"Take the Lead" I absolutely love this movie, my husband and I have watched it a million times already, the cast, story, and the music is just superb. It deserves an academy award. I just wish in DVD format, we can go directly to the movie, rather than having to fast forward through several advertisements. Love Pierre Dulaine, Antonio Banderas, Alfre Woodwart and all the "Dungeoun Kids". DVD is good condition. Thank you. "Take The Lead" The movie was excellent! Each actor shows outstanding preparations for their roles in dancing and the blending of hop-hop and classical dancing is superb! I recommend this movie to everyone who loves dancing and great acting. My hat is of to Antonio Banderas, Ya Ya DaCosta and the rest of the actors! "Magical" This is another movie where an adult finds a creative way to intervene in the lives of troubled inner-city youths to teach them dignity, respect, and a little ballroom dancing. Antonio Banderas did a fantastic job in this film with a great mix of meekness and toughness. The magical part was not necessarily the plot (although it was touching) but how Banderas found the $200 entry fee for each of the couples in the competition, plus dresses/tuxes for them, and how the authority figures do not call security to remove the interlopers at the cotillion nor at the competition when they hijack the sound system. At 2 hours long, its about 15 minutes too long, but is enjoyable overall. "Life Lessons" This movie teaches a lot of things if you pay attention to it. It teaches us to treat others with kindness and to have manners. It teaches us to treat others with respect no matter the color of their skin. All cultures can get along if you respect each others background. "Take The Lead DVD" Excellent DVD. This movie stars Antonio Banderas, and he definitely still has the moves! Very entertaining and lively movie. Soundtrack has great music. High regards. Received in perfect condition, and quick and easy transaction.

"Take the Lead", product delivered in very short time beautifull movie 1 regret : in Europe only playable on your laptop, not on tv, something about restricted areas, it's a pity "Time to take out your dancing shoes", This was a great movie. I had never seen it before and everyone has been trying to get me to watch it. I finally sat down and watched it. And I couldn't get enough of it. I would have to say out of the entire movie, the ending was the best part. From when they entered the competition to the last tango. I had a blast and it kept me on my toes. I love this movie, it great!!!! "I love Antonio Banderas!:)", I love dance films but Banderas does a great job as a charming dance teacher who helps iner city kids to show what they got. I reccomend this film it has a beat that will make you wanna move.:) 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Great movie For a bad day!", my bestfriend/sister kept telling me that i really needed to see this movie. so i saw it for sale and bought it and about six months later while i was cleaning i put it in and watched it. i have to say she was right (don't get use to it). i loved it! it is well worth the money and the dancing was fantastic. "Wow! Great movie, minimal profanities.", I didn't expect to love this movie as much as I did, so I was very pleased to have a new favorite. I saw clips of it on tv but never had the opportunity to watch the whole thing, so I purchased it and was enthralled. The dancing is so much fun to watch and the actors are very likeable (even though the high school kids start off kind of rough). I wouldn't call this a family friendly movie because there are some serious subjects touched upon (alcoholism, prostitution, illegal substances) but I must say I was very impressed that the profanities were kept to a minimum and there was no sex (only implied that the mother of one teen was a prostitute). It was a touching story about how a teacher reached a group of high school trouble-makers by teaching them to ballroom dance. I LOVED the dancing. I didn't read other reviews enough to see what everyone else thought, but it was incredible and enjoyable to watch (I wouldn't call the actors professionals as there seemed to be some disjointed spots, but the characters they played were supposed to be amateurs anyway). The music was also fantastic. I don't like alternative or rap music, but they did some mixes with some rap and some Gershwin classics, and the mixes were amazing. It made me want to get up and dance too. :-) I'll be buying the soundtrack soon! "Amazing", I was amazed by this movie, but I am mainly an action movie fan. But I seen this with my girl and we both loved it. Nice dancing by everyone, u never become bored and it kind makes u wanna learn ballroom dancing after. Oh yea my favorite part was when the teacher takes one of the girls from his dance studio to his classroom and wows his students with is amazing salsa dancing skills. "Throroughly Enjoyed", I loved this movie. Who cares about what it is trying to say. Loved the dancing. Antonio Banderas tango was just beautiful. Worth watching again and again. "Sort of a hip hop / dance version of Rock Around the Clock", Don't Knock the Rock / Rock Around the Clock It seems like every generation has their own music. Here a teacher tries to get through to the lost bunch using ball room dance and gets an intro into hip hop and dj rock dance music. Worse communication results... tango in a waltz. You can break something doing this at home. |
