This fan a awesome. The fabric blades are VERY safe. This fan is also quiet. I'm able to mix sound in the studio with the Zippi. The design, construction and materials used are top-notch. It doesn't feel cheap.

"Vornado's Worst Fan"
I love Vornado's product line, but the "Zippi" is simply a mistake.
Upon opening this product I was happy with its look and feel, but upon plugging it in, felt little air flow on either speed.
Within ten minutes of using this, the spinning piece fell off the base unit, and now my fan hardly works.
I will be returning this mistake of a purchase and trying the Vornado "flippi"

"Performs excellently as a desk fan."
I bought this fan for the desk in my office, since the room temperature is higher than is comfortable for me. I leave it on the low setting and it cools the air around me by a few degrees. The fan is well-suited for an office environment, as it is small and quiet; even on the high setting the fan remains quieter than the typical ambient office white noise. It's also quite stylish; the design has a retro-inspired feel that reminds me of an old engine propeller. The cloth blades inspired many of my colleagues to stick their fingers in the fan while it's running. The air circulates strong enough that you feel the air move, but not to the point that papers are flying around.

Bottom line: If you need a compact and quiet desk fan that won't be intrusive or too powerful, the Zippi will be an excellent fit. It won't cool an entire room or anything, but it will provide cooler air around your personal space.

"Best Desk Fan Ever."
This neat little portable gizmo is all the breeze that you will ever need on your desk!

It is light and yet sturdy enough to be taken around. With 2 speed settings I can choose the most favorable amount I like. It folds and will easily fit on a decent desk ( for size reference, it is smaller than a football).

This sleek wonder from the Vornado brand will definitely create a good breeze. The reach of its breeze is more than an arm's length. It doesn't create a "Vortex wind" effect like the standard Vornado, but it will certainly cool you down on a Hot 100+ day. Also the best part about it is that it is really really silent. It will not annoy you or your coworker.

I have been using it for more than a month now and I most certainly recommend it to one and all!

"Great little fan. Bad unit.", I LOVE this fan. I do. It's small. It's quiet. It's fun to stick your finger into the blades.

BUT.

Mine started making a buzzing/grinding noise. Basically the bearing wore out. I only had it for a couple of weeks when it started. I found that if I flip the fan upside-down it doesn't buzz anymore, so that's how I'm using it. Upside-down!

Small
Easy to pack and take with you.
Quiet (You almost can't hear it when it's on low.)
Just right for a desk or bedside table.

MINUS:

Bearing wore out in 2 weeks. (I assume this is a rare occurrence, and it's certainly not stopping me from buying another.)

Not big enough for a whole room. (This is a personal fan. It's not going to move air around your office/bedroom.)



"Awesome fan", I have used one of these fans now for several years and don't think that a better fan could be made that provides cooling to a small space. I generally use one at my desk at work and also keep on my bedside table. This fan is very quiet, even on high speed, and does an extremely good job of keeping things cool.

"I'm A fan of this quiet fan!", I have had this fan for about 2 months and I just love it. It is only effective in a small area, but then that's what it was designed for. I have it on my nightstand, pointing dead at me as I sleep. My husband snores and gets a sore throat when I put a regular fan on in the room, but this keeps me cool and comfy all night without disturbing him. The sound it makes is like music to my ears, it is not only very quiet, but the muted sound it does make is pleasant, like a gentle rainfall. So nice to sleep to.
I think this would also be perfect for a desk or office cubical too. I am going to order one for my bathroom, as the tiny size is very easy to accommodate in any room, even my tiny bath! Great also for a dorm room, cute colors too!
After this purchase I am a true believer and will be buying more vornado products soon.

"Amazing Product", I bought this fan to sit on my desk and cool me off after I run to work. It is a far better product than I was expecting from the price paid. I did not notice the fan blades were fabric in the photos or product description but they work very well and you don't have to worry about running into them. The fan generates almost no heat or noise while in operation. It is attractive and sturdy in construction and I recommend it to anyone looking for a small, close proximity desktop fan.

"Disappointing...", Quit working after weeks, despite very little use. Also, the stitching was loose upon arrival. I otherwise liked the general concept of a small and quiet desk fan.



 
Read this reviews before You buy...

"Good performance, when it was working.", I ordered this to have a fan I could fit on my desk at work, and for that purpose it worked great. After two weeks of no problems using it, it just wouldn't turn on. Some other reviews mention the same problem occurring at different time spans, but it seems to be an issue with this particular fan. The cost of sending it back to the shipper isn't worth the refund, so don't rely on being able to return it later if it does break suddenly.

"Died in less than two months!", It was a nice little fan but it died RIGHT when my return policy expires so I cannot get a replacement. I will not buy another one again.

"Great little fan - I ordered another!", This fan looks nice, is quiet, and price is pretty good. I ordered one for my desk at the office since the company is getting cheap and raising the a/c temp in the building. It's now mid to upper '70s in the office.

Low speed is fine for close quarters - within a couple feet of the fan, and the high speed really moves air for such a small fan and soft nylon blades.

After checking this one out, I gave that one to my wife for her office and ordered a second one for me.

Highly recommended.

"Great personal fan!", This is our third Zippi fan. We now have one on our piano and one on each of our desks. They are so quiet we sometimes forget to turn them off! The Zippi is NOT a fan for an entire room - rather a fan for a person. The footprint is so small the Zippi can go anywhere. This specific fan came without "feet" but a quick trip to the hardware store got us o-rings in just the right size (remove the black stand by pulling out on one side). Also, this fan had trouble with the fan not staying in place - easily fixed by removing the black stand and squeezing it together (by hand) as much as possible.

"Great low power desk fan", This is a great desk fan for someone just needing a bit of a breeze on their desk. It's no high powered air moving beast, but it gets the job done. Today it's 100 degrees outside and we could all use a little extra breeze when we get back in the office... for me it has been a life saver in that sense.

It has the fabric blades so no chance of getting hurt if you accidentally bump it or get a finger in there, it's ultra quiet and doesn't take up much space (and folds away nicely too).

Great little desk fan, highly recommended.
