"Compact and stylish!" This machine is great! Not only does it make a cup of good coffee, it also looks very sleek. It might be too small for heavy drinkers, but this is just perfect for people who don't drink a lot of coffee everyday. If you need coffee just occasionally, this is the one for you; besides, it does not require much kitchen counter top. I totally love my personal coffee maker. "Leaks all over the counter!!!" Got this as a gift, thought hey..this is great - one fresh cup of coffee at a time and would not be wasting coffee on a bigger machine as I am the only who does drink coffee (husband doesn't). Worked alright for a while and now almost each time I brew a cup..about a 1/4 of the coffee drips onto the counter, down the cabinets, and onto the floor. Even after cleaning it well folks! I cannot tell you how many paper towels I have had to use to clean up..very disappointed..expected a more superior product from Brookstone. "Works GREAT" This is a great product for a single coffee serving. Makes good coffee and is quick and convenient. "Does what it says" It really only makes one cup of coffee at a time. It meets minimum standards for performance. Can't use some of my larger mugs with it because the resevior only holds a standard mug volume of water. You have to be careful when filling it with water--not much space for error before water spills on the counter. Brews like any standard drip pot. Overall would rate as a C+-B- for satisfaction. "Best option for the home w/ only one coffee drinker" Bought this for my DH as a Christmas present. He's used it every day since and we've saved so much money now that he doesn't have to go to the doughnut shop for coffee every morning...it's easily paid for itself in just one month. Even the clean up is easy with the reusable filter. I just rinse it out and put it back in.

The rep was very professional and courteous and sent a return label in the mail but I actually got a replacement in a store. I'm totally happy with the product. I look forward to good coffee every morning. "A poorly designed coffee maker!", I felt sorry that I bought this coffee maker. It made a mess because about half of hot coffee water did not go into the mug or cup. However, I could fix the problem and it seems to be o.k. now. At the bottom of the filter basket there is a short spout. This spout is so short that it let the water to spread out and run out of the cup. I attached a short hose to the spout to make it about 1/4" longer. This solved the problem. "Great coffee maker", I bought this to replace a cheap one-cup maker I bought from from one of those junk catalog. This one is very nice looking, it works ultra fast with automatic shut off and I can use my own larger mug instead of the cup which comes with it. If you use a huge mug you may need to add more water. I like the cord on the side. If it was on the back, you couldn't put it up against the wall. Makes no mess and works great! "This is okay if you like weak coffee", I bought this for my husband who is the only coffee drinker in the household. He likes his coffee strong and when he would use the amount of coffee he prefers, the coffee maker would overflow and create a mess on the countertop. It is an attractive unit, easy to clean but I would not buy another one. "great single cup coffee maker", I'm totally happy with this compact single cup coffee maker. it's quick, makes good, hot coffee. It comes with a permanent filter which was an added plus. I only wish that the cup was a bit bigger. and it would be nice if the cord was retractable or something. Still i'm happy and would purchase again. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Great one cup coffee maker", Very solid construction for the price. Brews nice and hot, which is important for optimum extraction of coffee grounds. Highly recommended for anyone who only has one or two cups a day, or needs a coffee maker for travel. "Great! Quick! Small!", Works in about 30 seconds even though the box states 4 minutes. The scoop is the perfect size. Only thing is that you have to make 2 cups to be satisfied. Also works for hot tea :) Perfect for the office. "check the mug", I just bought one of these in a Brookstone store. The stainless steel mug had two rusted scratches on the bottom of the inside. Best to check it before buying if possible. I'm chemically sensitive so I have to add that the innards are plastic but the plastic smell left after a few uses. The bottom of the stainless steel cup and the pad were rubber (very stinky) but I removed those. The removable filter works excellently. You can use your own cups in the pad too, ours fit well.
