"West Bend 54149 12-Cup Automatic Coffee Percolator, Stainless Steel" After about 30 years of automatic drip coffee makers I have gone back to a percolator. So far this one is working nicely and making more decent coffee than those plastic monsters. I base part of my liking for the west bend pot on experience with the West Bend percs some 40 and 50 years ago in Air Force base photo labs. These pots would make 3 to 4 pots a day and were seldom turned off. The coffee was just as good then. The pots lasted a couple of years with this use. They used to cost us about $8 at the PX. I hope that this new one will last as long. "GOOD STUFF" I have tried other electric percolators, and I keep coming back to this West Bend. I perked a fresh pot yesterday morning, and I wanted to take the morning off just to drink my coffee. I remove the grounds from the basket, and reheat the coffee the next few mornings. It's still good, and I really think West Bend makes the difference. "trisha" does the one minute a cup, coffee is hot. Looks nice, plug is strong. I wouldn't mind if it perked longer or had a setting for extra strong "West Bend 54149 12-Cup Automatic Coffee Percolator, Stainless Steel" Makes great coffee and real hot also.I am a little diapointed about the cup indicator which only shows between 8 and 12 cups this makes it a real hassle when your filling it to make less than 8 cups. "Good product" I love perculator coffee makers because you get HOT coffee. I had a different brand that had some poorly designed features. What I really like about this West Bend pot is the water level indicator, (although it starts at 8 cups). The only wierd problem is that every 10 min. or so it momentarily starts re-perking, to keep the coffee warm. If you don't remove the coffee ground holder it will send the hot water back through the grounds.

What our customer's say! "Awful!", It works great, but on the inside bottom of the pot the material has started to chip away. It must not be stainless. I now have to order a new pot. Different brand. "We love this.", I got sick of replacing drip coffee makers once or twice a year, so I decided to go old school and give this a shot. Granted, it's only been a month so far, but my wife and I love this product. The coffee does taste stronger, it's definately hotter, and we think it tastes better. I do wish the coffee level indicator in the handle went below the 8 cup level, but that's not enough for me to lower the stars. We don't have a lot of counter space so we like that it doesn't take up much, and that it's a good size to store in a cabinet if you need it out of the way. Drip makers are too bulky for that. I only hope it stands the test of time better than drip makers. "EXCELLENT!!!!!!", We LOVE our new coffee pot! It arrived quickly and exactly as described! We're done with those drip coffee makers, they are disposable at best where we're concerned. It seems like they last about a month then you have to go purchase another one! This coffee pot makes the best coffee ever! Thanks again for the quick delivery as well as the excellent coffee pot! "Good Product", Makes a very good pot of coffee. Better than auto drip methods. Very satisfied with this product. "It is a good percolator", Makes a good cup of coffee but you will need to adjust the amount of coffee grinds for your taste (stronger or weaker). Also the coffee comes out really hot (no kidding) and it stays hot for awhile. The cup indicator only shows between 8 and 12 cups- should be 2 to 12. Very easy to use and clean. It would have been good to have a temp gauge so you could make the coffee perk longer or shorter (to make a stronger or weaker coffee). Like all other products- this product is made in China. But it seems to be built good but only time will tell. What happen to made in the U.S.A! 
Read this reviews before You buy... "my new coffee pot", I was very happy with the price and now that I have used it I think it is a very fine product. If I ever need a New pot it will be a West Bend product. Thanks very much. Jerris |
