"excellent rice cooker" This product is excellent. good for small family. but it took awhile(half hour) to cook white rice but then rice taste good. "Workhorse appliance" I do not own this product, but own its predecessor, the National SR-CF05N. I have had this rice cooker for over ten years. I have used it on average about three times a week. It is mind boggling to think that this appliance works just as well as the day I bought it. I have never used any of the fancy features, but it makes great rice, and I have never had any appliance, especially one that is both electronic and mechanical, last as long as this one. Even the non-stick coating in the bowl is still in great shape, except where the dimple in the bottom has an edge that gets abraded from so many washings. This is NOTHING like those cheap $30-40 rice cookers. This is a miracle of engineering. "Panasonic Rice Cooker" I am happy with this rice cooker. Compare to the price I paid for this item, this is very good. "Rice Cooker" It does a very good job of cooking rice of all kinds. It comes with its own oddly sized measuring cup and recipes but I have found that using the proportions suggested on rice containers produce excellent results as well. It can be used as a slow cooker and even to bake cakes but I have not tried doing either of those things with it "Excellent Rice Cooker!" I highly recommend this rice cooker. All types of rice come out delicious. Unit is easy to clean/store. Retractable cord is nice feature. So is handle on top. Great size for small families/individual. Easy to clean.

What our customer's say! "Rice Cooker for the family of 2-4", We are family of 2. This Panasonic rice cooker serves our purpose. We cook rice thrice a week. It took us about a month to research on internet and stores to decide on Rice cooker. We started to looking on Rival (unreliable) to Aroma (ok) to Zjoirushi (Expensive like hell) to Sanyo (somebody at amazon reviewed it has soaking cycle and take an hour to cook rice) and then decided this Panasonic cooker. Following are the positive things about this rice cooker : 1) Easy to cook and clean. No mess on the kitchen top 3) Did not burn rice even though I had low water 4) 13 hrs timer setting. Once we decided to use timer setting. We cooked oatmeal with timmer setting to get it ready in the morning. 5) It has soup-white rice-brown rice-steamer-Bake and slow cooking setting. I have been using white rice-steamer setting a lot (Not to steam vegetable but to cook porridge) 6) Elegant look. Negative things about rice cooker: 1) Worse product manual I ever got in my entire life for any electrical/electronic products. The product manual is like "Rice Cooker for Dummies". No technical specifications for any of its features (soup, white rice, etc.). I mean it can cook X number of dishes but we had to do trial-error method to decide, which dish can be prepared on what setting. Just to help you guys with features, we prepared following: Oatmeal - 10 mins. steamer Kichidi (Indian lentil-rice dish)- 20 min steamer Kheer (Rice pudding) - 45 min. slow cook Lentils dal - Soup We are still exploring Panasonic rice cooker features. Atlast, we love the rice cooker. I hope Panasonic improves its product manual. "Pleased with slow cooking, too", As everyone else has already said, this rice cooker does well with rice. I like the slow cooker function too. It's simple to use: just set the timer and hit start. I use it to cook boneless, skinless chicken breasts in about a cup or so of broth for 8 hours. Cooking the chicken this way results in a tender, flavorful meat that I use in making a chicken salad spread. I think it's far better tasting than boiled chicken. "Great rice cooker", I have been using this rice cooker for nearly two years now. It makes tasty white rice and brown rice. The steaming feature is good as well. I tried to make rice porridge once using the slow cook function but it was not successful. I have not yet tried the cake feature just because recipe is not provided with the instructions menu. I wish that they proivde some simple recipes. Overall, I'm satisfied with the rice cooker. "Best rice cooker", the best rice cooker i've ever had. i love the slow cooker. thinking getting a bigger version for my mom "Rice Cooker", This is a good rice cooker, easy to use. But we feel that it is too small for us. You can not make rice when you steam something ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "I like my new Panasonic rice cooker!", My 20 year-old rice cooker finally died and I spent some time on the web reading reviews looking for a replacement . The Panasonic 5-1/2 cup cooker Panasonic SR-TMB10 5-1/2-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer, Silver was my final choice and I'm very happy with it. Except for the first time, when I put in too little water, my rice has come out perfectly AND the cooker insert is easily cleaned. My old rice cooker had a ridge on the bottom of the insert that was difficult, at best, to clean; this one cleans easily and completely. This cooker has settings for white or brown rice, so there's no guessing about cooking differences. Additionally it has settings for steaming, slow cooking, and cakes (although I'm not sure why one would cook/bake a cake in a rice cooker-different strokes I guess). If I have one complaint, it would be that the marks on the side of the insert for the water level are hard to read -- they blend into the shadow and I have to go find some direct light source to see them easily - the overhead kitchen lights just are not direct enough. However, that being said, I've been able to make perfect rice every time, so my complaint is at the bottom of the "who cares" list. I would purchase this product again and would recommend it to my friends. "Very please with the rice cooker", I've cooked both brown & white rice, each turned out to be perfect rice. Very pleased with this rice cooker, much superior quality rice than the previous one I owned(Aroma brand I bought from grocery store with an Asian cook face to come with, cost less, but it's a waste of money). I wish I had bought this one at the 1st. place, so I wound't have wasted 20 some dollars on a cheaper one. "Great rice cooker", I have contemplated purchasing a rice cooker for a few years. I chose this one based on the good reviews and the features. I am still learning to use it, and adjusting the amounts to get it just right, but I am very happy with it so far. I needed a slow cooker as well, so this item seems to be versatile for both uses. "Exactaly what I was looking for.", Cooks rice, steams veggies and even makes cakes. What more could you ask for? Pros - Cheaper then most electronic rice cookers. - Retractable cord is kinda neat. - Easy to move and store. - Cooks rice Cons - It is silver and doesn't match my white Panasonic toaster. - Panel fitment could be better. - Takes longer to cook rice then my old microwavable rice cooker. However, the rice is significantly better so the wait is worth it. "Awesome!! Perfect for a couple.", I bought this b/c my Rival digital 6qt slow cooker died after less than 12 uses. The "KeepWarm" function was boiling the food..it got hotter than the "High" temp cooking function. I got rid of it b/c my sauce & a BBQ pork shoulder were burnt after it kicked into the "KeepWarm" function. I had spent $45 on it & it malfunctioned after less than 10 months. I decided that slow cookers are cheap and unreliable..I don't need a house fire. The slow cooker prior to this one started to burn the countertop. It had cost $60 & it sparked when it was on off, when the cord was pulled out of the electrical outlet. I decided I would try this Panasonic b/c it was smaller, easier to store, has a retractable cord, and had lots of cooking functions. WELL LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I made a beef stew and chicken stew on slow cook..both tasted perfect. I used my own recipes and what blew me away was the fact I cooked the chuck overnight b/f putting in the veggies; The meat fell apart and the seasons were infused in the meat. I also cooked a whole ckn cut up overnight on slow cook but this time the bones on the thigh/ legs were cooked completely. I could easily crush the bones they were so soft. I gave the bones to my dogs w/o a second thought. Each time I put the veggies in for 2 hours on slow cook w/ the meat and the veggies were too soft like mush at an old folks cafeteria (shape was there but mash potato consistancy). Well the seasoning was infused in the veggies too. Both times it looked like I had used a pressure cooker to cook the stews, especially given the super infused flavoring. They tasted great and the fact that I had 5.5 cups for my husband and I meant we did not have tons of leftovers. The food obviously did not dry out/ lose moisture which can happen in a real slow cooker if you have small amounts of food in it. I made whole brown rice on the brown rice setting and my husband really liked it & said it was very moist. I am not a rice person so using this cooker was a breeze compare to the stovetop. I love the fact I can leave the food and the countertop stays cool, the outside of the cooker stays cool to touch, and nothing has scorched on the bottom. Also it says the keep warm works for 12 hours but it stayed on for over 24 for us. I loved that function b/c I just left the stew in there for us to serve when hungry and it was piping hot each serving. I have not used the soup, cake, or white rice setting(we never eat white) but I am will cook my vegan veggie soup next to see how that function differs from slow cook. The no stick is working. I just clean it in the sink with hot H2O and soap after it cools down completely. Nothing ever gets on the lid; the food doesn't boil/ cook onto it. I still clean it with undiluted 5% vinegar and I wipe the seal w/ a wet papertowel. I trust Panasonic b/c we own a Panasonic inverter microwave, which has been working great for almost 3years. If anything goes wrong I will follow-up. ![]() |
