"Size Does Matter"
I have been very happy with this coffee pot. My husband and I are both coffee drinkers and this machine eliminates the "empty pot syndrome". Programming is simple and the quality of the coffee taste is excellent. I do agree the lid is awkward and I would much prefer the lid that flips up with one motion over the current lid that must be lifted off and snapped back on to the carafe. As for the resevoir not being visible, the carafe is clearly marked for 4, 6 or 8 cups etc. If you utilize the carafe as a measure, rather than trying to eyeball an internal measure, you will resolve your concerns about the amount of water you are using.

We are very pleased with this product and were it not for the lid, I would give it 5 stars.

"Best Cuisinart Coffeemaker I have owned!"
This coffeemake looks great, brews more cups than my old ones, and coffee even tastes better! Buy it, you'll love it.

"Almost, but not quite"
This is a superb machine. Instructions are complete, easy to understand, and clear. And the coffee!!! Superb! I retired an old "Mr. Coffee" and decided to spend nearly $100 on this machine after reading some reviews. While I agree with most of the "negatives" I've found, I certainly don't consider them that bad. You can see the clock, but it should be a bit larger and lit. You can see the water level indicators, but it would help if these were represented on the outside of the machine, not the inside. Yes the water drips a bit from the lid if you open it during or just after the coffee finishes brewing...so don't open it so soon! Everything else is superb.
My old machine was really poor; it took over 2 HOURS to finish a twelve cup decanter!!!
This machine does a 14 cup decanter in exactly 12 minutes and 15 seconds - I timed it!
You can find this machine at Macys Online, and Kohls Department store as well as Amazon.
Higly recommend...would have given it a 4.9 out of 5 if that were possible!

"Just Adequate coffeemaker"
I have used this coffeemaker for six months after reluctantly giving up my Black & Decker spacemaker model (not being made any more). At $83 plus more for shipping, this is just an okay price; you can do better through Costco even though you have to pay tax. Generally, this coffeemaker is overkill unless there are two or more caffeine addicts in the house. My husband and I will drain the pot daily. At 5'3" I cannot see the water level, but we figured out the correct amount of water to use. We fill it with a 4 cup (with alternate metric markings) Pyrex measuring cup; it actually takes 2 liters for 14 cups plus two scoops of coffee. The major disappointment for me with this coffeemaker is that the pause feature doesn't completely shut off the flow of coffee; it drips several drops while you are pouring yourself a cup, unlike Black & Decker models, which never, ever drip during brewing. This is a design flaw, pure and simple. Also, the coffeemaker makes quite a bit of noise while brewing. Postscript: I forgot to mention that the plastic lid is difficult to place on the glass caraffe; you have to get it just right without forcing it on. The only reason this item gets 3 stars is that it does make good coffee. However, the design flaws listed above shouldn't be present in a high end coffeemaker.

"So far, great!"
Like many others, we have had a number of coffeemakers over the years, with a range of prices and features. We're really pretty easy to please: large capacity, pause & pour, automatic shut-off. One of our major irritations has been coffee dribbling from a carafe while pouring. I read many reviews before this purchase, but what I like best is that it is the cleanest-pouring coffeemaker we've ever had!
We find the coffee easy to make (gold filter included, btw), and it's been consistently tasty. The temperature is hot enough. Easy to clean.
I really did not expect so much...but now I feel that I would buy this product again.

What our customer's say!

"Love this coffee pot!!", I did alot of research before I bought this coffee pot. It had such good reviews so I thought we would try it and it is everything I had hoped it would be! The coffee is so nice and HOT, I have never had a coffee pot like this before! A 5 star for sure!!!

"Love, love, love this coffeemaker!", Rec'd this coffeemaker in a timely manner and it was just as described.
Can't share enough about how much we love it. The coffee is easy to prepare and it comes out piping hot just as we enjoy it. Features are great and directions are easy to follow.
We definitely recommend it!

"Poor design", The water indicator is indeed difficult to read - but not as difficult to read as the lcd display, which is tiny and unlit - you need to get face to face with it.

The water resevoir has a relatively small and awkwardly shaped opening - care is required when filling to avoid spillage.

The control knob is impossible to turn if your hands are wet.

The filter ripped soon after I purchased it.

You have to take extra care to keep the internal plastic cone clean, or you will get grind overflow when you make the full 14 cups - this has happened to me twice - a mess.

Brewing is relatively slow.

The lid does not hinge, but can only be removed.

The auto-off system turns off way too soon for me and is not adjustable.

The unit is overpriced.

The coffee it makes is fine - I'm no expert, and the unit is attractive.

"Good coffee, though a little slow.", This model replaced an excellent Braun, which died after many years of faithful service. Since I use a Brita filter system for all my drinking water, I don't use the Cuisinart filter. Compared to the Braun, the Cuisinart is slower, even when using the 1-4 cup setting, but it does make good coffee. As the manual indicates, even though there is a brew pause feature, it's better to wait until all the coffee has brewed if you want uniform taste. The inside gauge which some have complained about is slightly inconvenient, so I pour my filtered water into a carafe which is marked in two-ounce increments. As most people know, the claimed cup capacity for all coffeemakers is overstated; I find that it takes about 11 ounces of water to brew an average mug-sized cup.

"Very poor delivery!!!!", Coffee maker is fine. Another wise fine delivery was ruined by the fact that DHL dropped the item at the US Post-office and failed to notify us and the delivery was delayed for many days, and aggravated by the worry of UHL tracking saying that the order was out for delivery. Very very shoddy business practices!!!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Great until it burned up", I LOVED my new coffee maker. It does drip a bit when the carafe is removed during the brewing, but not a big deal. Today, though, at 10 months old, it caught on fire! Thankfully, my husband and I were sitting right there, at the table, enjoying a cup of coffee and heard an unfamiliar noise. The leftover coffee was boiling, the machine was OFF, and when the machine was tipped back, I could see FLAMES inside! Took it outside and used the hose on it, so no harm done, but what IF! We are replacing it with an exact model but have learned to UNPLUG small appliances if we're not going to be home!

"Almost as Good", We got this one because our 12-Cup Brew Central was ready to be retired. We loved it and what would be better on Sunday morning than a 14-Cup? On the plus side, it makes very good coffee, and more. It's easier to put water into. On the down side, the knobs are harder to turn and you can't regulate the temperature on the hot plate. You must use the included gold metal filter to avoid the grounds overflowing on to the top. Bottom line: it makes very good coffee and is a good quality machine.

"This Pot Rocks!!", I have worn out several coffeemakers and was less than satisfied until I got this one and man what a coffee maker. I have on hand at anyone time about 6 or 7 coffee's from around the world and mix and match beans randomly. This coffeemaker makes a perfect cup every time. I have not had one problem with anything including overfilling it. I also always put a paper filter under the wire basket which makes for a better cup of coffee without the left over sludge in the bottom of the pot. I would recomend this coffeemaker to anyone who wants a good hot cup of coffee. I chose this coffeemaker over the Cuisinart with built in grinder because of the hassel from these types of coffeemakers.Get it youl LOVE it.

"Designed by a non-coffee drinker", Problems: Reservoir water level not visible from exterior. I have a little flashlight beside it so I am able to see down inside to read how many cups of water I've poured in. The lid is a hassle to snap back on. I don't bother anymore. The only good thing is that the coffee is very hot.

"Love this Coffee Maker ! !", I have had this coffee maker for seven months and it makes great coffee every time. Lots of hot coffee available any time I want it. Very reliable. I can see the water level indicator fine. Coffee maker also comes in a 12 cup version, but go ahead and get the larger 14 cup size. You can make small amounts of coffee or a whole pot, it all turns out just fine and always nice and hot. I like lots of iced coffee, so I make a lot throughout the day and transfer it into other containers. I also entertain a lot, so this coffee maker has had quite a lot of use!
