"Mmmm, bread...." I'm happy with this purchase. I'll glad I went for the 1 lb loaf machine, because it's all my wife and I need. There's no use making a huge loaf and then expecting to eat it over several day because bread without preservatives and industrial drying goes stale in a day... If you want nice fresh bread, then you need to bake it daily. The bread texture is good out of this machine. I was a little worried that all we would get was dense bread, but this machines options allow me to make a nice light loaf. And the french bread setting (5hrs making time) is fantastic. Don't skimp on your ingredients. Buy proper high gluten 'bread flour' or pasta flour! "Zoji 1 pound loaf Breadmaker" Very nice unit, takes up very little counter space. Not as programmable as the 2 pound unit. I use home-ground whole wheat flour and am still experimenting with getting the quality loaf we used to get with the larger machine. "great machine !" Great bread machine. Easy to use... The breads cook up just the way we like them. The delay timer is wonderful for having fresh bread in the morning or whenever you need it. The size of the machine is perfect for my counter. Am planning on giving one as a gift. Definitely a 5 plus star rating. "Nifty" Makes good white bread and great French-style bread (crunchy crust but not hard). The bread toasts well be the pieces are too tall to fit into an ordinary toaster. It's fairly large if you have space constraints. Very quiet, doesn't get too hot. Has a delay timer that's easy to use, and an "other ingredient" beep for adding that which should only be stirred in. An excellent bred maker. "Comparison with Zojirushi BBCCX20" I already owned the Zojurushi BBCCX20 (the 2-Pound-Loaf Bread Machine) for 2 years before deciding on buying the smaller model to adjust to changing needs. Unfortunately, I expected the same kind of "programmable" machine. The only thing programmable on the Zojirushi BB-HAC10 is the delay timer. Do not buy this machine expecting to control the time of rise, kneed and bake. Maybe I'm the only person who did use this feature on the other model, but it was truly useful for making spelt bread. The only way to make a nice spelt bread using this machine is the "Quick Baking Setting" and it cannot be combined with the timer. So impossible for me to make a spelt bread for breakfast. Things I do like : -The size of the machine is perfect, I store it in the cupboard. -The beep sound (for adding raisins, nuts, etc.) is not to long or annoying like the BBCCX20 which would wake me up in the middle of the night. -Easier to clean than BBCCX20. There are no nylon inserts in the bread pan to which bread sticks to. By the way, the first unit I received blacked out after 5 minutes. It was my first defective purchase from Amazon and replacement service was as perfect as I had read by other customers.

What our customer's say! "Better loaves than the Zojirushi BBCCX20", This machine makes perfectly-shaped, wonderful-tasting bread. I got it after the Zojirushi BBCCX20, with its two paddles, and un-centered dough balls, kept making totally lopsided loaves. This one's perfect. I love it. Small loaves without waste--great if your family is small enough. Much better crust than my Breadman Ultimate, from which I upgraded. "My Mini Zo Arrived!", *****UPDATE!!!! I received my Mini-Zo and am overjoyed. Made my first loaf of basic white bread using the Zoji's recipe. The bread baked beautifully. The crust was crispy but light; the bread was soft with nice little air pockets. Not too dense, not too light but just right!!! Others have called the loaves "tiny" so I was expecting little child-size play loaves. However, the loaf is a nice size which I would describe as a "half-loaf" of bread. It sliced beautifully and tasted great. I had two small problems. First, it was difficult for me to remove the loaf from the pan. However, I expect that as I bake more loaves, they will release more easily. My bigger problem was that darn kneading paddle. It baked right into the bottom of the loaf and I could not get it out. It's still in there and I will remove it when I get to that portion of the bread. I tried removing it while it was still warm, however, the paddle just went deeper into the loaf and I did not want to destroy my beautiful first loaf of bread. I e-mailed Zojirushi and they immediately responded back. To release the bread, remove the pan and turn it upside down to rest for 10-15 minutes. With regard to the stubborn kneading blade...they advised me to remove the blade at the beginning of the LAST rise after the stirdown. Simple. Regarding the size of the machine....I would compare it to the size of a KitchenAid food processor. It is surprisingly heavy and well made. It is very quiet and runs smoothly. Today I placed an Amazon.com order for the bread machine book (Bread Machine Magic and More Bread Magic) that was recommended by one of the other customers. I ordered it because it specifically has recipes for 1 lb loaves. Most other bread machine cookbooks offer recipes for 1 1/2 to 2 lb loaves. All in all, I am extremely pleased with my mini Zo and so happy that I ordered it online from Cutlery and More with free shipping. I placed the order and the next morning it was shipped out and on it's way to me. "works great for a small space", I don't have a lot of counter space so this is a good size. I used it several times since I bought it and I only ended up throwing away the bread (which turned out too heavy and hard) twice. I think that was due to old flour and most likely incorrect proportions of the ingredients. The other times, the bread turned out great. But I have sticking with the soft cycle though. Clean up was relatively easy. Its great to use the timer and wake up to the smell of fresh bread in the morning, but I guess any breadmaker with a timer can do that. This is my first breadmaker and it is perfect for my family of 2 so far. I would give it 5 stars if the price was lower. "Zorirushi BB-HAC10 1 lb Mini Breadmaker", Bought this breadmaker based on the reviews on Amazon. This breadmaker is terrific - have had it 2 weeks and made 2 perfect loaves already. With the second loaf, I deviated from their recipe book, but the bread still came out perfect. Called Zojirushi about a dvd on bread making as a video came in the box. Received the dvd in a week. Also emailed the company with a question and had an answer the next day. I think this is a great machine. "One cool breadmaker", This is one cool machine for a couple or a single. We are both retired and we like homemade bread. The old DAK had a large pan and did not really bake well in the center, so we used it for several years to mix and knead the bread and then bake in the oven. Finally, the DAK engine died, and we looked for a replacement machine. After a lot of thought, we went for the smaller machine, with some reservations due to questions of whether it would be too small. Not a problem. We got it, and immediately made great bread. The recipes are simple, and the bread comes out perfect baked in the machine, or pulled out and baked in the oven. I just finished a loaf of French bred that is crusty, tasty and ready for dipping in oil. I love this machine. It is small enough to leave on the counter, it is quiet, and it makes great bread. 
Read this reviews before You buy... "Worth every penny!!!!!", This Zo Mini bread machine is simply the best. I had a bread machine before Hurricane Katrina flooding washed away everything we had, and I waited this long to finally get another one. I learned from the King Arthur catalog site that they used Zojirushi machines in their test kitchens, so i knew a Zo would be a good choice for me. Only thing I hesitated on was whether I should pay a little more and get the 2 lb loaf machine or this little one. Finally decided on the Mini, and I am very happy with it. I've had it about 2 weeks, and made bread 3 times. It makes the perfect size loaf for 2 people. I would rather make bread more often and have it really fresh. This loaf lasts 2-3 days for us. But,the best part is, the bread itself!!! It makes, hand down, the very best loaf of white bread I have ever had.....and I come from a family that baked homemade bread since I was a kid. The loaf was so soft and tender, and the crust was crunchy and perfectly browned. The pan itself is a heavy one, which means a better crust,whereas my old machine had a lightweight pan. I never have a problem removing the loaf from the pan after baking, because I spray the stem in the base of the pan, as well as kneading paddle with a buttery spray before inserting the paddle on the stem. Works every time. Bread pops right out, and paddle stays in pan. I also have a Zo rice cooker that I am very satisfied with.If you want a small bread machine that makes fantastic loaves of bread, don't hesitate to get this one. It's awesome!!!! And, Zojirushi sends a dvd with the machine, which simplifies the process for you. "Awesome bread machine", I just love this bread machine. My husband bought it for my Mother's Day gift. He got me Cuisnart bread machine, but it was horrible. We send that one back and got this one instead. It is just a perfect size for me and my husband. I am so happy to have this machine and hope it will last for a long time. "ZO BB", I have had a cheaper breadmaker in the past. After doing my "homework" the Zojirushi BB has been GREAT. Just the right sized loaf for a smaller family and so easy to bake another. You will love it, too! "Perfect little breadmaker!", My husband and I have really been enjoying our Zojirushi. It's small enough so we have have it on the kitchen table, and I've tried a number of the recipes in the booklet that came with it. They've turned out well. Now I'd like to find some recipes that use more whole grains and experiment a little. "I LOVE this machine", This 1-lb loaf breadmaking machine is just great for my husband and I as empty nesters. It's so easy to use and the smell of a fresh-baked loaf is a heavenly scent. I LOVE the bread it makes, well I LOVE it too much, but it's a somewhat "innocent" pleasure. I store what bread that is not gobbled up right away in a Ziplock gallon size bag and it has kept fresh for five days and counting. This bread makes WONDERFUL toast as well. The machine is easy to use, easy to clean, and does not take up too much space on the counter. It is somewhat pricy tho, but I think it is a good investment. |
