Others say...
"Nice pan, but scratches" I bought this pan to replace my non-stick cookie sheet. I love that it seems to heat evenly and has nice edges to it. However, the pan scratches pretty easily and doesn't quite come clean - there are still starchy smudges from my homemade french fries that I can't scrub off. It's a great pan if you don't mind it looking a bit smudgy. "Norpro Stainless Steel Jelly Roll Pan" The stainless steel jelly roll pan is great and I would recommend having one. It's multifunctional, desserts, french fries; anything that you'd use a cookie sheet for. Mary/Oregon "Your Jelly Rolls Will Look Upon You With Favor" No jelly rolls as of yet have graced this pan, but if I baked any I am certain they would be well pleased. The fish stick's were quite happy, so I am guessing the jelly rolls would be too. Heating the pan to nearly 500 degrees (fish sticks like it hot, 475) caused it to warp (momentarily startling my fish sticks), but it does return to its normal shape after removing from this infernal Hades like temperature. Please note that this is a temperature you would never wish to visit upon a non-stick pan. Over 400 degrees and non-stick becomes violently toxic spewing forth lecherous vapors that kill birds, and you know what they say about canaries in coal mines. Always best to stay away from non-stick, but I'm sure that's why your considering the pristine qualities of stainless to begin with. However, the shiny surface is what attracted me (I like shiny things). As a previous supporter of the noble qualities of this pan commented, GOO gone works admirably at removing the barnacle laden adhesive from the surface (only two small spots on this pan). I am now secretly abducting all of our rusting and peeling non-stick in favor of Norpro stainless shiny things. Shh, my wife does not know as of yet, but she will thank me. Muwhahahahaha. "Sent It Back" This jelly roll pan arrived with a Norpro cookie sheet that was scratched and bent. I never used them, but sent them both back together. There was nothing on the label to indicate that the jelly roll pan I got is the same one that is described, not even the weight of the stainless steel. It felt light and flimsy, more like aluminum. "Good pan" I read the reviews before buying this because I hate the aluminum cookie sheets/jelly roll pans and I really needed a new stainless one. Everyone complained about the way the label was attached. Hello people, have you ever heard of WD-40? I used WD-40 on the pan and the adhesive was gone. No big deal, I have encountered this problem on many pans, dishes, etc. I have used this pan several times and am extremely pleased. Stainless beats aluminum everytime and I would highly recommend this pan.

What our customer's say! "Quality Pan", I received two of these pans as part of a wedding gift two months ago. They're sturdy, durable, easy to clean (they'll survive almost any chemical or scraper), and even after forgetting them in a sink of water they still don't have any rust spots. I haven't had any problems. "Jelly Roll pan = Great properties", This pan has a feature of which I make great use. A magnet sticks to it. I hang them for easy access and they look great, like art work, can use them as a mirror. They surely shine. I bought many. "Buckled on first use", The construction is pretty flimsy and the pan buckled when I put it in the oven (350 degrees). Pay a couple bucks extra and get a better quality pan. "Very pleased", with this pan. It is moderately priced and to my non-expert eye, well made. It did warp a bit when I used it in a 425 degree oven, but that is not really a problem for me. I am not sure what the sticky problem is the other reviewers are talking about. This pan had a full size label on it but it peeled right off with no residue. However a Norpro cookie sheet I bought a month previous to this jelly roll pan did have sticky gunk left from the label on the cooking surface, but I just followed the advice of the other reviewers and used a little wd40 waited a bit and then it washed right off. I am trying to replace all the beat up and "nonstick" cook and bake ware in my house with stainless steel and glass.(I just cannot believe all that flaking Teflon that gets cooked and baked into the food is harmless.) I cannot afford the expensive, heavy, professional stainless bake ware and I feel that Norpro provides an affordable, durable, and I think, attractive alternative. "good looking", It looks very nice, fit in all my stainless steel cookware. the only thing is that it warps in over 400 degree oven, but for lower temp it works very good. Plus it makes a nice platter to marinade ot prep meat or veges. Good deal for the price. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Proper care for stainless steel", There seems to be much ado about simply removing a label from a pan. Pull the label off and apply "Goof Off" or "Goo Gone", wait a minute and wipe the residual adhesive off. Wash with plenty of hot soapy water or place in the dishwasher. It's that simple! Next, NEVER use steel wool on a stainless steel object. Very, very small iron(steel) particles from the steel wool become embedded in the stainless steel at a microscopic level. After a washing or two, you'll soon notice red(rust) stains on the pan. So much for your new stainless pan! For that matter, it's also best NOT to use a metal spatula because it not only scratches the stainless but again, also leaves behind microscopic iron particles that will rust. Plastic, coated or wooden tools are recommended. Finally, to keep that stainless looking good, scrub the pan with a non-woven fibre (Scotchbrite for instance). "Barkeeper's Friend", "Red Bear" or even baking soda used on a sponge or on a "Scotchbrite nylon pad will keep the stainless clean and prevent any rust from forming. As an aside, because this is not a review on the Norpro pan, I gave the pan a 3 star rating, i.e. neutral. That's neither good nor bad. I just feel the pan should be judged on it's own merits and not on the merits of a label. "A easy way to remove the glue", After I read all the reviews about the jelley pan, I decided to buy two because I prefer stainless steel jelly pans. I used baking soda to remove all the glue in a few minutes. It was a piece of cake to remove the glue.So if you don't want to buy the pan only because of the glue, please don't worry about it. I give 4 stars here because I have not use the pans to bake. "Norpro Stainless Steel Jelly Roll Pan", Stainless steel jelly roll pans are difficult to find in this price range. Pan is an improvement over aluminum and pans with non-stick surfaces, however, pan needs to be made from heavier steel. "Pan twists in oven", I bought this product because I wanted a baking pan without a non-stick surface. It was gleaming stainless steel when new, but I've never been able to totally remove all smudgy residue when I clean it. I was quite disappointed to find that the pan twisted in the oven when I baked chicken, although it flattened out after I took it out of the oven. I had hoped it was heavy duty enough not to warp when baking. "Made in China", I agree with the other reviews. It is a decent product, but why did they stick the label on with glue that takes mineral spirits and a whole lot of elbow grease to get off?! It would also be nice if the pans were the standard size of aluminum jelly roll pans--a little bigger. ![]() |
