Others say...

"Heavy, sharp knives."
These knives came nice and sharp. They are heavy and seem very durable. A great buy.

"Awesome Cutlery Set"
What can I say, it's the best knife set I have ever owned. Highly recommend.

"Great knives at a reasonabl price"
These are the first proper knives I have ever purchased and I am quite happy with them. Comes with a sharpener too!

"Okay for the price"
So far I haven't been impressed with these. They are unusually lightweight, but sleek-looking. Compared to the knives I've been looking at (for about a year now) the price is what keeps them on my counter. I agree with one other reviewer - my knives also have "stains" on them only after using them for about three weeks. They look discolored in places and look like they are starting rust. How is that possible with stainless steel?

"BRAVO!"
Thank you Chicago Cuttlery for an AWESOME and affordable knife set! I am lovingly teased by my family about my knife snobbishness and before using the CC Forum knives only one knife (one I bought for $35 over 25 years ago from the butcher at SPD Meat Dept) has met my expectations. I now own a gorgeous, silver, hand-friendly, sharp-as-a-razor set of the best knives I've ever used. They glide through meats and vegetables with barely one stroke, sharpen to a perfectly honed cutting edge and their light weight and beauty make it a sensation to prepare a meal. As you see, I have no negatives to report with this knife set--They are a chef's dream to use!

What our customer's say!

"Quality Knives", I was nervous about ordering these knives in spite of some of the reviews I read, but I'm very pleased with them. They were very sharp when I took them out of the box, and they're still very sharp today - and I haven't sharpened them once in three months. The stainless handles feel comfortable in my hand, and I really like they way they look - simple and contemporary but elegant.

"good value for a good product", I bought this for my son for his first apartment after graduating college. He loves it. He says that the knives are great! They're very sharp and he likes the way they look and the feel in his hands. He's completely satisfied and is glad I got them for him.

"The best investment this year", I really wanted a knife that I could neglect and put in the sink and dishwasher but it's not recommended with these knives and I don't. They are worth the effort. Thy look so nice with the finish and all. I just love 'em. They're about 50% sharper than my previously owned set.

"Great Knife Set!", I purchased these as a gift for my dad and stepmom and they seem to enjoy it. I really wanted them for myself after having seen them. Not only do they look amazing, but they are really easy to handle (I tried using them myself) and slice really well. Obviously how well they slice is dependent on how sharp they are kept, but they come with a sharpening steel which is a nice bonus. I definitely like the block it comes with and it's pretty compact and contains all the basic types of knives that the average cook would need to use. I still want this set, but I have a bunch of other great knives already=T

"Just ok", Ok set, price ok, not great. Didnt realize this set was not the one that had the indentions in the blade so what you are slicing doesnt stick to blade. Can't remember what that is called, they are sharp but I have concerns about edges after sharpening. They are attractive tho on my counter.:-)

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Wonderful knifes", This product is great. The knifes are a solid piece of steel. Easy to sharpen, easy to clean. recommend highly

"Decent knives for the price", I bought these knives, for several reasons, I was tired of all my cheap knives , that would go dull after a week of use, they were relatively cheap, and I really liked the stainless steel handle.
The knives came out of the box not very sharp, so I spent quite some time researching how to effectively sharpen a knife. I finally (after about 3 weeks) was able to really razor sharpen them with a sharpening stone, and a touch with the sharpening steel before every use had kept them in excellent condition so far. The knives were not so easy to sharpen, which might mean that they are made of decently high carbon steel, and will hold and edge relatively long. This is just an assumption though since I was not able to find any info on the exact type steel Chicago Cutlery uses.
For the average home cook this Chicago Cutlery set will do a nice job, but if one really wants to do some serious cooking and prepping, then a knife of the caliber of Wusthof, Henckels , Shun etc will do much better job.
I gave the set 4 stars because now that I have sharpened them correctly , I believe they will hold an edge pretty well, and I would have given them 5 stars if they were made convincingly more solid so they can take more "beating" in the kitchen.

"Great set of Knives", I bought these knives about a month ago and am very pleased with them. They arrived very sharp and blemish free. I have enjoyed the ease these knives have made all my food prep. I made some philly steak subs last week and was impressed with how thin I was able to cut the beef. Buy these and you'll be happy.

Peace

"Great Knives", So far these knives have been great to work with. They are light and sharp, and fit in the hand nicely. They came clean and scuff free. The price was great - buying online seems to save you close to 50% over in store retail prices. Very pleased.

"Cuttin' up", My husband and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and although we are not top chefs, we are trying to expand our culinary skills. These knives are sharp, easy to hold, and very attractive in their wooden block. As a basic set of knives for newlyweds beggining to explore new frontiers in the kitchen, this set is perfect. We are pleased.
