"wonderful" this was an awesome purchase. it has never been easier to throw a meal together and have a masterpeice in a few hours. "Replacement Knob" My knob broke after about 5 uses. I e-mailed the company about a replacement and got no response. After reading through the reviews, I saw a suggestion to go to Radio Shack to get a replacement knob. Of course they didn't have one exactly like the one that originally came on the slow cooker (which is probably a good thing since it was such poor quality), but I got a knob that has a little screw in it that can be tightened to allow it to turn the stem. It seems to work fine. I think I paid $2.99 for it. Otherwise the slow cooker works great. "no customer support at all" I love the way it cooks, BUT the knob broke after I'd had it for about a month, and used it about 4 times (once a week). I glued it back together (as I saw someone else had done in a previous review) but the knob broke again today, and I'd only used it about 3 times since glueing it. I tried to get help from their customer support and was put off and then just ignored. I would recommend buying something else other than this one. "Cholent pot!" I make cholent every week - a stew which cooks for 18-24 hours before we eat. This pot's a winner. It holds the temperature well. It doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" of other slow cookers and because it's oval, it takes less space on my counter than my old slow cooker. I do indulge myself and use "crockpot liners" which makes serving and clean up easy. The Hamilton Beach 33141 is a reasonable price and delivery was quick - even though I took only standard delivery. "Crockpot for small family" This compact crockpot takes little space and produces great meals. Using all leftovers however small and adding liquid and spices give a hot, satisfying meal. We love it. Any Hamilton Beach product has my vote anyhow.

What our customer's say! "Wonderful!", I have a 7 quart crock and a smaller 1.5 quart crock, but needed and in between. This has fit the bill perfectly! "Good slow cooker, predictable, no surprises", Gave it as a gift. This works great as a basic slow cooker (crockpot). No surprises here. I have several slow cookers and to me the best is still my West Bend Versatility slow cooker. I came across this (and also bought it from Amazon) through Cook's Illustrated top pick review. I like the WB better because the pot is metal and separates from the base. This means you can take it over the stove and brown meats or sear then move it to the base plate for slow cooking. "dial broke.", I bought this crock pot a few month ago and it works well except for the plastic dial and plastic surround. The prolonged heat seems to have weakened the plastic and it has broken apart. So now, in order to change the temp, I have to use pliers. Other than that the crock pot works great. I like the oval design for my roasts and odd shaped meats. "slow cooker", It is a nice attractive cooker.It seems to work quite well,but the cover knob is irritating.I like the 4quart size. "the slow cooker is pretty good for its price", It is really nice. It saves me a lot of time for cooking. However there are two things that I don't like. One is that the cover is not very fit to the container. Besides I hope there is a signal light which can make me know it is cooking or not. Anyway, as it is big enough, I think it is very good for this low price. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "good product", it works well. So far I only cooked a roast beef and some lamb and they both were very tender and tasty. The only negative thing is the recipe book, which is too small: I needed to figure out by myself how to cook my stuff. "info to get broken knob replaced...", My knob broke the 2nd time I used it. They said they would mail a new knob to me (no charge), but they were on back order and no indication as to when it would be received. You'll need model # and serial #, they are both located on the bottom of the unit. Hopefully, the knob has been improved upon. It's gonna be pretty annoying if I get the replacement knob and it is made from the same junk as the first one. The 4 qt is the perfect size for two people. I've had it for over three months now and use it about 1-3 times a week. The knob (which I've been gentle with) and crock pot non-stick lining have held up just fine. The lid stays sealed and my food always cooks evenly. There is no built-in timer or retractable cord on this model like the more expensive ones out there, but that has not been an issue for me. The oval shape is very practical and useful too. Lastly, I like that it is a stylish addition to my kitchen. "smallish slow cooker", i had this on my wish list, and was given it as a christmas gift - it is Smaller then i was expecting - BUT i've learned to adjust my cooking to the machine -- and it sure cleans up easily enough - "JUST RIGHT SIZE", This was a xmas gift for my single son and it is just the perfect size for one or two people. Plus it is great looking, very modern. |
