Others say...
"Excellent desk fan" This fan is a must for every desk bound person out there. It is quiet and pushes the right amount of air that anyone could want. I am a fan for life! "Everything I wanted" I was looking for a discreet desk fan that would quietly give me relief from a momentary hot flash. This fan is it. The size is great. It's quiet. It produces just enough of a breeze to help me get back to comfortable, even on slow speed. I was worried that the fabric blades wouldn't produce and didn't think I needed them for safety. I was wrong on both counts. They produce sufficient cooling air movement and the first time I turned the fan on I inadvertently stuck my finger through the blades. Lucky they're harmless. I was slightly concerned about the two-handed operation referred to in many reviews. It's not a problem I love this fan. "This fan will break" These fans last a week before they start to make noises, but at first they're pretty quiet. I hope this company can hire some engineers or do something to make that quiet, cool breeze last longer. "surprisingly powerful, clever" As a desk fan, this almost has too much force -- I have to angle it slightly away from me! I really like the unusual design. Much prefer it to a standard cheapy little fan -- looks better in a professional environment. "I love this fan!" I am about to purchase my second fan of this type because sadly, my first one just died with over a year of good, reliable, and probably excessive use! I probably used this fan every day during most of the year (except winter) and it would be on anywhere from 4-10 hours a day. Some may say that it doesn't provide enough power, but in my office it was perfect and quiet. Since it doesn't circulate (which I don't want) I actually have it across the room from me and it kept the air moving without it blowing directly in my face. I especially love the cloth fan blades, they're super easy to clean (takes 1 minute to clean them!) and of course it can't injure anyone if you hit it. It is a little heavy, but I actually like that, as some personal fans I have had in the past have a way of vibrating themselves right off the table! I was so sad to see mine poop out- love that I found it again on Amazon!

Vornado FA1-0007-24 Zippi Desk Fan
What our customer's say! "Great for small office & child safe", This little fan is great for a small office where you want a gentle breeze that will not send your papers flying. Just enough to circulate air in a stuffy room with no windows. I love the fabric blades!! They are so cool! You can touch the blades while they are spinning and you barely feel a tap. I learned this by experience, as the fan turns off in the back and I did not give enough clearance for my hand. This is a great fan for a child safe environment. By the way, the picture is deceiving: the blades flop down when not in use--not sticking out as shown in photo. I had been confused looking a the photo about how blades could be fabric and not have some sort of wire in it. As for those negative reviews about the motor breaking down-- I Left mine running all day and over a weekend and is still working like new and I have had mine for months with no problems. Also, this fan is VERY quiet so don't forget to turn it off at end of day! "almost silent at lowest setting, with decent airflow", I sleep with a fan blowing air in my face. I've been searching for fans quiet enough that my mate is not bothered by the sound of the motor or the air wooshing over the blades. On low speed this fan has a respectable breeze across my face, no noticeable hum from the motor, and silent enough that you can scarcely hear it unless you are within a few feet of it. On high speed there is a more noticable hum from the motor, and the noise from the blades is louder, but you gain a significant amount of airflow at this speed. The blades have had obstructions in their path (my hand usually, reaching for the nightstand in the dark) many times without any damage or loss of balance to the motor. (it remains quiet after all of that abuse) If you are looking for a silent fan, this is the best i've found so far. "Died after 90 days", Bought this in summer for a trip. It arrived promptly and traveled well, but I ended up not needing it/didn't use it. A few months later, moved into a poorly ventilated office and figured it would be perfect. It was...until it wasn't. I always ran it at the lower speed, never on for more than an hour at a time. Accidently put it on "high" one day and after about 40 minutes it died. It just stopped working! I was really bummed because I liked it a lot, but the fine print on the warranty states that you have to ship it back with a $20 check for shipping/handling. Not worth it. Oh well, I guess once more you get what you pay for. "Perfect Small Fan for a desk", I wanted a small, quiet fan to create a gentle breeze in my office. The Zippi is just right. Either speed is quite quiet (I can listen to music and forget the fan is running). It looks great too. It's lasted months and months so far. It is NOT the equivalent of a 10 inch fan; if you want a strong breeze or you'll be some distance from the thing (I'm a foot or two from it) this is NOT the fan for you. "The positive reviews have it right!", Since there are so many reviews, I'll keep this short. This fan is rather small. It's quiet and has nylon cloth blades (that are even shaped like a wing). As such, it does not move lots of air like the larger Vornado fans. However, it excels as a desk fan when aimed at you. It also excels at being packed into a suitcase and for traveling, will move a lot more air than no fan at all... Given that the fan is well constructed, it seems to me to be a very fair value. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "exactly as promised -- so far", I've gone through two or three personal fans, something to sit on my desk or computer table and provide some (preferably quiet) cooling in warm and stuffy environments. When my last one stopped working right, I ordered this Zippi fan. It is exactly what I was hoping for, and it appears to be terrific if your needs are like mine. I sit at the computer (or, turned the other way, at my desk) no more than a foot from where I've put the fan, and the fan provides just the right amount of relief (at low speed much of the time, high speed otherwise). It is super-quiet and has a small footprint. The one thing I miss slightly is variable/continuous speeds versus two fixed speeds, but that's a quibble. I can't speak to how long it will last, but functionally it's great so far. Also, it's much easier to clean than fans that have a housing around the blades, and I love the fact that it tilts to different positions. I'm ordering another one for my home office. "bad quality", Fan hub and blades popped off after one week. Superglued it back on. Then motor burnt out after about 10 months. "Perfect for what it is", This is a desk fan so don't buy it if you want it to blow your hair off. I use it beside my bed at night because my wife is bothered by the ceiling fan. It works perfect for what it is. It's quiet and provides enough power to keep me cool. "The perfect desk fan", I have been looking for a long time for a fan that is compact and very quiet as I work in a dead silent office that sometimes gets a little warm. This fan fits my requirements perfectly. It's the quietest fan I have ever used and moves just the right amount of air for a personal desk fan. It also takes up very little space without having a large case around it. I highly recommend this fan to anyone who wants a desk fan for work but doesn't want to disturb the people around them with a loud, constant whirring noise. I have used computers that are louder than this fan. "Does What It Says It Will Do: Has a specific purpose", The instructions say the fan is designed to create air flow in the specific direction it is pointed. I have mine in my work cubicle pointing right at me to create some air movement: from 2.5 feet away set on low speed there is a nice air flow, which is how it is set up in my cubicle. The fan is not strong enough to bounce wind off the walls and does not disperse air flow to a wide area. Great design, looks good sitting on my side desktop; the cloth fan blades are safe and clever. Think about what your cooling needs are before you buy; this fan does an excellent job at what is was designed to do, a small personal fan that creates air flow in a specific direction. ![]() |
