"BEST GRINDER I HAVE EVER FOUND!"
I had about a dozen grinders home and returned them because they did NOT perform. I didn't care what it cost, but even the most expensive grinders did not grind my coffee coarsely to accomodate my french press.
WHAT A FIND! Not only is it the best grinder, but the PRICE was absolutely more than reasonable. I love the fact that coffee doesn't spew out the sides like some grinders, or residue seeping out like some grinders. CLEAN, NO MESS, and grinds exactly how you want it. CANNOT believe this is a blade grinder. Whats up with all the other manufacturers? Charging high dollar and can't get it right.
Much better than any burr grinder at a franction of cost.
THIS IS A BUY!

"Best blade grinder I've used"
Before this, my favorite grinder was the standard Braun you see everywhere. I brought that one into the office and keep another as a spice grinder, but this Hamilton Beach grinder caught my eye, especially since this silver model was available at half-price!

I know that burr grinders are best, but they're also expensive. I think this blade grinder is a good compromise. My favorite features?

- The removable grinding cup, which makes pouring into the filter basket a breeze and cleaning in the sink much easier.
- The internally winding power cord for easy storage
- The set-it and forget it on/off button. For drip coffee, the ideal grinding time is about 15 seconds in a blade grinder. I've timed the Hamilton and it's within a second of that time.
- The capacity. My old grinder held about 12 Tablespoons of beans, tops. The Hamilton can hold more than 15, which makes a full pot.

Now, I'm thinking about getting another one to bring to the office, too. Hmmm.

"Not a coffee expert, but does a nice job"
Fantastic little grinder. I love that it is dishwasher safe and has a retractable power cord. It replaced a broken blade grinder which kept sticking and stopped working because it was very difficult to clean. This one is a snap.

"Wonderful!!!!!"
Never had a problem with this and use it a lot. I prefer freshly ground coffee. Made well, removeable parts wash well on top rack of dishwasher. I love this little machine!!!!!!!!!!!

"Wow! Great for a blade grinder..."
After the death of my favorite grinder (KitchenAid Mill) I was decided to see what was out there that would not cost me $150. I came across the worlds worst coffee grinder. A DeLonghi that is obviously so crappy I can't even find a link to show you as warning. I found this grinder and, after 10 years in the coffee business and swearing that blade grinders sucked, took a chance. I can't tell you how stoked I am on this grinder. Not only does it take the guess work out of how long to grind (timer and grind setting is killer) it does not leave the mess that a burr grinder can. Coffee, by nature, will fly everywhere when grinding. This grinder keeps mess to a minimum. I love this grinder. I paid _way_ more out of desperation and would do it again.

Why did I give it a 4? Well, it is more consistent that any other blade grinder I have seen/tried but it does still leave some chunks. Nothing major. Also, the settings are not always accurate. Coffee grind is something that you need to tweak. How long to grind depends on what your favorite coffee is. I practically need to set it to percolator grind for the coffee I use to get the coffee fine enough for my brewer. I think that this grinder and others should explain this in the manual. Also, the plastic shield is not dishwasher safe but the grind cup is. Another pet peeve is coffee equipment that is not washed well on a regular basis. If a part needs to be washed it should be able to withstand your dishwasher. Otherwise people don't wash stuff!! Eewww!!

What our customer's say!

"DIED AFTER A FEW MONTHS", MOTOR SMOKED AND DIED AFTER A FEW MONTHS. CAN'T FIND THE WARRANTY, IF THERE IS ONE. NO WARRANTY INFORMATION ON THE BOX. I USUALLY AUTOMATICALLY SAVE MANUALS AND WARRANTIES SO I'M NOT SURE IF I RECEIVED THEM.

"Good and stylish coffee grinder", It's incredible how is easy to use. One touch and you have a good coffee according to your preference. It's not perfect to grind beans for a espresso machines but you can get a good "point" - coarseness or fineness - to these machines mixing the 2 preset levels for espresso on your Hamilton Grinder.

"hamiltonb80384 custom coffee grinder", we love our hamilton beach 80384 deluxe custon coffee grinder. Our coffee taste so much better. WE would reconmend this to anyone.I wish we had bought this long ago.

"Somewhat disappointing", Looks nice on the counter, does a great job grinding. But the plastic top tends to shift slightly when the machine is working. This shuts off the motor (safety switch requires the top to be in exact place). I have to hold the top in place while grinding the coffee. Annoying.

"Custom grind delux rating", This all started a few months ago. I purchased a Magic Bullet. After like two uses O ring broke on blender and chopper very soon after. After that it leaked without seal when using liquids. Not good. Gave it away.
Next bought a cheap blender from Target. If I put more than 1 cup of tomato sauce or liquids it leaked through center opening post. Returned it to target.
Then purchased a Girmi for only $30 from Amazon. This thing is powerful. Did a good job however if I added more than a cup of liquid it came out through center opening post down to rotator. I will be giving it away soon.
Then I purchased this HB80384 Deluxe. This does a great job as did Girmi at chopping Ceylon cinnamon sticks except same problem if you start using liquid or more than a cup it squirts out from top around stainless bowl and out. not good.
I tried using some cat food lids to cover stainless bowl and then using a paper clip, push activator switch in real of unit. Not good. Liquid comes out. Then found a cat/dog food lid at Petmart. You can see it at www.ourpets.com it is one with like two recess edges and slit in top. It fits perfectly into top of Stainless bowl then using plastic outside cover of HB 80384 it fits into recess in top of plastic lid giving a greater seal. However you still have to use a paper clip to activate switch at rear. A little annoying so decided I needed a larger bowel and more sealing and chopping but not much more than a cup
Point of all this I am trying to mix Ceylon Cinnamon sticks with powdered Cocoa and Water or tomato sauce and spices with flax seed. Blenders will not chop up flax seed or Ceylon Cinnamon small enough. I do have a blender however it is too much trouble to first chop sticks in chopper and then transfer results to a blender for final blend. I'll be giving this one away too.
Now I purchased a Black & Decker EHC650 Ergo 3-Cup from Amazon. It should arrive tomorrow. Cup size is more than 1 which is good and less than 8 which is good. I sure hope it does Ceylon Cinnamon sticks than adding powdered Cocoa and water to produce a finish result in one bowl.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Great blade grinder", This is a great grinder! I paid a 1/3 less than this at Target, so for what I paid, it was an excellent value. I use it to grind coffee for my coffee press & it does a good job & it is so easy to use! You set the dial, set the amount to be ground & then push the button & watch it rip. I don't have problems with my lid coming off like the previous reviewer but I am only grinding a small amount so it might not be as prone if it isn't full??

The grind is not uniform like a burr grinder produces but it is plenty satisfactory for press pots & drip makers. I have no bits in my coffee so I am happy! The adjustments work well & are flexible.

I am very pleased with this grinder but I would not have bought it if it cost more than what I paid. I recommend going to your local Target & paying what it is worth!

"Decent grinder", This grinder has worked well enough for me. The biggest problem I have with it is that the plastic lid rattles loose while grinding--so you need to hold it in place to keep it running. This is a minor deficit since most grinders need their tops held on while grinding.
