"Excellent Air Circulating Vornado", By far the best fan I have ever experienced in my life!
Have you ever in your life layed down on the floor on a hot day because the temp. on the floor was cooler? Well, with this device you dont have to lay down anymore to get cool. Ive use many other fans in my lifetime, round ones, square ones, oscillating ones, etc. And some of them seemed to work ok and kept me cool sometimes but there were other days where it felt like the only air coming out is hot air. But with the vornado, even on a hot day your air will be cool, just leave it on the ground in your room and point it up. i have a 10 foot ceiling and when i do this the whole room feels cool and I'm also able to feel a cool slight breeze

"Good enough", The price is right. It looks good. It moves the air as promised, but it is noisier than I expected on the medium and hight speed settings.

"Compact. Efficient.", I have several Vornados, and this is the smallest one I have. Item is Vornado 530B three speed compact air circulator. These fans do what they say. They make a 'beam' of air that you can AIM. That's why I like 'em. On low, this one is quiet enough to not hear at all. On high it moves more air than any other comparable fan of it's size. Since this model is smaller, it moves a smaller amount of air, but it's not fair to compare it to it's bigger brothers which are serious air movers. For the price and size, it moves a lot of air. I use it for aiming air to specific areas. My only suggestion to the manufacturer is to move the cord to the side - it comes straight out of the back and gets in the way when I try to put the fan in the window. Still, 5 stars.

"At speed 1 this is not noisy and it gives a nice breeze", Vornado 530B 3 Speed Compact Air Circulator, BlackIt is noisy at 3 but who uses a fan turned all the way up? Altogether it's made good improvement to a room that gets stuffy when it gets the sun in the afternoon and evening. A good little machine, worth the money.

Fits under the desk and keeps the heat generated from all the electronics at bay.

"Great little fan", This vornado fan is excellent for the money. I needed one for my room because in the summer it gets close to 80F and I have trouble sleeping at night. Even in the spring it gets in the upper 70s and stays there. Well I recently purchased this fan, and let me tell you it works great! On the low power, I can feel the breeze it creates 6 feet away. When pointed at the ceiling or wall as suggested, it creates a nice, gentle breeze throughout the room. On the low power it is very quiet, and even on high it is not too bad. Actually, most of the noise it makes comes from the actual movement of the air and not the motor itself. For $35, it is well worth every penny.

"Vornado fan not "whisper quiet." ", My fan is not whisper quiet. It is quite noisy. I bought it for my office (I'm a psychologist). It makes too much noise, I brought it home and am using it here.

"Great fan", This fan is great. No, it is not silent but it certainly falls within the range of normal for noise. This is not a fan you want pointed right at you, it's designed for air circulation. I have one room that always gets hotter than the rest in my house, and this fan works great to circulate air and even out the temperature between rooms. The construction seems solid - yet it is very lightweight.

"Makes too much noise!", I previously owned the Vornado 510W compact air circulating fan, and I was very happy with the low noise level and the air exchange capabilities. Unfortunately after several knocks to the floor over 4 years it stopped working.

Then I order this model (530B) as a replacement. In the lowest speed it rattled like an old pick up truck with a payload of aluminum cans. In the two higher speeds the unit rattled less but was as loud as those huge metal "industrial" fans that are used in gyms or dance clubs to move vast amounts of stale air. Usually the hum of a fan helps me sleep at night, but this Vornado was WAY too disruptive. The fan's noise dominated the room such that I couldn't watch TV at a decent volume. I'm returning this fan. This is a disappointing product from Vornado brand.


"Excellent fan", I love these fans. The photo is not exactly like the product I was delivered, but it isn't worth complaining about (the base is different). The only drawback is the fan speed is preset (L, M, H) whereas an older Vornado I have of this same style has a variable speed.
