Others say...
"These Work Great At Filtering Chlorine" These filters do what they're intended to do - remove excessive chlorine. The price here is just over $4 for a 2-pack, which works out to about $25 for a year. That annual cost may seem high, but the objective is to filter out chlorine from the water being used. The chlorine level around here has risen to an unacceptable level recently, and the use of the filter has helped greatly. Of course, other options would be to use bottled water or water filtered at the tap, but these filters work as designed in eliminating chlorine odor and taste from coffee. By the way, these filters are also available directly from the Mr. Coffee website at $5.99 for a 2-pack or $15.99 for a 6-pack. "Another rip-off marketing idea...." YOU DON'T NEED THESE!!! With the cost of these filters alone you could buy a BRAND NEW coffee maker almost every year. If you drink water from your tap or have a water filter (like a Brita or Pur) then you are just throwing money away. Would you like a samll order of fries to go with your large order of fries sir/maddam. "Coffee-savers" My coffee has never tasted as good as it does now. We have very hard water, and I was almost embarrassed by the amount of "guck" that these filter disks remove when the coffee is brewing. I can't believe the amount of crud that we must have been drinking before I got my Mr. Coffee with these water filters! "Water filtration repalcement discs" Purchased the Mr Coffee water filter at Walmart for $3.64. This is the complete system which consists of frame, filter disk and disk cover. Only need to relace the filter disk monthly. Can buy the 6 pack of the disks from MrCoffeeStore or Amazon for $14.99 at this time. We have a filter system on the sink in our home; but when the Mr. Coffee water filtration system is used there is white sediment (calcium buildup) on the filter because we have such nasty water. To clean the system we just run water over to wash off the sediment and then once a month change the disk. For $2.49 a month it is worth it when you see the junk the filter keep out of you coffee grounds and your machnie. "You can't be serious!!" After checking every store I could think of and accepting that I'd have to go online, I laughed out-loud when I saw this price! What was Mr. Coffee thinking? I read the other reviews of these filters and became aware that I don't even need them! Duh, I have filtered water in our house! Thank you Mr. "Train Man." The little carbon filter sounded like a good idea, but my coffee will survive without it. At least it's not a total loss because I like the coffee maker itself. Happy brewing.

What our customer's say! "Not what I expected", I thought when I purchased this item that I was getting as it stated '..the water filter replacement disk' but what I got was the entire assembly that houses the disk and the disk. I had the housing I only needed the replacement disk as was stated. Also the picture shows how the replacement disks come - two to a package. This came one assembly to a package. Not at all clear. :-( "Pricey but they do the job", I like my Kona coffee fresh tasting and chemical filled tap water can ruin that. These little filters do a great job of improving the taste of regular tap water. Sure, they are pricey, but I've found I can go for a few months using just one rather than change it out every month as Mr. Coffee recommends. There are alternatives to them as well, like using pref-iltered water or bottled water, but costs doing it that way can add up as well. Overall, a decent product if you can stomach the price. BTW, as of writing this, the 2-packs ($3.99) are actually cheaper to purchase than the 6pk (going by unit cost). But for some reason the shipping is a $1 more for the 2-pack! Solution: Buy three 2-pack refills in one order and you save yourself about $2 over the cost of buying just the one 6-pack. Note to Mr. Coffee -- make these available at local supermarkets so that we don't have to pay such outrageous shipping! "Coffee filter Disc", They work Great, parturally when you live in a town that the tap water is not consistent. "coffee filter", I ordered 10 replacement filters - received complete filters, there was a big difference in quantity. "Highly Recommend These Filters", Chlorine removal is an added plus from my point of view. I love these filters because the remove the calcium. While my community's water is certified safe to drink, it is very hard. Prior to buying this model of Mr. Coffee, we used bottled water for our coffee and could taste the difference. With this filter, I have gone back to tap water. I get about three months to a filter by rinsing the filter under the tap using reverse flow, i.e. I run the water through from the bottom of the filter. As to availability, I buy at least three packs through Amazon. What could be easier? Filters are only half of the battle against sediment. I remove the bail and filter and run a full carafe of the cheapest white vinegar that I can find through the system. Then I run as many carafe's as necessary until there is no more sediment coming through the pot. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Robbery", The cost and lack of availability of these filters is robbery. If I had known about the problems and cost involved in finding them in the first place I never would have bought a mr coffee, and in the future I will be very skeptical of mr coffee. If I tried to replace the filters from the mr coffee web site at the suggested rate of one per month it would cost me about $60 a year. "Great Idea .. but who needs it??", These filters are impossible to find locally. Amazon is the only place that has them. Six dollars to filter the water for your coffee is crazy .... a tap filter on your kitchen sink is a much better idea .... ![]() |
