"Terrible" I bought this iron to replace a previous Sunbeam model from Costco. I loved it and it lasted 5 years. It was light with plenty of steam and glided across the fabric like butta. This incarnation is heavy, provides hardly any steam and would not glide but actually stuck to the fabric. I looked underneath and the non-stick surface was pitted. The retractable cord seems like feature that will malfuntion in a year. It seems like it was made on the cheap. This is not worth your time or money. I'm getting a refund for this monstrosity at a loss. "Steam iron" Very nice iron for the price. Retractable cord is something new and is both good and bad idea. Takes getting used to. Ironing surface doesn't seem as "slick" as some other irons I have had but does good job. "Not a bad iron..." Not bad as far as irons go. Not too heavy. Gets hot fast. Has automatic shut off. My only complaint is that it leaks just a little. I recommend this product. "It's a great iron" I've been using an old model of sunbeam steam master for 10 years and i was very happy with it .When finally it stopped working i bought this one hoping that it would be as good as the old model...Well it is ! "Easy glide?" Like others who have posted here, I bought this iron to replace a Rowenta that was giving me problems (no steam, dripping, spitting, etc.). I've only used it a couple of times and yes, the top controls are great, there is lots of steam and no dripping. But it is not what I would call easy glide. There is a roughness or tackiness to the glide that I do not like.

What our customer's say! "Dripless Iron that drips", This iron promises to be dripless, well it isn't. The very first time I used it, it left water marks on my ironing. After about 3 uses, the cap on the refill hole popped out of its position and I had to carefully put it back in. The plastic arm is very fragile. This model has the teflon bottom, however, it is certainly not a smooth, gliding iron-it is more sticky than other irons I have had. Also, the handle gets quite hot after using it for a while. Overall I am quite disappointed in the product and wouldn't buy from this manufacturer again. "Steam iron.", Like this steam iron, great steam and removes set wrinkles. Much better than a more expensive iron I had. Sort of heavy and takes some getting use to. "Waste of Money", From day 1 this iron took forever to heat up. On top of that, the boast of 'no drip' was completely untrue. It drips, drips, drips and sometimes the steam works and sometimes not. If you're into self abuse, buy it. If not, get any other. "Sunbeam 4215 Steam Master Iron", I really like this iron. It was to replace one that I had for about 5 years. I really like the feature with the retractable cord which makes it easier to put away. I also really like the indicator light on the side which turns red when it is ready to iron. It glides over the clothes when the correct setting is on and does a great job in a short time. I would recommend this iron to anyone looking for a replacement and doesn't want to spend a fortune on an iron that really does the same job as all, irons clothes. Thank you "The Little Iron That Could", This iron has really amazed me. I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get a new iron after my last one broke. I wistfully looked over the two Rowenta models they had, but knew those were not in my future. Avoiding the absolute cheapest, I saw this Sunbeam had the features I wanted. It wasn't until I got home that I realized it far exceeded my expectations. What I love about it: The retractable cord. The strip that tells you when it's safe to store. The large quantity of steam. In fact, the most amazing thing about this iron was, on some garments I don't have to actually iron. I just hang them up, then pass the Sunbeam over them, while pressing the button for the most steam. Also, this may be minor, but I really appreciate the perfectly shaped bottle to pour in water that was included. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Nice Features", This iron is a replacement for a Rowenta. I love the self-store wire, the indicator that lets you know when it's cool enough to store and the large water capacity. The only disappointment was that after it was shipped I saw it selling for $4 less in Walmart and another store. "IRONING EASE", HAS AL THE EXTRAS THAT MAKE IRONING EASIER AND ITS A GREAT VALUE WHEN COMPARED TO THE MUCH HIGHER PRICED ONES WITH LESS FEATURES. "Sunbeam! How appropriate.", It irons, steams and sprays just as the description stated. I like the retractable cord, also the controls placed on top. I did not realize how important top controls are to me until I had been deprived of them for so many years. I did not know there was such a thing as a "Storage Strip Indicator" but this iron has one and I like it - meaning that I can look at its color and tell whether or not the iron has cooled enough to be stored. Lastly, I think it is very attractive iron - standing proud, tall and ready for action. I omitted the fifth star because that one is for longevity and when the iron has served me well for several years, I will award that last star. "iron", I bought this for my mother. She likes the steam action. I am very impressed with this product. "Good Quality and Features for the Price", I chose this model to replace my refurbished Rowenta that could not be repaired for less than the price of a new one. The Rowenta had lots of little annoying problems, so I decided to try a different brand, and I'm glad I did. This iron has all the same features as the Rowenta and more, and it doesn't have the problems the Rowenta had. I sew, so I need a powerful steam function and it delivers. The steam reservoir has a large opening that is so easy to fill. I don't know why other models don't have this feature that saves so much time and mess. The retractable cord is nice, and the iron is heavy, which is a plus. Why would you want some lightweight iron that you have to press on to get wrinkles out? This just glides over wrinkles without added effort. This model is every bit as good as the Rowenta for much less money. The only disappointment is that it is not dripless as stated. It drips LESS, but it's not dripless. I'd recommend it, though. |
