great.

"i've given this as a gift"
I bought this on a whim at an outlet store about 12 years ago. I've since given it twice as a gift. I use it mostly for making zucchini & squash "pasta", but it does well with potatoes. I nuke whole carrots for about 1 min so they soften up. It's fun to use, & I can throw the working parts in the dishwasher. No rust, so far. I have no problem with the veg core waste, since I compost.

What our customer's say!

"Excellent - Especially for fries", My daughter and I love to make frech fries at my house using my deep fryer. We started to get tired of cutting them and she really wanted to make curly fries and ribbon fries. We tried this and it worked excellent. The suction cups work well. Even though the entire thing is plastic it seems very firm. The blades are a little difficult to change but the fact that the two extra ones store underneath is nice. The crack works well, my daughter can use it easily. Since we really only use it for potatoes the fact that there is a 3/8" core left is no big deal. We just chop it up and fry it too. I would definitely recommend buying this unless you plan to use it on very small foods like carrots.

"LOVE IT!", This is a must for all who love making yummy raw food "pastas". You MUST buy one!

"I love it", Its going everywhere I go. Its the best thing that ever happened to my salad or any other dishes a must have

"Great product!", I recently read Carol Alt's book, and I've been trying to eat more raw food. This gadget is great. It took me a while to realize it works best with constant pressure, but the "pasta" is amazing. And, this thing actually makes cucumbers tolerable :). Very easy to use and clean. I recommend it.

"not what i expected", I was hoping fo a Japanese style spiral slicer. This is meant for American kitchens. The Japanese have a smaller blade for thinner cutting. I am a Culinary Chef-Instructor and wanted this slicer for a sushi demonstration and it did not measure up.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Good and Bad features", For the money this is not a bad spiral slicer considering some list for over 100 dollars. The real sticking point is the fixed forward axle for whatever you are slicing. It consists of a round hollow cutting edge with an approximate 3/8 opening. This simply means whatever you are slicing will lose a 3/8 cylinder from its center. This is accepatable with Cucumbers and Zuchini but does not leave much when slicing Carrots, Raddishes or any other small diameter veggies.
I would not recommend this if you intend to use it for these smaller veggies but for potatoes, Apples and the like it is OK.

"Good Idea, Poorly Executed", I bought this because it looks like it should be easier to use and more sturdy than the Saladacco.

1. Sturdy? No. The plastic is flimsy, and the crank (all plastic) is less solid than the Saladacco crank which at least has a metal arm.

2. Easy to use? No. I could spiralize carrots in the Saladacco but not in this thing.

3. Overly large and bulky? Yes. Twice the size of the Saladacco.

4. Can you get ribbon thin spaghetti-like spirals? No, I couldn't. Using the smallest blade the spirals came out in quarter inch chunks.

5. What's it good for then? It seems to do a good job of purposefully wasting a large portion of the fruit or vegetable you're trying to slice by pushing it through a hole that cuts a half inch core out of the fruit or vegetable.

6. What are you going to do now? Send it back and resign myself to using the Saladacco, which is not a perfect solution, but until someone somewhere designs something better it seems to be the only option.

"Awesome, fun & easy", I did a lot of research before buying this great "gadget" and I am thrilled with it! Easy to use and clean, the children I work with (and I) had a ball making raw "spaghetti" out of zucchini and squash. Can't wait to try the other blades. On a 100% raw diet this is a necessity.

"Spiral cutter is sturdy.", Cuts well, comes with 3 blades, takes seconds to clean. Cutting the spirals after with kitchen shears works better than the recommended slicing vegetable before spiral cutting. Machine fairly sturdy. Surpised at how well sweet potatoes apples and beets go together with Newman's Own lime salad dressing. Core apples and pears before cutting. Carrots are almost too small.

Love it, use it frequently. Great for RAW.

If this one breaks might actually think about getting the $300 all metal version.

"Great Zucchini Pasta", So far all I've used this for is zucchini pasta but that's what I wanted it for and it works great. It ends up being the size of slightly large spaghetti.
