"french press coffee" I really love my french press coffee maker. It is perfect for two good size cups of coffee and perfect for when I do not want to make a whole pot of regular coffee & the coffee always tastes better. "Pressing makes better coffee" I had been reading about coffee presses on the web, and I thought that I'd give one a try. It was not only super easy to use, it makes the BEST coffee. The only thing that I found miss leading is that it says that it's an 8 cup capacity. I can barely add 4 cups of hot water and we usually get 3-4 "cups" out of a pot. But, I love the product and it's great coffee. Thank you! "My First French Press" Turned out to be a pretty well made little jewel. Easy to break down and clean. This is the only one I have ever owned, but I would definately recommend it to anyone looking for one. "Great buy" I do like using this more than the automatic coffee maker. The flavor is richer w/ this product. "Broken Dreams..." Well my significant other constantly reminds me of how I made her leave her french press in London when we moved to California. So as part of her Mother's Day gift I bought this one based on the reviews. It looked much nicer than the one she left behind as well. Well on Mother's Day she opens it up, and I had bought some nice turkish coffee to go with, and lo and behold, the glass beaker was shattered into a million pieces. Shocking to say the least, especially since it's made of pyrex or similar shock/heat resistant glass. So I had to return it to Amazon, and not wanting to ruin the gesture, I went to Cost Plus and bought the exact same press (it was $4 more, plus tax, so say $7 more). The replacement one works very well and she loves it, so I give it a four star rating despite not actually getting it from Amazon. I did get my refund from Amazon within a week or returning the broken item.

What our customer's say! "Great Coffee!!", This makes an excellent cup of Joe! It's a perfect size for one person. Very easy and quick to use. In a few of the past reviews, it mentioned that the glass was too thin... it seems fine to me but there is a warning not to add boiling water so as long as your water isn't too hot, I don't really forsee it being a problem. I love mine and I'll never give it up! "Great Product - Just Wish It Wasn't Breakable!", This was the 2nd coffee press for me. The first one was bought over 5 years ago and I broke the beaker last year. I searched all over to find a replacement beaker, which I finally found at Starbucks for $15, and then broke the second beaker last month. I ordered the complete product (w/s&H) for less than $20 via Amazon and couldn't be happier. We use it every day. "Best coffee ever!", Ditch your drip and percolated coffee makers. You'll get the best cup of coffee you've ever tasted from this product. It's quick, simple, and the coffee is delicious. This way of making a good cup of coffee has always been an old standby in Europe and for good reason. Europeans don't put up with bad tasting coffee. "Reeeeeally Good Coffee!", This is the best way to brew a really great cup of coffee. No oxidation means bold flavor without any bitterness. Much less trouble and mess than a coffee maker if you only want a cup or two. "Bodum makes great pressed coffee", Our new Bodum coffee press makes wonderful coffee which is so easy to prepare anytime. Just boil up some water, place your freshly ground coffee directly in the coffee press (we grind our own from fresh whole coffee beans), pour on the hot water, steep for four minutes, then press! We love the fact that you no longer need a paper filter, (which take out some of the essential coffee oils). So you get a full rich brew! The only problem was we thought that this coffee press would actually make 8 cups, as it was advertised as an 8 cup press....but since we use mugs which hold 6-8 oz. each, we barely get three mugs from a full brewed pot. So this was a bit of a disappointment. Other than that, we just love the coffee we make in this coffee press! Delicious! 
Read this reviews before You buy... "nice and easy", It took me a few times using this to warm up to making coffee this way as being better than using a Melita type filter. It isn't better but it is easier. There's no magic about it but the coffee is good and the pot is quite attractive on the table. The measuring of the water and coffee and the amount of grinding to the coffee are important to the results. I am using it now and enjoying it. "Best coffee maker", My husband loves making coffee in this. Best way to make coffee ever if you like goooood coffee! Won't/can't go back to regular coffee makers after using this. It's easy to use and even easier to clean. The only down side is that if you drop it in the sink the glass probably won't survive. It's ok, you just order the replacement beaker. "A great way to experience your coffee!!!", I'm very particular about my coffee, and I knew that while I would be traveling to some very remote parts of Greece, I would not have the luxury of going into town for a cup of my own blend. Although on occasion I would frequent the locals and sample their fine "Greek Cafe" I always had a craving for the brew I know so well. I was amazed at the results I got from the coffee press. The instructions were very easy to follow and I took the time to experiment with just the right measure of grounds and water to arrive at a taste that came very close to what I would get back at my locale. The filter system on this press is one of the best I've come across and the unit itself is made of durable material. The best part is, it cleans up so easily, that I was making coffee throughout the day. A great way to have your coffee and a taste that you'll surely enjoy!!!! "Works As Expected", May take a little getting used to regarding strength/taste you're looking for. I actually use more coffee now than with a drip maker (not sure if that is typical or not). Please note the other posts related to number of cups. Personally, I don't think this is an issue. You don't get 12 cups from a 12 cup Mr. Coffee maker either unless they are very small cups. This 32 oz. unit will make a maximum of 3 mugs which works for me. "It works swell!", When I read all of the reviews for Bodum products, I was really worried I would end up getting a very small press! This is even big for myself, and I drink a lot of coffee! Don't consider this a "European" model, treat it as you would a Mr. Coffee drip cup size. :o) I get eight small cups out of this (and no, not those "elven sized" ones people fret about... :) and four rather large ones, as well. I had no trouble pressing, the glass was intact when I got it, and it holds the heat incredibly well. My only gripe about this product is there is no "measuring" line for how many cups you are about to make! I know they have it on other models, so I have no idea why its gone from this one. I end up using a measuring cup for my water before I pour it in over my grind (because making all eight cups would be pointless for me as the sole-coffee drinker in the house hold. I usually fill it half-way.). This is really great for someone who has a lot of company, or if there are a lot of coffee drinkers in the house. It makes *excellent* coffee, just a bit too much for a sole drinker! :) If you're getting it for yourself, get the four-cup model. You'll be glad you did! |
