"As I expected" Well...so far so good. The product is the same as shown, with a lot of space for documents. Hopefully I won't ever be in a fire to truly have to review if it does or if it doesn't work. "Does what it needs to do" I bought this to store some keys and various condo files. It's nice and compact and seems well-made. I only wish this were a combination lock instead of one with a key. I'm afraid of losing the key and not being able to unlock it. "Poor packaging!" The item itself would rate a 5, but I had to deduct two stars for Amazon's poor packing job. They used a much larger Amazon box on the outside of the product's own packaging and filled the extra space with crumpled paper. The weak Amazon cardboard arrived ripped & smashed. Inside, the product box was smooshed in on one corner and the fire safe also had a slightly smashed corner - no way to tell if it was there before the item was shipped to me or if it happened enroute. It doesn't look bad enough to compromise the integrity of the file safe, so I will pass on the hassle of trying to return it. It would have been better if they just slapped a label on the product box. The Amazon box just couldn't hold the weight of this item! "safe & secure" Am very pleased to finally have a file system to keep all my important papers in at home & not have to rent a security box at the bank. It locks nice & secure & am comforted to know my documents are safely under lock & key. Be prepared for how heavy it is but other than that I love it.

What our customer's say! "Heavy and Hard to Move", I'm sure this would do the job in flood or fire. If you never want to move it from a corner of your closet, buy it. Otherwise, do more research, as it is extremely heavy and has no handles. Big PITA to move about. "flimsy", I bought 2 of these, one for me and one as a christmas gift for my father. When I took it out of the box, the entire locking mechanism fell off the case and a bunch of foamy/cardboardy stuff began to crumble on the floor. I panicked thinking, how am I going to send this heavy thing back.. but I just pushed it back on and it stuck in place. The stuff that fell out must've been the fire proof material obviously, but I never expected it to just fall off like that. Well, it's no so much for locking out others, but at least it should keep things from burning in a fire. fingers and toes crossed. Also, just enough space for some important documents, but not much. I didn't expect too much since it really wasn't all that expensive. I guess it's ok for the overall cost. "poor packing ", The box looks like it will do the job. However It has one corner smashed so it doesn't look good so I give it three stars. As the other review stated it was poorly packaged in a oversized weak box not suitable for something this heavy.To much trouble to return.
