"Work ok, but cheaply made and blunt ends"
I bought the skewers based on the reviews listed here, and the work ok. The stainless steel used to manufacture them is of cheap quality and they are a flimsy, I can easily bend them. The skewers arrived blunt, so I had to sharpen the pointed end so that they would not rip the meat.

I expeted a better quality product from a brand name like Steven Raichlen.

"Great Product!"
I purchased these skewers because I was sick and tired of using round skewers that made my food spin round and round. These skewers stayed flat and the food cooked evenly on both sides. I feel like a real chef when I use them! I am so sorry that I hadn't found these earlier in the season. I have used them constantly since purchasing them! Thank you Steven for such a quality product!

"Essential for Asian and Middle Eastern cooking"
Just what you need for Turkish style kebabs and vegetables that would otherwise be hard to handle on the grill. The flat design means no rolling around and the food is held better than with the cheap round skewers. However, you need barbecue gloves to handle these safely.

"Great Skewers"
Great Skewers. Veggies and meat do not slide around on the skewer. Easy to turn. Would love to have some more for parties.

"STAINLESS STEEL SKEWERS"
THE 3/8-INCH WIDE STAINLESS STEEL SKEWERS ARE VERY NICE AND LOOK LIKE THEY WILL BE GREAT, THOUGH WE HAVEN'T YET TRIED THEM.

THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND SHIPPING WAS FREE!

What our customer's say!

"Skewer Review", While there is no doubt that this is a quality item, I found them to be much too long and unwieldy. They are huge and would only work well on the largest of grills.
I also found them to be difficult to skewer anything with. They are very wide (I know there are narrower ones) but any vegetable I tried to put on them (onions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers) split almost every time no matter how careful I was.
So I guess if you have a large grill and want to skewer large firm items such as beef or swordfish, they would be great although still difficult to manuever.

"stainless steel ? barbecue skewers", The actual skewer is wonderful to use, keeping the meat and veggies from moving around. However, after putting them in the dishwasher to clean they came out with rust on them, so are they actually stainless steel. I recommend hand washing.

"Good product but the edge is too sharp that it cut your fingers", Solid skewer. Good quality for the money. However, the pointy edge is razor sharp. I actually cut my index finger trying to skewered the meat. I know it's me being careless, but the damage would have been less had the edge not be this sharp. As my finger still hurts badly after 3 days, overall not such a great product.

"Good stuff", Those are excellent skewers. They are perfectly wide to prevent pieces of meat from spinning. The only 'grief' I have, I would not mind for them to be a just bit longer.

"A.O.K.", Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue SR8025 Signature Stainless Steel Skewers, Set of 6 (3/8-inch Wide)

The product is exactly as advertised and is entirely satisfactory. The process of ordering/shipping went easily, and the package arrived without delay.

"Better skewers for meat", Hard to find these wider skewers at local BBQ stores. Most people do not know what you are talking about when you describe them. They are much better for meat because the meat does not "turn" like on the thinner skewers. Makes shish kebabs easier to handle on the grill.

"Lives up to reputation, but too expensive!", I really like these skewers, but was not impressed with the price. I feel they were too expensive.

"The best kabob skewers around!!", I bought several different sized sets of these skewers so I could try them all, including the widest so I could cook ground beef.

These stainless steel jems are simply the best........ The quality and workmanship is excellent. Unlike water soaked bamboo skewers that will burn up, you can cook your kabobs on very hot fires and get that crusty exterior that makes em taste great. These skewers are flat and can be turned with tongs or even pliers. The meat and veggies will not spin. They are dish washer safe.

I shortened several of the skewers by 2" making them the perfect length to fit in a Large Big Green Egg. Left at full length they are fine for a 22" Webber.

I also used a file to sharpen the points to make the food literally glide on the skewers. (Take care when using the skewers if you sharpen them)

I'd give these a 6 out of 5 if I could.

"Great Wide Skewers", If you like grilling kabobs these are great skewers for you. Basically, there are two main types of skewers available in the market. Metal and Wooden. Wooden ones can be made of bamboo or other wood types and often are round shape. The problem with wood skewers is that they can get burnt if the grill is quite hot so you have to soak the skewers in water before use. Also, because they are round, it's difficult to "flip" the skewer so that you can evenly grill the kabobs or whatever else you are grilling.
The metal skewers generally available in market are round. You don't have to soak them in water but they still have problem with flipping the skewer for even cooking. Flat metal skewers are perhaps the best. They are not burnt by heat and you can flip the skewer easily for even cooking. The only thing you have to be careful about is that metal gets hot after being on grill, so hand gloves are a must with these.
I bought weber flat flat skewers before I bought these. The weber ones are not as wide and perhaps not as sturdy as these. These skewers are also available in 5/8 inch and 7/8 inch widths besides the 3/8 inch width. I bought all three width skewers from amazon but I think for most purposes 3/8 inch size is best.
I am giving these four stars because when I hand washed them I could bend the skewer while washing and I think they could be made sturdier.
For the price, I think I got an excellent product.
