Others say...
"Work Great" These have been working great in my stand-alone dvd recorder. While I've always favored Maxell, Amazon does not offer them, and these seem to be as good or better. Amazon's packaging leaves something to be desired, but damage was limited to one scratched up disc. Price is 21c each !!! "Satisfied with price and quality" I have completed 32 pieces of TDK, and all of them succeeded. I am satisfied with the price and quality of this product. "Do not buy this" This is a very bad product. About 50% of the dvds that I tried to burn had errors. And I tried 2 burners .... LiteON on my desktop and whatever burner is there in a macbook "TDK 4.7GB 16x DVD-R (100-Pack Spindle)" I've purchased 3 of these 100 packs from Amazon (ordering another now) and I've only had 2 "bad burn" coasters out of 300 disk burns using 4 different DVD burners, 2 in computers and 2 being used to burn/record TV shows. I highly recommend these disks. "Bad experience" I purchased a pack of these TDK 4.7 gb discs when they were on sell, thinking that I was getting a GREAT product for a very discounted price. After spending a lot of time transferring videos to DVD, I kept finding that almost all of the discs would have an error at the very end of the burn process (meaning I would have to re-record hour long videos many times to get an actual DVD). At first I thought the problem might be with my DVD burner (I have a Dell Inspiron 6400), but after using other branded recordable DVD's, I've come to discover that the problem lies with the DVD... I'd love a refund, but more so than that, I'd love to have back the wasted hours trying to transfer VHS to DVD with these discs...

What our customer's say! "Great DVD-R's, Great Brand", I have finished more than three-quarter of the 100-pack spindle and I have yet to find a coaster. The thing with DVD's or CD's is that when you find a bad one, it seems to be bunched into the same stack as they were manufactured at the same place and at the same time. My recommendation is not to burn DVDs or CDs using the maximum speed, the chance of a bad burn tend to be much much less if you knock it down a bit. Same as filling up the data capacity, 4200mb seems to work best for me as filling up the DVD to the edge may become problematic. "Works GREAT with TiVo Humax DVR", I have an older Humax TiVo DVR which has the DVD burner inside. Though the Humax leaves a LOT to be desired. .. the TDK DVD's are the only ones that I can use in it and they work 99% of the time. I've tried lots of other brands, and have lots of problems, but TDK almost always works. When you're buying a spindle of 100, it's not impossible that you might have one or two that will give you a problem, but I find that with just about any brand, even on other DVD burners I have. I read somewhere that TDK was about the most compatible brand of blank DVD's that you can get. . . and that's certainly the case for me. "Perfectly delivered", This product was exactly like what you would get in the store but at a much better price! "Many Defective Discs", Maybe it's the discs, maybe it's my DVD recorder, but about one out of ten of the TDK DVD-R discs ended up with a message "disc error" or "unknown disc" It's not so much the loss of a disc as the two hours it takes to record a movie, just to end up having to record it all over again. "I don't understand why others have so many problems", I have been burning DVDs for several years now, totaling over 2500 discs. I have used several different machines; at present I use a Magnavox that I paid $50 for at Wal-Mart. As for the discs, I usually buy whatever is the lowest price. The last 200 I bought were TDKs from Amazon. I paid only $21/100. It may be hard to believe after reading many of the other reviews here, but my experience has been almost problem free. I doubt if I have lost more than 10 discs in all that time, and most of the failures were my fault. Why others have so many problems and complaints, I do not know and will not even speculate. Maybe it's just good luck, but whatever the reason, I wish everyone else had the same experience I have had! ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Fantastic deal!", I've always been a fan of TDK products and this 100 pack spindle of DVD-Rs is no exception. Quality product at an almost unbeatable price point. How can you go wrong? "good enough", I have used hundreds of these discs on my panasonic dvd recorder for movies and tv shows. These discs have not been any problem for the most par, perhaps a bad disc once in a rare while. I do not know of any brand that has a 100% rate of perfection though. These are as good as any. "Great price, 100% burnability!", I've already burned through over half of the 100 DVDs in this spindle and every last one of them is exactly what I want. Great quality picture, sound, etc. I use these to burn DVDs that are compatible with my PS2. I've burned movie, fansub anime, slideshows, and all of them are running great. For any who are curious, I use VSO's Divx to DVD to transfer avi's to vob/dvd. I don't bother with menus but DVDAuthorGUI is the program to use for that. Pick up VSO's Copy to DVD for an even easier burn. Of course, eveyone has a different poison but this is it for me. Overall, I've tried Verbatim and TDK DVDs and recommend both of them to DVD enthusiasts. "Great DVD-Rs", My product had its packaging opened a little, but none of the DVD-Rs were used or damaged. These DVD-Rs are a great purchase. I specifically bought TDK because I know how well they work. "50% bad", It's hard for me to give this brand even with one star. I bought 100pcs but 50% of them were bad, couldn't burn, kept spinning and spinning until you turn off the computer. I will not buy TDK brand any more and you should not buy too. ![]() |
