"works great"
I've had this garbage for one month now and have had no issues with it. The sensor works just fine, the ring that holds the bag in works ok once you get the hang of it and the can itself holds the kitchen size garbage bag perfectly.

"Not as good as it claims..."
This specific item is only battery operated. It DOES NOT work with the adaptor, which makes NO SENSE why Amazon would couple it with the adaptor for this trash can if you can't even use the adaptor. It only uses 4 D sized batteries. It's also not 5 inches away either, sometimes I have to literally wave my hand in front of it just to get it to finally open. I don't know if you're supposed to turn it off each night (which is a hassle) or leave it go, but it already seems to be getting slower and we've only had it for about a week or so.
My wife is talking about getting rechargable D batteries and this might help the off-set of it, but ultimately I don't think the price for this is worth the show.
Plus it says 13-gallon, but it seems smaller then our 45 liter trash can we had before, and the size of the opening also makes it difficult to get some things in there.
I've looked at the MX, Hx, Sx, and Nx versions, which do accept the adaptor plug, but they are each a good 30 - 40 dollars more then this one... it's rediculous.
Bottom line is this, nothing beats a simple, foot pumped trash can. this item was by far, too good to be true.


"For the price, not too bad!"
We looked at a bunch of different models and manufacturers and based on the reviews and the price, we thought we'd give it a go (first one was bought as a Christmas present for the in-laws). My mother-in-law was extremely pleased with it so we figured we'd replace ours and get one for recycling as well. Couldn't be happier so far...done exactly what we had hoped and haven't double-guessed the purchase even once.

"I'm Loving It !"
We registered for this trashcan for our wedding and I will say I was not expecting to love it so much. First of all, it really does what it says it does, you go to throw something away and it opens. It's really quiet and is a perfect size for the kitchen. It was quite entertaining to watch my Chocolate Lab(who is notorious for nosing around in the trash)discover it. She jumped about 10 feet! Bottom line, great investment. Takes size D batteries, and has an on/off switch if you prefer to switch it off overnight.

"Touchless trash cans are a gift from above"
We got this trash can because I was tired of hiding our old one under the sink from the dogs knocking it over and getting trash everywhere. It's sturdy enough where we don't have to worry about leaving it out, and our dogs haven't even figured out how to get inside (knock on wood!) so we don't need to use the on/off switch much.

You can hide the trash bag around the inner plastic ring and the design of the can helps to use up most of the room in the trash bag without waste. It has a button to open the lid that will keep it open until you push the close button on it - great if you're peeling veggies or cracking a lot of eggs, etc.

The narrow design fits perfectly next to our pantry near the kitchen entrance, which is only around 10 inches or so.
