"Infrared Automatic Trash can", Had another touchless trash can prior to this one, which is a lot better than my other one was.

"Works well; no big issues", My family has been actively using this trash can as our primary kitchen bin for over a month now. Overall, I am pleased with this trash can. There are only 2 issues that stand out as annoyances.

First and most critical is that the can itself is somewhat flexible and almost flimsy. It probably will not get punctured, but the top of the can wobbles. To "fix" this, the can comes with a sort of plastic trim you place inside the can itself, which provides rigidity to the can as a whole. This is also how you wrap the bags tightly in the unit. Due to this, it is not as quick and easy as I would like to change out bags. This plastic trim sits on top of a small ridge that goes around the circumference of the can. It feels like one day the can will get bent to the point where this ridge will no longer support the trim, making the unit a disaster waiting to happen. So far, this has not happened.

Secondly, sometimes the lid seems to get stuck open. I have never had this happen after *I* use it, however. There must be something my wife is doing "incorrectly" that causes this, but she ain't telling. I think she is using the button instead of using the motion sensor, but she denies it. Oh well.

I wish it were larger, but I knew the dimensions going in, so I can't complain much about that.

"Best trash can ever", I bought this trash can because my interior designer said my kitchen needed a stainless steel trash can. So I did a quick seach on the internet and this one can up first. I clicked on the link and liked so much I bought it without looking any further. Less than a week later it arrived and I set it up in the kitchen where my interior designer told me. Two days later I showed it to her and she was surprised that I had done so well picking out this trash can. I like the hands free lid. I love it!

"Good can for the price", I've seen some pretty expensive garbage cans out there. I really don't know if a stainless steel garbage can is really worth the $130 price tag but for $60, this is a good purchase. I've had it set up for a couple weeks now and have noticed a few things. The bag retainer ring that it comes with should be a standard on ALL garbage cans. Bags that once fell loose from your typical plastic can will now stay put with the retainer ring. Brilliant! The automatic lid is also pretty cool. It takes about a second to register that your hand is there waiting to throw something away but when it does it opens quickly and lets your do your business. It's like the doorman that's staring off into space but then scurries to open the door when he realizes you're there waiting for him.

The lid does sense you when you're just standing in front of it, about six inches. We have it placed next to a counter and every once in a while, when we're over by it doing something near the counter, it'll open. Not a huge deal.

Construction-wise, it is a thin, light stainless steel bin that does not seem very sturdy...but then again, it's a garbage can and it doesn't need to be thick and heavy. It's attractive when put together, the bag stays in place which is a HUGE plus and you don't have to mess around with a ketchup/chicken juice/mayonnaise/anything else under the sun laden lid. I would recommended this, if only for the "that's so cool" factor.

"Love it", Love this trashcan. Stays open long enough. Have only had it for about 2 mos and it's working fine.

"awesome", I love this can! When you have your hands full just stand in front and it opens.
Every one that comes over thinks it's the coolest thing to have.
We put batteries in it and so far they are still going strong, haven't had to change them yet. I would recommend this to anyone.

"dissapointed", We had the prior model....so I was all about replacing it when the pin broke in the hinge on the first model. We had this model less then a month and the seal on the outside on the bottom broke. I realize you can get a lemon with anything- but we are gentle with the lid....this should never have happened. Going to contact the company...

"Great for the money", I bought this trash can because it was at a very good price. I did not necessarily want the automatic lid, but it is nice and my kids love it! It opens fairly easily. It does open sometimes when you walk by it, but not often. Putting the trash bag in is a little tricky, but I am getting used to it. I love that it doesn't get as dirty as my last trash can! My kids call it "the Magic Trash can." Overall, I think it is a great buy for the price I paid. We have had it almost 2 months and I have not changed the batteries yet.

"Great product.", This is my second one in 5 years and it's awesome. Had to replace it because my kid broke the lid.
Bought first 5 years ago from sharper image for 150.00. Payed half of that this time. Cheaper than most non-automatics at lowes or home depot.
I highly recommend this can!!!

"Perfect", Works great, love not having to deal with the lid with an arm full of trash. Perfect size for the kitchen.
