Others say...
"It works very well" I got this compressor like a year ago. I agonized deciding between this cheap option and other fancier, more expensive compressors. Boy, did I make the right decision. It works perfectly well. I keep my SUV tires in perfect shape. It does the work. The only tiny caveat: make sure you have a proper tire gauge. The gauge incorporated in this compressor goes into the 100's, so it is impossible to read the difference between, say, 28 psi and 32 psi. "What A Piece Of Junk!" I may have used this thing 2 to 3 times at best since I bought it back in May 2008 and the inside of the seal has already ripped up so that I cannot even get it to attach to the tire valve. Can I say 'Rip Off'? Look elsewhere and pass this one up! "Just as advertised" The item arrived on time and was not only what I wanted but was "as advertised." I could ask for nothing more! "Has an actual amperage requirement of 15A, not only a regular 12V outlet would be sufficient.." I just got this tire inflator and when I went down to the garage to pump up the tires, I was disappointed to see that this device actually has an amperage requirement to work properly! I have two relatively new Hondas(08 Pilot and 06 Civic) and neither of them seem to comply with this device. Their power outlets are rated 10A, whereas this device needs a 15A minimum. So actually 12V is not the only requirement for this compressor to work, it needs to be coupled with proper amperage. I contacted the manufacturer(Slime) and the customer representative responded to me saying that the device might work(or blows the car's fuse) but there is no guarantee that it would work with less than 15A. So basically I ended up in a "try at your own risk" situation having bought this inflator. I am returning this item sooner. I would also suggest Amazon.com to put in more detailed product information for this item. I wouldn't have bought this item in the first place if the amperage requirement was listed here. "Junk" This Slime COMP03 air compressor should not be listed on your website. It run for 18 min.to go from 30psi to 35psi on one tire. The noise level was unbearable. The light was just ok, not bright, but air came on the light when dead. After one tire I gave up and put in were it belonged, the trashcan. The name should be Shame not Slime.

Slime COMP03 12-Volt Air Compressor with Gauge and Light (300 PSI)
Why I buy this one ? - Air compressor pressurizes up to 300 PSI - Includes a dial gauge and powerful light - Independent on/off switches increase unit's versatility - Powered by 12-volt cigarette lighter - Helps maintain optimal tire inflations, saving money on gas and maintenance Special offer for you..find the cheapest! What our customer's say! "Too noisy", Takes a while to inflate a tire but can wake up entire neighborhood especially if you need to use it beside daytime. "Very Noisy, as Expected - But Works!", Simply put : it works and nicely, though noisily, so. And it's powerful as well, inflating tires pretty fast. Even the somewhat cheesy analog tire pressure gauge is quite accurate. I have a different digital tire gauge in each of our two cars and their readings quite match the readings of this 'Slime' The only issue I have with this product is the part connecting to the tire is lined with cheap rubber that sometimes get stuck while attempting to disconnect from the tire and causes the loss of some pressure. I just compensate by filling 1-2 PSI above the recommended pressure... In short: worth the money. "Slime Comp03", Product is great. Inflates an SUV tire in 8 minutes as specified. The one thing I wish is that the compressor was a bit quieter otherwise great product and a lifesaver! "Too Noisy!!", It's way Too Noisy!!! It makes a 86 dbl noise, which means it WILL damage your hearing!! This is the only bad thing about this pump! Otherwise it's GREAT! "Did the job", I bought this because I have a chronic slow leak on one tire. I was leary about this item since it was so cheap, but I uesed it after being away from home for 2 weeks and the tire was very low. It took about 8 minutes but the tire got up to pressure. The pressure gauge is a nice feature so you know when to turn it off. Let's see how it holds up over time. Seems kind of flimsy. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "very loud..", the product works as described. However, it is too loud with a disturbing operation. I am returning it! "Slime is Real Fine", The Slie compressor really turned out better then I could imagine. I had read some reviews that indicated problems with the seal, but I have not run into those problems. The real benefit of this compressor is the ON/OFF switch and the pressure indicator. I tested the accuracy against a standard pressure guage and found it right on the money. It makes it much easier to fill to the desired pressure. Great product. "Great product for the price!", What can you say, every car should have one. I ordered two, one for my car and one for my wife's. Works great, no problems with it at all so far. The gauge on it lets me use it just to keep my tires properly inflated between rotations. Great to have in case of an emergency. "*...It really works...*", I bought this little guy more than 6 months ago, used it a few times and this compressor worked like a champion all the time. I even used it to inflate while under load (three barrells of water was in a pickup). This little device is working great for me. The light is a handy addition too "Good at the price", Pro - quickly filled a tire from 10 psi to 30. (< 3 minutes) Con - light weight requires you to hold the compressor so it doesn't bounce around or flip over. Also, for it's size it's pretty loud. Overall- worked well, you just have to hold it down on a flat surface during the entire fill time. ![]() |
