"Don't waist your money!", I bought this coffee maker, plus a bunch of different brand pods. I purchased this because of online reviews posting this as a good machine. I even bought one for my mother-in-law. I didn't want to buy the high priced K-cup machine.

I have tried everything and can not get a decent cup of coffee. Sometimes the machine gives me less than the 7oz or 9oz that I've selected. I've doubled and even tripled the pods per cup and I'm not a espresso lover. The coffee is ALWAYS weak - perfect if you like tinted water. Even my mother-in-law can't get a good cup, so it's not just my machine.

I expected more from Black & Decker. I gave it one star only because the online review makes you select something and it doesn't provide negative stars.

"Can you say, "what a waste?"", I brought this machine to work to be able to make one cup of coffee at a time. It worked great for less than a week and then gave up. A little cool water would run through and then the two top blue lights would flash. Took out the coffee and tried just plain water. Nothing. Unplugged, refilled, cursed, prayed, begged... nothing. What a waste!

"I love the Home Cafe", The Home Cafe is my absolute favorite coffeemaker. I have others but I almost never use them. I love this product.

"Home Cafe", I have enjoyed using this coffee maker. It makes 1 cup at a time and the coffee is hot and delicious. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a single cup coffee maker.

"A good machine for the price", I was very excited when I got this coffee maker because being able to make one or two cups of coffee at a time is a beautiful thing. I was also given some Java One pods with it and initially I was very disappointed because the coffee was weak. I learned that although all pods look basically the same they aren't and the non Home Cafe ones don't make a tight seal thus the watery coffee. I then bought the Folger's pods which you are supposed to use and they worked wonderfully. However, the flavor options are very limited.

After looking around like crazy for a solution to this dilemma several people recommended using a regular coffee filter with regular ground coffee of your choosing. I tried it and it works! You have to use the two pod insert and trim the filter a bit but then you just scoop in the coffee (I did around a tablespoon), pack it down, fold a bit of filter over top so you don't make a mess, and hit the button. It'll make a nice 7 oz or 9 oz cup and depending on how much coffee you pack in you can adjust the strength (if you really fill it to the max you can probably do the 14 oz cup too). It's also nice to know you have this option available because if pods fall out of favor you'd be stuck with a big paper weight. The more finely ground coffees tend to work better.

I like the machine but it has some quirks which some people may not like. It's noisy when it's brewing. It also has a nasty habit of splashing coffee while brewing which makes a bit of a mess if you aren't using a tall mug. It's nice that you can use a tall mug though. As I mentioned before if you use pods other than the recommended ones you get junky watery coffee. The pods for the machine have limited flavor options and are a bit pricey but still cheaper than buying a cup at Starbucks or D&D. The coffee isn't incredibly hot so if you add milk or cream it might seem too cold to some people. I can't comment on creamy pods because I haven't tried one and I haven't had any problems as far as clean up.

If you don't mind being a little flexible for your coffee maker this is a good machine. Like all things it has it's limits but for me the price was right. I use pods on work days when I'm in a hurry and when I'm home I can take the time to use the "filter method" and make whatever flavor or brand of coffee I want.

"Dreadful small appliance", From the first day I got this coffee maker it wouldn't work...it would not bring the water from the reservoir through to the coffee pod. Spoke with customer service at length & they finally agreed the thing was defective. I returned it & received a replacement...two days later...same problem. Recommendation....do not waste your money on this model! Only reason I'm giving it one star is because I'm forced to rate it or this review would not be published.

"A Great Individual Coffeemaker for an Unbelievable Price", This coffeemaker is even better the second time around...I bought one several years ago to use at work. It finally bit the dust, and I decided to replace it with a new one of the same brand. The new one is more sturdy; the pod holder pops ups and down much better, and it has a light to show when to brew cycle is complete. The coffee tastes great, and the price was only $19.99!

"absolute junk", This machine is garbage. Get a $20 4-cup programmable coffee pot instead--it will make actual, real, drinkable coffee, as opposed to the coffee-scented hot water this machine produces. I am giving mine to charity. N.B.: the "presto" thingie to use your own coffee instead of pods that amazon will try to sell you with it does not work with this machine.

"Stupid coffee maker", I bought this maker for my mother a while ago and after a few months it stopped working & now it just makes sounds then 2 buttons start blinking. I can't seem to fix it. I thought she was doing something wrong all this time but now I can see its just a sucky product. I'm really disappointed in Black&Decker. They used to be such a good and reliable company.

"1 cup coffe maker", my husband is only one who drinks coffee in our house-loves that he can get a fresh cup everytime---replaced older version of same coffee pot-larger cup holder size real nice-so far its been great
