Others say...
"Beautiful experience" What I love about these glasses: they are a beautiful aesthetic experience. Every single thing you put in them looks like a special jewel. It's especially great for appreciating the subtle variations in color produced by different teas. Or holding the dense, deep brownness of coffee in your hand. These glasses are poetic. I try not to review until I've had something for at least a few months. Last March I bought two of these in a set. One broke within a few months. I don't know why. I was careful to wash it properly and treat it gently. The problem was one that caused condensation to build up inside the walls. I immediately replaced it with another set of two, using the same one nearly every day and treating it exactly the same as the other. It has lasted for many months, and that and another are still going (watch it break now I've said that). But the good thing here is that, for ten bucks or so per glass, you get something truly beautiful, and practical for its insulating properties. Even at a high hypothetical replacement rate of, say, four glasses a year for that experience, it's worth it to me. That's less than most people's cable bill for a month. It's an affordable pleasure in a world of increasing expenses. Be careful. Slide ice in gently, stir slowly. Don't bang them around in the sink. But if one breaks, go get another. The aesthetic experience is more than worth it. "We love these glasses!" These glasses are beautiful and functional. We like them for coffee. The double wall keeps the coffee hot and since they're clear you can see the rich color of a good coffee. One does have to be careful; the glass is thin (which adds to their elegance), so they are a bit fragile. "Hi Ball Glasses" I purchased these glasses for serving cocktails on our patio because they do not sweat or leave rings on the table. These last 4 glasses I purchased do sweat and do leave rings on the tables. I will purchase locally next time so that if they sweat I can return them easier. "Classy, oddly lightweight " I love these glasses, and I can see why they got a design award. The glasses are very lightweight but very strong, and they look particularly attractive filled on an coffee table. "insulated glases" Love the glasses. They work great. Only problem is that they seem to break MUCH easier than regular glasses. But I like the insulation so I ended up buying another set. I use them to MW milk to make hot chocolate in the am

What our customer's say! "great thermal glass, no coaster needed", These are great thermal glasses. They keep your drink cold (or hot) and you don't need a coaster. "Great for beer and soda", I have to admit, I'm in love with the whole line of double-wall glass products from bodum. They do the job as advertised- keeping cold drinks cold and warm drinks warm. They also manage to do so in style; the liquid looks like it's suspended and floating in the glass. I've bought a whole bunch of these in different styles and have loved them all. They're much more durable than you'd think too- I've dropped mine on tile a few times and they've always managed to bounce rather than shatter. That isn't to say that I'd recommend bouncing them for kicks though, but they'll make it though an overloaded dishwasher just fine. "Got them on 4 for 3 ! What a bargain.", We have bought quite a lot of these well designed glasses and like them very much. No need for ice in cold drinks and the eight ounce serves well for coffee. Much more sturdy than I imagined. Also guests seem to enjoy them. We will buy more. "Bodum Pavina 12-ounce glasses", Love these glasses because they eliminate puddles on the table with cold beverages. Just the right size. We have given them as gifts and everyone loves them too. "Great for hot or cold", Love my hot tea and there is something very classic about drinking it out of a clear glass. Although the thinner glass is more easily broken, the insulating properties of these double-wall glasses make holding a hot beverage very pleasant. I would definitely recommend Bodum glasses to anyone who enjoys relaxing with a hot or cold beverage. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Fragile and made in China", I like these glasses but they are very fragile. I knew that before buying them because I have several others. My order arrived broken. Amazon quickly sent out a replacement set. What I didn't know is that they are now made in China! I wish Amazon would list the country of origin. I won't be buying anymore of these. In addition to the poor workmanship of many Chinese goods, I don't trust the Chinese not to shortcut the production to save a few pennies. I can't tell if they are made out of borosilicate glass (Pyrex) or not. If they can save money using leaded glass they will do this. "thermos glassware", These glasses are way too fragile. The glasses are delicate and really cannot stand up to normal usage. "Must Have", I first saw these glasses at a relatives home. I fell in love with them immediately and used them the entire week I was there. She said she purchased hers at Bed Bath and Beyond. A set of 4 for about $25. My local stored doesn't have them, and I've not seen a set that price. I went to the website and then decided to google the name of the glasses once I found out. Then I found them on Amazon and for a slightly cheaper price. I bought two of the 12oz and 9oz. They feel very fragile when first taking them out of the box and then you wonder when you read the warning about not using metal spoons in them and being careful when using ice. But really, I've had them for about two or three weeks now and use them several times a day. It's fine with normal use and probably not fine if you like to slam your ice in or something. I've read in the reviews that there was a hole in the bottom of the glass and water will get caught inside when you wash them. I haven't found that to be the case. I see the sealed up hole where the glass was probably blown out, but I've had no problem with water going inside. I haven't tried the dishwasher yet because I use them so often, I just hand wash and put them back in the cabinet. The glass does get cool to the touch when cold liquid is in there and slightly warm when hot is there, but it does not sweat at all. And I found pouring my hot tea in there doesn't hurt the glass either, if you're worried about the cold from ice or the heat from the drink cracking the glass. I'd suggest trying a set out and seeing how you like them. I used the supersaver shipping so I only paid for the glasses. You have to wait a while before it actually ships, but the process is very quick once it actually ships. Hope this helps:) "Use with Caution", I loved these glasses at first but my opinion quickly changed after one of them broke. I read the reviews on Amazon cautioning you to use care as others had experienced the same thing. I realize they are delicate and you can break them by dropping ice too hard in them but the way in which this broke surprised me. Half way through the drink the liquid level started to drop. We noticed it right away and had a "what the heck?" moment. After holding up the glass and examining it we saw that at some point a quarter sized piece broke around the middle of the cup. It's so crystal clear I don't think we would have noticed the break until the glass was empty or until someone started bleeding in their throat. We were lucky in the fact that we saw the liquid drop in front of our eyes. Anyway, the glasses are beautiful and they do keep beverages hot or cold but I wouldn't recommend them because of the danger. "Great glasses", These are great glasses . . . see review under double-walled beer glasses. I would highly recommend buying these glasses. ![]() |
