"It Works but Doesn't get the Water Steaming Hot" It takes 3 tea bags to get 2 medium strength cups of tea. Husband isn't very thrilled about it BUT he was using a stove tea kettle and would leave the water boiling for hours. I put a stop to that because I was afraid he go off to work and leave the gas stove running all day. When you compare it to burning the house down, it's not such a bad deal. "Don't bother buying this ! ! ! ! ! ! ! " Don't waste your money. This makes awful, bitter tea. The water doesn't steep the tea properly, because it does not boil. The hot plate that the pot sits on is set at far too high a temperature for holding the brewed tea. The tea "burns" basically. A burned residue frequently has to be scrubbed from the bottom of the pot if the second cup is not consumed within a half hour. The screen that is supposed to allow the unit to be used with loose teas (instead of with just teabags) broke on just the second washing. the insert used with the teabags is hard to clean. All in all, this has nothing over a nice ceramic teapot with an insulated tea cozy. Save your money! "Just Awesome!" I love this tea maker! I saw it on TV and knew I just had to have it. I drink tea every day and this maker is just the think to keep it going. No more burnt tea, cold tea, weak tea or any of the other problems. I have used it atleast 4 times a day for over 8 months now and it just keeps everything awesome! "So glad I bought this." I'm so glad I bought this Tea Maker. I have only had this for about 3 weeks, and it makes perfect herb tea, that still taste good after siting hot for a few hours. I have only used tea bags,and will mix acouple of different types with my Green Tea. This does not turn off automaticly. There is a green light to let you know it's on. This has a knob to turn if you want your Tea mild , reg, or Strong. I keep it on Strong, as I drink herb tea, and feel I'm getting more antioxidents that way! Dr. Oz said when your makeing Green Tea, if you squeeze a , lemon, orange, or lime into your tea cup you will get all the good antioxidents from the green tea. If you do not, your basicly drinking flavored water. (new study). About a month ago, I paid $17.96 and free shipping, now the cost is $26.73 .. I would still buy this for the higher price, but I don't understand Amazon's pricing!! "Great tea maker for the price." I have been using this tea maker for over a year and love it. After reading some of the reviews, I understand that some hard core tea drinkers are not satisfied, but all the other tea makers are $100 or more. I think tea drop makes a very acceptable cup of tea for its price. I only use loose tea and doesn't have any problem.The trick is to add the tea when the filter is out of the machine. The only con is the water temperature. I would like to be able to make the water hoter.

What our customer's say! "Great with fine cut loose tea", The Sunbeam works great with fine cut loose tea. I drink six cups a day and I like it strong - so I use it on the strongest setting, but it's never bitter like it is if you oversteep it. Coarse cut tea requires more steeping time. I use Twinings fine cut Irish Breakfast tea - 1/2 teaspoon in each side. It will work with coarse tea, but you have to use twice as much for the same effect. And it does boil the water - that's how the water makes it up the tube to the top - just like in a drip coffeemaker, but it's slightly below boiling temperature when it drips through. The only "problem" is that it gets very dirty with the amount I drink, but it's easy to take apart to clean. "Hot Tea vs. Coffee", I really like this product overall. I bought it for work so that I could kick the coffee habit with lots of the fake creamer in lieu of Green Tea with Honey. A much healthier alternative. One problem I had with it was the pot design and the water tank. I always end up spilling the water in order to pour it all in the reservoir. It makes delicious tea but I haven't totally kicked the coffee yet. "htm3 sunbeam hot tea maker", I just received this teapot a couple weeks ago. It is easy to use and to clean up. One thing I noticed though was some of tea leaking down where it shouldnt be. I then realized that the filters holding the tea needed to be seated more firmly by pulling down on the flaps at the front of them and then there is a definite click. Either the instructions did not emphasize this or I somehow missed it. I am not a "tea perfectionist" and found this product to be a good solution to making a couple of cups without the mess of replacing teabags into a 2nd cup. "tea maker ", What a nice product. It was delivered as promised. The only comment I would have is the web based description did not do the product justice. "A good tea maker.", The Sunbeam HTM3 Hot Tea Maker does not produce a significantly large amount of tea. There are also several different parts which need to be washed, which could be seen as a pain. Plus, the heating of the tea after it has already been brewed can cause particles to build up in the tea, making it gritty (this may be due in part to either my tea or my water). Even so, these are only very minor problems with the product. On the upside, it makes tea very quickly. And turns out tasting fine (not sure why it wouldn't, but it seems I should mention that somewhere). To avoid getting my tea gritty, I prefer to turn off the tea maker once it's finished brewing. And, the tea maker has a compact design, making it fit easy on the counter space available. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "I love this teapot!", I love this teapot. It is great to have tea whenever I want it--without having to reheat some from a cold pot/mug. The strength control is really nice. Now, if only it had a timer so it'd be ready when I wake up! "A consistent brew", I drink a lot of tea, and I find this little unit is wonderfully consistent in brewing. It lends itself particularly well to the brewing of fine white or green teas for which, to protect the tea from a bitter or astringent taste, the water should not be brought to a boil. It also does a very nice job with most oolongs and even some black blends. If I am in a hurry, I'm generally satisfied with the results I get with black, rooibos, mate and herbals that require hotter water and longer steep times, but when I'm fussy about these latter varieties I use a teapot and infuser so I can control the results to my taste. I find the Sunbeam Hot Tea Maker extremely easy to use. I always use loose teas which, of course, get loose if I'm not careful. The trick is to take the infuser basket out when putting leaves into it. "Great appliance!", I usually made my tea by using an electric kettle to boil the water - then I would pour it into a glass pitcher holding my tea bags. Then I would set a timer and let it steep. Now, it's much easier to just load the tea drop and turn on the button. I really like most of my tea iced, so I just pour it over ice and I'm done. Great time saver! "Sunbeam hot tea", Great Tea maker, keeps tea hot and makes more than one cup at a time. "Good machine", This was exactly what I was looking for. It makes a good cup of tea and keeps the extra warm. Small enough to fit near my computer so I can enjoy it without having to run to the kitchen constantly. My only complaint is that when I take it apart to clean after brewing that the tea drips inside and has to be wiped out. I would recommend this product. |
