"Vornado Fan - 630B" This is a great fan. Quiet and powerful, it appears well built. I have 3 of them and they are greatly appreciated on warm summer nights. "am i spoiled?" or is the new vornado fan a mere shadow of the older versions? buying this fan was a no-brainer based on my experience with other vornado products but i am really disappointed. it is much noisier than its predecessor (which we still use), the three speed control isn't nearly as handy as the adjustable control and its not as well made. we ended up relegating this model to the garage and hunting for an old school vornado. using them side-by-side confirmed our impressions. we won't spend the extra money to buy another unless vornado figures out that saving a couple of bucks in manufacturing is ruining their reputation as a maker of quality products. "My Third Vornado Because It's Better Than the Rest" I was in a retail store recently and the store had hundreds of turned-on fans in the fan section. Some of the fans were on full-blast and I barely felt a breeze. Not the Vornado, which was roughly ten dollars more than its competition. More focused breeze gust, less noise, more power, the Vornado is worth the extra ten dollars or so. Now I've got a tiny Vornado in the kitchen and two 630B Mid Sizes, one in my office, one in the bedroom. "Fantastic Fan" It does everything as advertised. It is quiet and really moves air around a room. "great fan" I like this machine. It circulates the air well and is a compact size. It is not as well made as the older models (all plastic vs. metal on older models).

"Small but So-So", I purchased two of these to supplement circumventing the use of my A/C this summer, but they're not as powerful as I expected, with all of their hype and advertising. They're small, high-tech looking, and do somewhat circulate the air, but in a Southeast Texas pre-summer season, I don't think that these Vornados are going to be much of a lifesaver. One of them is now dedicated strictly for keeping my PS3 cooler, and the other just gets moved around to help out some bigger fans... "durable", We have our fan on 24/7 and it is great! It is durable and it is quiet. "Good product.", The fan is bigger than anticipated. Whisper quiet operation...not quite. It is louder than the 510, but not to the point that it interferes with ones sleep. We do like the fan, and it does help circulate the heat better in the bedroom. "jet engine", Made the mistake of buying this fan over the web mostly because it is a pain to return things this way. I was looking for a quiet, but powerful fan. This vornado is powerful on the higher level (though the claim of moving air 70 feet is wishful thinking at best), but you might as well park a jet in your home with all of that noise. It is suprisingly noisy even at the lower speed with the motor making a high pitched clincky/ whirly, rythmic noise as if something was off center. I have a few cheaper fans at home that are quieter. In short don't waist your money, or at least buy one from a retailer that you can promptly return it to once you hear how loud this thing gets. "Greatest midsized air circulating fan ever", I purchased this fan to move air warmed by my ventless gas logs fireplace. It is very directional, powerful, and very quiet. Great investment that will pay for itself quickly. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Just what I was looking for!", Great liitle fan...Really moves the air and most of all is quiet! "Perfect", I've had 4 or 5 Vornados over the past 10 years. Hands down the best products. I use it year round. "Fast and silent relief in the heat!", This fan is great! I bought it for my daughter's un-airconditioned college dorm room that was sweltering in September in the Southern U.S. This fan can really move the air and it is really quiet for sleeping. The competitive brands can't touch it. Don't buy an imitation. This is the real deal and worth every penny! "Better air circulation than other fans", I do not have AC and was looking for a fan that circulated air better than the standard fan. After testing out a few models, I found that this model of the Vornado produced a noticeably cooler room. I like the slowest speed in that it is very quiet and hardly noticeable. "Not that silent", This fan isn't as silent in operetion as I used to think of Vornado. By the way, they are not made exclusively in USA anymore they do them in China now. It is not quite even on slowest speed. Vornado good humidifiers, as for fans I am not sure right now. |
