"Great Pot, Great Buy" Calphalon is always a good product, a little spendy, but a good buy. We PAID over $100 for their Wok over 25 years ago and still use it all the time and love it; great product. We had never used their stainless steel line of products; however, we were in the market for a new stockpot and the price and quality on this one was just too good to pass up. This was a great buy on a great pot. The Tri-Ply construction is wonderful, as you get great heat distribution and can greatly reduce the temperature settings on your stove. Starting your dish on the stove-top and finishing it in the oven can be accomplished with great ease with this pot; I give it the highest marks! Ours was shipped from Macy's and both shipping and delivery were very satisfactory. "Wonderful" I bought this on a recommendation from my Mother. Our family has been in the restaraunt business for years. I use it to make big pots of soup. It's terrific. It's sturdy and yet not too heavy. The glass lid is great, I never have to lift the lid to check for simmering. The handles are very secure. They do get warm after you've had something cooking for a while. Use potholders if you pick up the pot from the stove. It's easy to clean. It has a very pretty mirror shine to it, so much so that I leave it on my stove all the time. You can't really see that in the picture. So far I can't voice a single complaint about it. For the pricetag, it's a really good deal. I'll have it for many, many years. "Great for stock and long simmering" This stock pot is great for simmering stock, soups, etc. I also have a very expensive "Lifetime" stock pot and this one works just as well. Definitely a great bargain for the money. "good pot" This is a very good pot, the only thing is the handles do get hot and you need to use pot holders. Other thatn that it is great. "Quality Stockpot" This a quality stockpot without the hefty price. I use it to make spaghetti sauce and have been very pleased. I highly recommend this product.

What our customer's say! "Worth the Money", The rivets are definitely big, right there on the inside surface that is used, but it doesn't matter overall. The pot is very sturdy, evenly weighted, handles well, and heats well. The handles feel appropriate to the distribution of weight - their design makes sense and feels right (which is especially important when dealing with a pot this size). The pot is not too tall and skinny; the large surface area on the bottom of the pot helps food heat evenly. Because the pot handles and works so well, I use it for much more than I originally intended. "Excellent quality!", Always a top quality product. You can't go wrong with the Calphalon brand cookware. "Great pan", Great pan, it was just want I wanted. I love the triply stainless-steel cookware. "First month great, then it stains and burns easily, thick soups do not fare well", This pan is good for thin stocks but not other purposes. I was wowed at first. I followed manufacturer directions but apparently what ever gloss like coating they put on it wears off and then it starts burning and staining fairly easily. Still good, but not as good as I would have hoped for the price. I do a lot of browning and soups that simmer on low. Simmering beans and thick soups is not a good idea with this pan. Stocks and thin liquids do fine. "My New Favorite Pot", I bought two smaller Calphalon saucepans and loved them so much I couldn't wait to get this one. It replaces a non-stick stock pot and I couldn't be happier with it. It heats well and cooks evenly and is so pretty. I will eventually replace all my non-stick with Calphalon Tri-Ply. I know you could spend more money than this on cookware, but for me, the gumbo won't taste any better! ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "it works", It's stable, easy to clean, rapid to heat, easy to lift, and a good price. And you can see stuff cooking without letting the heat escape. "Perfect size for pasta, soups, veggies -- stock, too!", A whole chicken or chicken carcas fit in easily. Spagetti fits in whole without waiting for the ends to soften. But it's not too big, either. We had already fallen in love with the graceful Calphalon Tri-ply line and pounced when this stockpot came up at discount. We were missing this size and after a month it is already well established as a favorite. This is the size and shape for pasta, soups and stews, and veggies you want to blanch to a bright green in copious boiling water. And stocks, of course! The even heat, comfortable weight, smooth pouring, easy clean-up, glass lid, and graceful styling in this line make it a winner -- at this price, you can't loose. "Great cooking performance, perfect size, easy cleanup.", I bought the Calphalon Tri-Ply 8 quart stockpot to match other Calphalon Tri-Ply pots and pans I own. The stockpot is more compact than you might imagine - the diameter is the same as 10" Calphalon saute pans and the lids interchange. As others have said, the cooking performance is first rate, with the pot being thick and heavy enough to heat evenly, but light enough to lift easily. The thing I like best is that after using the pot a few times, I found this is a great do-it-all pot. Big enough to boil up a lot of pasta and (no suprise) good soup/stock and still compact enough to use it as a dutch oven for pot roasts. Although taller than a typical dutch oven, the tall sides are actually an aid it controlling spatter when browning a roast. The handles are placed at just the right height to allow easy pouring, which is aided by the nice curved rim. Although big enough for most any task, it's still small enough to fit in the dishwasher. Since it's stainless steel, it will survive dishwasher cleaning, something you can't do with anodized aluminum pots. It may sound like a stretch, but if I could only have ONE cooking pan, the Calphalon Tri-Ply 8 quart stockpot would be my choice. "Great pot", This is a super pot that is easy to clean after letting it soad or using Bar Keepers Friend "I like it", My wife and I have both learned now. This pot has a good flat bottom and transfers heat better than our older pots with slightly warped bottoms. This won't effect many people but we have flat cast iron burners on our stove and a good flat contact makes a world of difference. Took some getting used to; turning down the heat. ![]() |
