Others say...
"nice product for handling smoked meat" I got these as I needed insulated gloves to be able to 'pull' smoked pork. They work pretty well. However, I will caution that the gloves can get slippery (as anything does) from the fat/grease when you are separating the pork from it. (e.g. 'pulling it') The two 'salad forks' method works well, too. These gloves are handy to have to handle the meat regardless as they do a great job insulating from the heat and clean up nicely. A great addition to your tools for smoking. "does the job" bought these for pulling pork bbq, and making tofu, which requires squeezing a cheesecloth bag with very hot soy pulp in it. The gloves protected my hands very well. recommended. "Not for the Grill" These are not to be used on your grill (charcoal or gas)! I returned them. "Worked for me" These gloves served their purpose where cloth/leather gloves were just not adequate. To put them to the test, I used them with my propane grill rotisserie. I could hold the hot metal shaft, unscrew the prongs holding the meat, and then slide the meat off onto a platter, neatly. The glove wasn't affected, and they are easy to clean. I'd give it five stars-- but they are just a bit bulky-- one size fits all; that and I'd expect them to keep my beer cold to earn five stars. "great gloves" These are the first gloves I have found that truly will allow you to handle meat off the pit, especially pulling pork. I will buy more but would like have the same thing in black.

What our customer's say! "too short", I ordered these because I had a similar pair which came with the Ronco Rotisserie gizmo. They were perfect for removing meat and carrying but eventually needed to be thrown out. Now I have a smoker and thought the gloves would be good for pulling meat without piercing and too large for tongs. Well they are just a bit too short for my liking. "Decent, but too slippery for pulling pork", I've had these gloves for about a year. They work well in terms of heat resistance, and they're handy when I need to turn ribs or a big Boston Butt on the smoker. For pulling pork though, they're just too slippery. You can't get a good hold on the meat. "The Best For Handling Hot Food", A pair of these came with my rotisserie machine and I love how I can handle piping hot food without a problem. It makes cutting up chicken and roast a breeze. I order this for a friend and now I'm thinking of getting a back up pair for me. Washing it is so easy too, I just "wash my hands" as I'm wearing them. Don't wash the inside. "Great Gloves!", I purchased these gloves to use with my Showtime Rotissiere. The gloves that came with the Showtime didn't last long and cracked on some of the fingers. The Steven Raichlen Insulated Food Gloves worked perfectly to remove meats from the rotissiere. Cost less too! Showtime wanted over $30 to replace with their gloves. Thanks Steven Raichlen! "Insulated Food Gloves", I bought these for my son as he is the smoker master. We were at his house to pick up a smoked boston butt and I noticed he was struggling with handling hot food. I was online to order a couple charcoal starts and these came up so I ordered them... He absolutly loves them. Says he wishes he had them along time ago.. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Great gloves", These are a great pair of BBQ gloves. I've used them a few times on some things that I've cooked and while they work great I have found couple problems with them. One, they are a little big for my hands. I have medium to large size hands that these gloves are a little big in the fingers. Not usually a problem but it would be nice if they did fit a little better. The other complaint I have is that the material they are made out of is kinda stiff. Again, not a major problem but it would be nice if they were not quite as stiff. If I had to do it all over again I would probably still buy these even with the two minor problems. "Does exactly what it is advertised to do!", These gloves made pulling pork a joy. No more hurting fingers from the heat. They worked fantastic, and also allow me to pull hot food such as ribs off the smoker with ease. "Can't feel much of anything", I bought these for our Showtime grill when our old ones got ruined. If these are not exactly the same as what we got with the showtime grill, they're pretty darn close. The only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that the pastic coating has stuck the 2nd and 3rd fingers of the right hand together. Not a big problem, but not right either. If quality control lets such an obvious problem out, I imagine that they'd also sell other, no-so-obvious problems. "Just OK", The ability to handle hot bbq is great but they aer just too slick especially when handling brisket. If they had grip on them then it would be a 5 star product but they work for some of the meats that I cook. "very handy", I didn't even know a product like this existed until seeing it on Raichlen's TV show. Before I had this, I would try to get all the meat off a freshly smoked chicken using bare hands, knives, and forks, which was an uncomfortable mess. With the insulated gloves, I can now just shred away and not burn my fingers. The outside of the gloves clean up instantly, too. The only downside is if you get food inside the glove by accident; cleaning that out can be a pain. ![]() |
