"Was hoping for a better product!!!" I was so thrilled to see that Bunn came out with something to keep coffee HOT!!! We have always used a Bunn, so when we saw this I said I gotta have it. We always made coffee an my husband put it in the thermos so it would be hot when I got up. We thought this is great we don't have to do this anymore. WRONG!!! The coffee gets made about5:30 in the morning and is never hot by 9:00 in the morning. I always have to nuke it in the morning. I think that Bunn should re-design a new stainless steel pot. Was really disappointed this time Bunn. Brenda Williams "Bunn Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe" First, let me say this coffee maker does make great coffee. Having said that, my experience with the coffee maker hasn't beeen good. After using the coffee maker for a month or so,the carafe started leaking and would not pour correctly-I had to hold it over the kitchen sink when pouring to keep from getting burned!I had read several reviews of this product saying they didn't pour right-leaked-had lids hard to put on and close, and I thought the people probably just didn't use the product correctly-WRONG! Mine did all of these things, no matter how I tightened the lid or poured it.It also developed a leak at the back of the top resevoir, which had to be blotted constantly. I also must say when I requested a replacement from Bunn, I had no hassles, a quick replacement. Unfortunately, the next two coffee pots they sent me both had problems too. The first has something wrong with the flow mechanism-the coffee grounds would splash out of the top of the filter-(using the same coffee and water as before), the second replacement arrived with a broken water resevoir cover hatch. In the end, I ended up with an extra coffee maker, which I called Bunn customer service and let them know this. They told me they would send me a prepaid address label to return the unit with, since I had already paid ten dollars to return one unit. I guess they don't want their coffee maker back, because I never recieved a label. I even called them back to remind them about this after several weeks had went by without recieving the label. I always thought Bunn was a top of the line company, but after my experience with them, I know longer think so. Very dissapointed. "Opening the carafe can be tricky." I bought this coffee pot because of prior experience and satisfaction with Bunn products. What I didn't know was that opening the lid of the carafe was a major chore which requires a lot of muscle. So, everyday when I make coffee and/or empty and clean the carafe, I know I am in for a major struggle with a screw-on lid. Love the brand and reliable coffee, hate the frustration of getting the carafe lid unscrewed. "Pricey but worth it!" I was looking for a better coffee maker than the nice stanless thermal one I had. Something that would make great coffee and be faster Monday morning. I thought that I would check out the auto grind models. But this one had all the stars and good reviews. I didn't think I would care about the ready hot water. But the coffee is great. The machine works great. And I have hot water ready for my tea! LOL The only thing I have seen bad in reviews is the spout story. But the coffee maker comes with instructions that say how to clean it and how to maintain it. It is not hard.BUNN BTX-B ThermoFresh 10-Cup Thermal-Carafe Home Coffee Brewer, Black "SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!" I just packed this machine back it's box to be returned. Save the extra money and buy the regular Bunn. It brews nice,fast,hot coffee but within 15-20 minutes the coffee is starting to get pretty cold!!!Forget about drinking it after an hour unless you microwave it to reheat it.I even tried to preheat the carafe as suggested and that still didn't help.I thought this would be a great machine to have since I have small children(nothing they could get burnt on) but with having said that,I really need a nice hot cup of coffee!!!

What our customer's say! "Bunn Thermal Carafe Coffee Brewer", As far as I'm concerned, the best coffee pot I've ever used. I've used Bunn for years--this is my second one with the thermal carafe--and don't know of another coffee maker I would like well enough to buy. Fresh, great quality coffee in three minutes--who neeeds to set a timer the night before? Put the thermal carafe on your table, and enjoy fresh tasting coffee for hours. "Bunn TheromFresh", I was a little leery buying this coffee pot with some of the reviews being not so good about it leaking and all but I went with the good reviews and I'm glad I did. I've had this pot for about 6 months now and have never had a problem with it leaking I love it! No more burnt coffee after an hour of sitting and it keeps it warm for about 2 hrs. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants coffee in 3 minutes in the morning and not burnt tasting after 30 minutes or more. If you buy this pot I don't think you could go wrong. Coffee also taste great! "HOT Coffee!", I was using a Mr Coffee carafe coffee maker when I bought the Bunn Thermofresh. The problem with the Mr Coffee and other previous coffee makers that ended up in landfill heaven long before they died was that as they got older, they couldn't get the water hot enough for a decent cup of coffee. And they were noisy. The Bunn does a wonderful job of making NICE HOT COFFEE, very QUIETLY. The thermal carafe keeps it hot for hours. I wish the carafe had an indicator to show water levels for when you're not making a full pot. That would make this coffee brewer perfect. The Bunn isn't cheap, but it's good. "Great Product", This coffee maker brews coffee extremely quickly and well, and it's easy to operate and clean. (Before the Bunn, I had a Cuisinart model that ground its own beans and was awful to clean.) Bunn has great customer service as well. I had an issue with the brewer--it was leaking clean water on the counter--and as soon as I contacted their customer service department, a representative sent me a brand new unit with a FedEx shipping label, no questions asked. Simply put, I recommend this unit. "Love it!", Product came in with one piece broken but I had no problems getting a replacement part in the mail from Bunn. This could have happened in shipping or from the vendor. Love the product. It has a thermal pot so the coffee pot doesn't have to stay on all day. I love that. Great buy. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "MMMMM. MMM GOOD", Got the unit 10 days ago was so impressed how it worked and the quality of the coffee, I ordered one for the lunch room at work and the employees rave about the quality. The coffee is done in three minutes keeps warm for hours on end but because there is no warming plate it does not "cook" and there is no bitterness, the last cup is as good as the first. "EXCELLENT COFFEE MAKER !!!!", I love this coffee maker! I read all of the reviews and looked at a few others before purchasing the BUNN. I am glad I got this one. The stories about the leak in the carafe were the one thing I was concerened with before the purchase of the BUNN coffee maker. Their is no leak in the carafe their is a secret for no spillage and that is POUR SLOWLY. If you make a full pot then pour the first cup real slow and you won't have any problems. I too thought mine was leaking at first and then took my time and I don't have any leakage on any surfaces when pouring a hot cup of coffee. The carafe keeps the coffe hot for over three hours and that's plenty for my family. I had a Mr. Coffee carafe/coffee maker before this one and the Bunn brews a much nicer cup of coffee. The Mr. Coffee would only keep the coffee hot for about an hour or so. Get one now and you'll love it! "So much for new and improved.", I had this machine for over 2 years and was very happy with it. We moved and followed all the instructions for moving it. To make a very long story short we had a non-working machine when we plugged it in. Bunn was very helpful in getting us a replacement of the newer version of our coffee maker. This is where the nightmare started. We fired up the new pot only to find that coffee is leaking all over the counter. So as we are soaking up the mess my wife is on the line with Bunn, who states that since we use home ground coffee that we need to install a special restriction valve. Ok, so we wait 2 weeks for this little piece of plastic to come in the mail. And boy oh boy does it work like a charm at restricting, now it only takes 30 minutes to make a pot of coffee, what a relief. On top of that yes we too now have the leaking problem when pouring coffee. I used to tell everyone I knew about how much I loved this company and their machines, but now I have nothing but bad to say, which is sad because their old stuff was so much better. Never again will a Bunn be used at this household. "great coffee fast", This makes great coffee and is very fast. I love the thermal carafe- it stays hot for HOURS without making the coffee taste old or burnt. The only reason I gave it four stars is because it is a pain to preheat the carafe, but thats what helps keep the coffee stay hot for so long. Having to heat up water to preheat the carafe kind of cancels out the benefit of it making the coffee so fast. "Surprised by all of the good reviews", I am surprised by all of the exceptional reviews this product has received. I have owned this coffee maker for around 8 months. It makes a mediocre cup of hot coffee and keeps it warm for a while without burning the coffee but the negatives outweigh the positives in my opinion. Negatives: 1. The shower head is too strong. Usually the indentions made into the coffee leave a dent that go nearly to the filter. This leads to incomplete saturation of the coffee grounds. 2. The carafe indeed has a design flaw that causes it to be susceptable to frequent spills after a few months. While it may be true that with regular cleaning using some sort of detergent can reduce this problem, it's not a problem with which you have to deal with most carafes. Positives: 1. Hot coffee. The brew temperature seems to be about right. 2. Fast 3. Keeps coffee warm For a few dollars more you can get a Capresso MT-500 which produces a much much better cup of coffee and wont spill all over the place. If you don't mind your coffee maker being the size of a small bus and kind of like it leaking on the counter, you can get the capresso st 600 for about half the price. It leaks as well but produces a truly great cup of joe. |
