"Great!"
I vary using this and my smaller dutch ovens. Ive cooking decent large beef roasts and cornish game hens in this tagine. Great when you can get a slight boil on the lowest heat setting.

"Emile Henry Tagine"
Emile Henry 2.6 qt. Tagine, BlackThis cooking utensil works great. Consisting of a ceramic designed by Emile Henry to stand the cooking heat of either stove-top or oven, it works far better than the usual native styles of tagine and is also useful as a handsome stove to table to refrig cooking-serving casserole. It is especially designed, however for the production of those tasty Moroccan dishes known variously as cous-couses (actually the 'stew' part of a cous-cous) and is named for the dish created in it, namely, a 'tagine' or rich and spicy meat and vegetable stew of the sort beloved by Moroccans and others.

"Excellent value"
This tagine is beautiful. It's almost a piece of art work. It is very functional in addition to looking good in the kitchen and dining room. We love serving friends and family with this new additon. It's a great buy.

"Better Than The Traditional"
I love tagine cooking. I purchased a traditonal clay one years ago. You had to soak it overnight in cold water before use. I hadn't used in in over a year and I knew I was taking a chance when I didn't bother to soak it. I even smiled as I watched the crack form and spread. At last I had an excuse to purchase this one!

Dishwasher safe! No soaking, although you do need to boil milk in it before the first use. This size feeds six. I lucked out and found a black one at Crate and Barrel Outlet.

Although I was annoyed with the upkeep of a tradtional tagine, I didn't want to switch to stainless steel or cast iron. This new glazed clay is a wonderful innovation.

This one cooks evenly. Cleans up easily and is nice enough to serve from at the table. If you are serious about the cuisine, this is the one to purchase. I'm concerned about the cast iron and stainless steel ones by other companies. Those aren't traditional materials and they conduct heat much more effeciently. The food may cook too quickly. This is as close to the original as you can get without the prep and cleanup hassles that come with it.

"Great!"
We bought the Tagine more than a month ago and use it regulary. We make in it everything from meat, potatoes and Rice. It cooks the food fast and it is easy to clean and looks great on the shelf

What our customer's say!

"A happily received gift!", I bought this Emile Henry Tagine as a gift for my daughter's boyfriend, who had been looking for one for a long time. I chose this one for several reasons: it can be used both on the stove top or in the oven; it can go directly on gas or electric burners without a diffuser; their technology allows it to be used on high heat and to go from freezer to microwave to oven; it is lead-free (not always true of imported ones) and it is very beautiful!
They called me as they were eating their first meal cooked in it, a delicious and original concoction of chicken, squash, chinese 5-spice mix, apricots and cinnamon. They reported that it cooked beautifully, cleaned up easily, and looks great in the kitchen.
I bought from Amazon because of the lowest price and quickest service getting it to me. I ordered on a Tuesday and no other vendor could promise that I would have it by Friday! (Even with fast delivery service, they couldn't get the order processed and get it out their door fast enough.) With Amazon, it arrived perfectly on time as promised.

"Love my tagine!", I bought this tagine last year and have very much enjoyed using it for slow-cooked Moroccan and African dishes (typically requiring 4-8 hours cooking time). The results are a bit different than using a crock-pot, although the process is similar; the difference is probably due to the conical shaped lid. This model is suitable for stove top use; the less expensive and smaller imported Moroccan ceramic versions are meant to be used in an oven, and they are prone to thermal stress cracking if you're not careful. Le Creuset also makes a tagine (cast iron, similar in price to the EH model); I elected to purchase the Emile Henry ceramic version because its more closely related to the traditional design, and you can braise your meat directly in the bottom part right on the stove prior to slow cooking. This tagine is large enough to easily prepare a meat and vegetable dish for 2-4 people, and it cleans up very nicely. Highly recommended because it's an effective means of turning inexpensive meat cuts into mouth-wateringly tender and tasty stews.

"Excellent Product !!!", I can't praise the Emily Henry Co. for this product. The craftmanship is
superb and this isn't just another cheap over priced product. I've cooked tagines on the stovetop on medium at perfection. The design allows the flavors to recirculate and permeate the food. My chicken apricot sauce with pinenuts was perfect! I have also used it to brown steaks, then
slow cooked to tender. I think I've just found the perfect replacement for the slow cooker. It's really that wonderful.

"Easy to use tagine", We've created some amazingly tasty Moroccan dinners using the tagine on the stove top. And best of all, when you're done the tagine simply goes into the dishwasher.

"Well worth the cash !", Emile Henry Flame Top Tagine 12.5", Red I got a wonderful price on this item...74.95 plus free shipping! I couldn't decide if this was really what I wanted, hubby is sick of the kitchen gadgets I buy, no room left in the kitchen. But this was worth the investment by far. This is sturdy, but light weight stoneware I have ever seen. Cooks even, and moist, clean up NO problem, and it is a eye stunning piece. Eggs are wonderful in this, and meats fall off the bone. This was a great investment for my kitchen, and I recommend everyone try using this . The cooking is sooo flavorfull !

"Moroccan cooking", I am very pleased overall w/ this product. My husband is Moroccan and we cook tagines probably 5 times a week. We had been previously using a very small clay tagine from Morocco and needed a larger size. We have cooked a wide array of foods in this tagine and are very happy w/ all the results. Not to mention, it also looks wonderful displayed on our range top when not in use. The heat is evenly distributed and the steam is circulated well in the conical lid. The one thing I would do to enhance this product is to create a small hole for venting. For now, we prop it open on occasion w/ a wooden spoon. We have requested the smaller (9.5") tagine for a gift.

"Great Cooking Experience", Wow, 90 bucks for a pot seems kinda hefty but this sucker really is worth it. Packaging was good, came fast and I've used it 4 times already in the past two weeks. This is not only for cooking moroccan food but others as well. Meats prepared on stovetop for 2 - 2.5 hours are incredibly tender and juicy, based over and over again with the lid shape designed the way it is. So far did beef, chicken, pork and gonna do a turkey breast later this week and I cant wait. I love it and leave it on my counter top cause I love the way it looks too! Seems pretty solid, i forgot I left it in the oven and had it pre-heating at 425 for an hour. Seems to be quite sturdy too!
