Others say...

"lefties beware!"
the refiller hole comes open almost 50% of the time.. it is very annoying... and i think it's because i'm a lefty and use my left hand to turn on top.. and sometimes i grab hold of the refiller portion and it twists open.. and about 5 dollars worth of peppercorns flow on to the ground.

I want to return the darn things.. (i got the salt mill with the same problem) but being an oppressed lefty my whole life.. i'm just learning to be conscious of the refiller area.. I have no idea why they make it so accessible to refill.. I mean.. you refill maybe once a month.. but grind once a day.. why make it so delicate??!

i will say the grind is good though.. but i think the plastic doesn't have as classy of a feel as some wood or metal grinders

"Grinds perfectly and effortlessly"
The Magnum Peppermill does everything one wants a good mill to do: it grinds pepper evenly without effort and is easily adjustable to grind from course to fine. It is easy to fill and holds a hefty amount of peppercorns. I don't agree with the comments others made about peppercorns falling out of the mill. Once filled the hole is covered by a simple twist of the mill's body. The only reason I didn't give this product five stars is that it isn't very lovely to look at being made of black plastic. But for the price it can't be beat.

"The Best "
I got this grinder because it was voted the best pepper mill by Cook's Illustrated, otherwise known as America's Test Kitchen. True to review, it performed flawlessly, creating very finely ground pepper, just the way I like it. The grind size is also easily adjustable. It was easy to load as well. My only gripe is, couldn't they make a nicer looking model? Maybe something out of wood, or a material other than cheap looking plastic--especially when your paying $40 and up? Anyway, looks aren't everything. Function is whats important and in that regard the Unicorn Magnum gets 5 stars from me.

"Go ahead and splurge...you won't be sorry."
This sat in my wish list for over a year but I could never come up with that much money that didn't have to go toward something more urgent.

I have had way too many cheap pepper grinders over the years and they all worked pretty good for a few months then gradually went down hill. My wife heard me cursing the current cheap grinder just before Christmas and knew that I had talked about this one for a long time so she went ahead and bought it for me. Now I wonder how I lived without it. It not only still works great, it actually seems to work better the more I use it. The only problem I have with it is that just about everything I cook now has too much pepper in it simply because it is such a pleasure to use. Not great to look at and feels kind of cheap, but IT DOES GRIND PEPPER!

"a great pepper mill"
This is such a small pleasure. Every time I reach for it in the kitchen, it easily delivers a fantastic and abundant grind of fresh pepper. Well worth the money.

What our customer's say!

"Best Pepper Mill", We bought the pepper mill as a set, along with the salt mill, nearly 10 years ago, and it's still going great. Recently, I bought a different pepper mill for the cabin, and have regretted it ever since. I finally broke down today and bought another set for the cabin.

There is absolutely nothing else out there like this for speed, efficiency, volume, and durability. The clean lines make it easy to wipe down after peppering a roast or salmon fillet. And it's nice enough to put on the table as well.

You won't regret this purchase. You'll only wonder why you waited so long.

"Pepper Mill", I love this product. I wanted a peppermill that would grind pepper into a more course ground and this product really met my expectations. It is easy to use and the volume of pepper that flows is very heavy so you don't need too many grinds to get a lot of pepper. I enjoy fresh pepper on everything and this product really worked for me. I've had several different peppermills before this one but this is the best one I've found. At first I thought that this product was expensive, but as I use it I feel the cost of the unit was worth it. If you really like pepper then give this product a try.

"Great peppermill !", The 6" Magnum Peppermill is great to use. I've had other tall wood pepper mills that one had to crank many times to get enough pepper out. This pepper mill takes just a slight twist to produce the required amount. I've had the Magnum Peppermill for about six month now and have not had any problem with the fill hole opening while grinding. This grinder holds a lot of peppercorns. A very sturdy machine.

"Magnum Peppermill", This is SO much better than the battery-operated one we had previously. Great product!

"At last, one that works!", My son, the chef, wanted this for his birthday. It is one that actually works. Thanks for making him happy.

"Magnum Peppermill", This is the best peppermill I have ever used, so far. Only time will tell if it is the best one ever.

"Gives us more enjoyment than I could have imagined", I used an Amazon gift certificate to buy this pepper mill because our old one was dying. Since we started using this one, we have both noticed how much flavor some properly ground peppercorns add to our meals. I can't believe how much enjoyment we have gotten from a simple kitchen tool!

The grinding mechanism is stronger and more precise than any other pepper mill I have ever used, including other so-called gourmet ones from leading stores. I am sure this will be the last pepper grinder we will ever purchase (unless someone steals it, or runs over it with a truck).

We now regularly give this as a low-cost, high-impact gift to family and friends. You will definitely enjoy this!

"Nothing else even comes close.", Magnum Peppermill - 6-Inch

First- a disclaimer: 1)I've lived on Nantucket for about 30 years, 2) I know and like Tom David (the creator), though we are not close pals 3) I was one of the first to get a copy of the very first (numbered)- "one handed" pepperguns.

But since he brought them out, I've used the regular, Magnum Peppermill. Everyday! I've bought well over a couple dozen as gifts over the years.

If you're serious about cooking and eating-- there's no way to get by without this piece of functional perfection!

"Best pepper mill ever!", The Magnum peppermill that we bought recently is great! We got the 6 inch version. It has a very solid feel in your hands and grinds out a large amount of pepper with very little effort. The chamber is easy to fill and holds a lot of peppercorns. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 star rating is that I'd like to be able to adjust down to a super fine grind for certain applications and found the knob maxed out at a more standard size grind. That said, it's still the best pepper mill I've ever owned. I Highly recommend it!

"Many years later, still going strong...", I ordered the larger grinder years ago, and loved it so much that I gave them to everyone in the family at Christmas.

Now I'm ordering the 6" version, along with the salt mill, to permanently live on a beautiful Lazy Susan that is coming to live on our table.

The quality is incredible -- truly I won't buy another mill (unless it's another Magnum).
