"Great for the price"
I bought several Oxo knives from Amazon. They are well balanced and very sharp. I keep them sharp with a ceramic sharpener. I have 2 professional knives that I spent over $50 each for and these knives do not perform any better than the Oxo knives. I love every Oxo kitchen product I've ever bought.

"I love this knife!"
This is the knife I reach for most often. I have two other full size chef knives, plus a smaller chef knife of another brand. But this one feels the best in my hand, doesn't slip, and goes into the dishwasher with ease. It is great for small and medium chopping jobs, which is generally the case for my small family. I have used it for a year and it retains its sharpness with a few passes of a ceramic knife sharpener.

"Great knife - Better and cheaper than competition!"
My wife and I have been looking for a good set of knives for a while now. We were comparing Henckels, Wusthof, and Shun. Then we found OXO Professional. I must say, this knife is as good as those if not better. It has a great balance and feel. It slices, dices, chops, cuts among the best of chef knives. The non-slip handle is great! I have never lost my grip even when the handle was completely wet. This knife is a good comparison to Wusthof Grand Prix II; they are virtually the same except OXO is MUCH cheaper!

We bought this knife to decide if we wanted to buy the complete OXO Professional set and after handling this knife, we decided to buy the complete set. And at $100 for the entire set, you are saving anywhere from $600 - $1000 over the competition!!

Take it from me, if you are looking for good knives at a good price, give OXO a try.

"Great value!"
This is our first "chef's" knife, so my opinion may not carry as much wieght as more experinced cooks.
This knife is the perfect size for cutting chopping dicing etc. It's the new workhorse in our kitchen. the knife is quite sharp after 3 month's of moderate use.

"Great for a first chef's knife"
I've been using utility knives all my life, but wanted to purchase a chef's knife since I'm doing a lot more cooking these days. This OXO knife looked like a good yet inexpensive way to start. The knife is well balanced with a comfortable grip and the length is just right for my smaller than average hands. I'm pleasantly surprised by how easy all my slicing and chopping jobs have become, now that I don't have to apply extra pressure like I had to with my utility knife!

What our customer's say!

"good knife, really Great at price point", I ordered this and 6 other similar knives that have sets under $200 and are well reviewed.

pros: I have to say for the price, after a good sharpening, its an excellent blade, it appears Cast or Forged, though its sold on some sites as Stamped, the shoulder has no joint so it would need to be stamped from 1/2" or bigger stock, so might as well be forged as it is thick and sturdy. its held the edge well, it came fairly sharp, but a little work in a simple sharpener made it almost perfect. handle is super comfy.

I like alot about it, its been run through the dishwasher a few times, no rust, or spots, If you are going to use in the dishwasher, use a heated dry cycle or remove immediately to wipe dry, we are using Electrasol all in 1 Gelpacs, 1 or 2 per load depending on whats in there.

Cons: the rubbery handles may be a food/water trap, only time will tell on that one, they appear fairly snug, but pliable, i've been keeping an eye on it and its not been an issue so far but I'd suspect the dishwasher forcing water up there with soap in it will cause rust eventually. just my opinion though. if you plan to hand wash, I wouldn't be too concerned, because its a tight enough setup that this won't be an issue in hand washing.

"Cuts Like A Knife", Fantastic addition to any knife rack. Easy to hold. Nice balance. Have many other OXO products and always expect them to outperform others. For the price this is well worth buying. I only wish they made sheaths for Kitchen knives so that you could wear them on your belt. Rambo Stylie!

"Grest knife especially for injured hand", This is an amazing knife in general, works great and is very comfortable to hold. I have nerve damage in my right hand from an accident and this is the first knife that I've bought which I can hold comfortably and in which the handle grip doesn't cause me any pain. Highly recommended!

"Great little knife", I purchased this to go with the 'Oxo Good Grips Professional 14-Piece Knife Block Set' that I also purchased on the same day. I'm glad I ordered it because I find myself reaching for a smaller knife many times! :) It works great in a home kitchen!

"Very impresssed", I bought this knife as I wanted a smaller chef's knife, and wasn't in the mood to cough up $50 - $70 for a Henckels. Much to my surprise, I really prefer the feel of this knife in my hand to the feel of my Henckels (I have a set of Henckels Gourmet - not top of the line, but not the cheapest either).

I have used the Oxo for six months, and it remains sharp. I hand-wash and dry it every time I use it, and run it through my ceramic knife sharpener a couple of times before putting it back in the block. I will not hesitate to buy more Oxo knives. The blade seems quite good, and the balance and comfort-level is excellent.

"Niche item, born for the galley!", I chose his knife for several reasons. Economy, size, surehandedness and space limitations, and the knife validates my expectations. I selected the 6" OXO MV55-Pro hoping it would serve as a compromise tool on my boat. Inexpensive, if it doesn't prove to be durable, stowable & weildable aboard, no slip ups underway with the grip, Not overly big, responds to elements well and performs admirably when one steps down (read: up) from an 8" or 10" Chef knife in this environment. No brainer, I would market it to Marine interests. Buy it with confidence!
P.S. Fillet duty is a breeze!
