"makes great gluten free bread" I am using this bread machine to make gluten free bread and it makes excellent loafs of bread each time. It is very easy to use, just read the instruction manual first and follow the instructions carefully and it makes perfect bread. Based on reviews that I read before I bought this machine I have been setting the machine on light crust each time and it cooks just right. It is very easy to clean. The display is very easy to read. I recommend this bread machine to everyone, gluten free or not. "Another one with pan problems" I bought this because I have other Cuisinart items that I like. I was a bit worried about the comments with the pan not staying in but figured it couldn't be too bad as my 16 year old Panasonic didn't even have anything to hold it down, it just dropped in and worked. Boy, was I wrong- after a month my wife could get it to hold in place after about 5 minutes of fiddling around. Now, neither of us can get it to stay, I force the end of the handle through one of the hold down holes and leave it at that. Not great but it kind of works. Otherwise, I am happy with everything else about it but I'm afraid I'm advising not to buy one, it's definitely not worth the hassle. "Perfect results every time" I've had this machine for over a year now and I've made a lot of different types of bread in it; pre-made mixes and recipes from the instruction booklet and recipes from cookbooks. It has never failed me in any way. I suppose the biggest difference between this unit and the previous bread machines that I've owned is that I treat the baking pan the same way I treat my knives. I don't put it in the dishwasher, ever. The other thing I like about this machine is the audible alert to remove the paddle (if you're around to hear it). This makes for a much nicer loaf which is much easier to remove from the pan. I suppose I'll be making bread with this thing for a lot of years because it's built like a tank. "Bread Pan stuck so cant use or return bread machine" I really enjoyed using the bread machine for the first month and a half than the bread pan got stuck, and I could not use the machine. I called cuisinart who said I need to return it where I bought it and amazon has only a 30 day return policy. So now I have a broken bread machine. "Operates very well" My new Cuisinart 2 pound Convection automatic bread maker does a fine job on bread. I enjoy it very much, and it has simple instructions, and the readout indicates what the unit is currently doing. I would recommend it.

What our customer's say! "Great for Gluten-free recipes", I bought this bread-maker after my 12 year old was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. It has worked perfectly every time. You do have to remember to follow all directions in the recipe as well as for the breadmaker. The biggest problem with the GF dough is that it is not very "cohesive" and you have to remember to stir dry ingredients into the center once or twice as the machine mixes the dough. I have found that the GLUTEN-FREE PANTRY FAVORITE SANDWICH BREAD mix is the best and I also add the new Orgran "gluten substitute". "Better quality control", During the first baking session, the bread pan kept popping out of the seat while in kneeding cycle and I had to reseat the pan, repeatedly. After the session was over and I had a good loaf of bread, after all, I force stretched the pan lengthwise so that the tabs at the sides of the pan engaged the seat-tabs of the baking-well more positively and it is working OK, now. A little better quality control is suggested during the fabrication. The crust tends to come out "harder" than each of the 3 settings. "Before you purchase read my 2 cents worth", out of 6 loaves i have not made a 'good' one yet... however I ate them all. 2 were so bad there has to be a mistake in the recipes and needed correction before final baking and the others I can only guess. it's retro-deco ugly and difficult to clean the outside surfaces. I was harsh with my rating because it was priced higher than others i was looking at and subsequently disappointed in this brand name. "reviewing Amazon", cuisinart bread machine cbk200 I have not used the bread machine yet. It will be the first time I have ever used a machine to make bread. So I cannot review the machine yet. I think, even though I clicked on purchasing a *new* machine, I think I received a used one or a returned one, because there were spots on the lip of the machine under the cover. Too, I have a feeling the machine has been **discontinued** and none of the outlets are telling us because I went online to Cuisinart and it isn't even offered. My review of the bread machine will come at the end of the week after I use it for the first time. But, my machine did not come with a manual. Nowhere on Amazon is there a phone number to call a human being about the problem. The Cuisinart warehouse is 3 miles from us. We called ALL their phone numbers and none of them worked! Finally, I had gone online and googled where I could download a manual for the bread machine. which I have a feeling has been *discontinued* and none of the outlets are telling us. Because I went online to Cuisinart and it isn't even offered. I was low on printer ink and paper. But, I thought that I would have enough to print up a little manual. Well, that little manual turned into 115 pages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I ran out of ink and paper. After my husband ran up to Staples' to buy more paper and ink and after printing up the manual, my husband found an 800 phone # quite a few pages in. It was not an enjoyable experience at all. It was supposed to be an early 44th anniv. gift from my husband...a joyful gift which turned into a horror show. I have only ever written 3 bad reviews in my life. This is the 3rd. I have always written raves. I just hope this bread machine turns out to be better than our experience. This would be the first time I've written a bad review about Amazon. "Material is made of made construction ", The outside may be made of stainless steel, but the inside interior isn't made of stainless steel(where it counts). Not recommended for baking, poor quality product and overpriced in that regard. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Top notch", It's nice to see a quality product that does what it's supposed to do. This machine is well made and accompanied by a well produced instruction/recipe book. "You'll Never Knead Again!", I love this breadmaker. I'll freely admit to being a breadmaker snob who thought nothing could match the human hand. Unfortunately, I can't stand storebought bread because my dear Mum always made homemade bread and I guess those early tastes stick. The trouble was that it takes so much blasted time and attention. I bought another manufacturer's breadmaker a few years ago and returned it after seeing what it produced (soggy, gummy yuckiness). I hesitantly tried the Cuisinart and was thrilled with the results- fabulous, crispy, tall loaves, fully cooked. It produces better bread than if making with stand mixer, by hand, or food processor(I've tried them all). You need to take time to decipher the manual- a bit confusing with charts and cycles. Some experience making bread would be helpful so you can gauge proper consistency, i.e.; adding more flour at early stages of kneading. You can select various crust darkness levels for those who don't like crisp crusts. The dough only cycle is a helpful feature for foccacia dough and the like that you bake in the oven. It's like having a strong-arm in the kitchen who will pound the heck out of your dough for the best texture and rise. A reliable and good friend in the kitchen. "Okay machine with a serious fault", The machine does the job. But the bowl dislodges off in midst of mixing and does not stay in its grove. So basically you have to hold it for an hour. I wish they had groves with locks to hold the bowl. "Very Happy!", I have had this breadmaker for several months now and have made many wonderful loaves of bread. I am horrible about using recipes as guidelines, measuring ingredients in the palm of my hand and "eyeballing" them, but, nonetheless, my bread has come out perfectly each time, the crust is crisp and even, and the bread is tender and delicious. I have baked a lot of bread in my oven from scratch over the years (mostly round, rustic artisanal sourdoughs, loaded with nuts and grains and drizzled with olive oil, letting them rise slowly and then baking them on a stone, paying attention to the amount of steam to produce the perfect crust). Those loaves are easily an entire day's work (sometimes two days!). This is my first breadmaker and I am completely smitten with the low maintenance investment it offers for the high-quality yield it produces. I am so proud when my husband comes home from work and I have a wonderful aroma of baking bread permeating the kitchen. It draws him to the counter to keep me company while I finish getting dinner prepared, though he hates to wait for the bread to cool!! The recipe book is outstanding, btw. There are many wonderful gourmet recipes as well as the standards, plus gluten free, low carb and artisan breads. Every recipe has nutritionals at the bottom, which is nice when you are watching your figure, and I really appreciate the versatility of the loaf sizes (small loaves = quicker consumption = an opportunity to try a different recipe!). In fact, I was originally planning on buying a separate bread machine cookbook when I purchased this machine, but there are so many wonderful and exciting recipes in the book that came with it, as well as a very informative glossary, that I have decided I have everything I need after all. The artisanal loaves make a thoughtful gift, too, tucked in a basket with a few preserves or gourmet spreads, perfect for a hostess gift, and a welcome alternative to the standard bottle of wine. Yes, the machine is rather big, but it is also handsome enough to deserve it's larger footprint, and I am proud to give it the counter space it takes up. And yes, it is somewhat noisy, but no more than our dishwasher, and the noise is completely appropriate in the kitchen. I would recommend this bread machine to anyone seeking a chance to serve up high quality, high variety breads to their friends and family. "Maybe I got a dud, but...", this unit was a major disappointment for me. About 75% of the time I use bread machines, I use the dough cycle and make specialty bread. This was the case with my first time with this unit. I needed to make a large quantity, so I had my two Panasonic units as well as my new Cuisinart for the job. All three were given the same ingredients, in the same quantities and put on the dough cycle. At the end of the appointed time, I had two nice pans of dough (the Panasonic units), and one pan (in the Cuisinart) of soupy paste, with half an inch of unmixed flour along one side of the pan and a smaller amount along the other sides. I had followed the directions, but it was just a flop. I was able to salvage the dough by hand mixing and letting it rise, but that is hardly what one expects to have to do when one owns bread machines. Again, maybe I got a dud, but this unit was a major disappointment. ![]() |
