Others say...
"LaLanne's Juicer" This is the best juicer ever. We had another model we got as a gift and it sounded like a jet turbo warming up, The LaLanne juicer has to be 10 times quieter. It seems like the pulp is almost dry. It really does what the infomercials say it does but Amazon had the best price. We got the stainless model for a few bucks more but the white one has the same innards, I just liked the black and stainless trim better. Cleans up easy too, what more is there? "I love this juicer! " Great juicer. I don't find it difficult to clean unless I use very soft fruits or vegetables by themselves. I love it! "juicer " I like the juicer but there are a couple design problems. The spout does not open up very much. The base stops the spout thus if you are not careful the juice backs up if it is somewhat thick. I like to make enough juice to fill a 12-16oz cup. This won't fit under the unit. I have solved this by placing the juicer on a high counter with the spout over the edge. I then catch the juice with a funnel placed in the cup. I was determined to make this purchase work out. Other helpful hints, keep a blender near by for your bananas and papaya these will not work in the juicer. Then mix your juice from the juicer into the blender to blend. Enjoy, where there is a will there is a way. "Not the best product." The concept is great of juicing your way to health but the design has alot to be desired. If you're not careful, you will wind up with pulp all over the walls. So not only are you cleaning the juicer but spending extra time cleaning the walls too. The info-mercial raves about how little pulp there is in the collector unit but what they fail to show you is how much also accumulates on the underside of the top piece of the unit. The big selling point was the 3 easy payments. I thought about returning it within the first 30 days but figured since I paid so much for shipping, I might as well keep it and deal with the shortcomings. Juicing is still a good option. Note: I also have another Braun juicer from 20 years ago or so and it still works great and there's no chance of the pulp hitting the walls on that one. The only thing with this one is that the chute is very small. I will be taking this juicer to the office so I can juice at work. "Wasted fruit and money." I have to agree with others who have said this machine is wasteful. When Jack mentions you can extract more juice for just pennies I thought, "Hey why not give it a try." However, after trying this product we can't justify the cost since we buy organic fruit. By the time the juicer is done most of what you and I would eat ends up in the pulp collector and we're rewarded with only a measly amount of juice. Not to mention that there is over six pieces to clean after each use. Moreover in the TV infomercial Jack puts whole fruits in the juicer with piths, leaves, and even the stems. In reality, the instructions advise you against doing such a thing. Overall, in the long run it would be more cost effective and healthier if you just stuck with your blender.

What our customer's say! "juicer", I'm usually intimidated by new appliances, etc. so this juicer was in the box close to a month before I even took it out. This juicer is very easy to use, and comes assembled, so I was pleased. I have only used it once, but I am very delighted with it. It comes with 2 recipe booklets for making a variety of juices, plus recipes for healthy, whole grain muffins and cakes using the pulp. Use the food pusher as instructed so the veggies don't pop back out. Also for ease of cleaning it is suggested to line the pulp collector with a plastic bag. There is cleaning involved but to be expected and comes with the easy tool to disassemble the blade, I would buy it again in a second. Particularly great if you have your own garden and an excess of vegetables. "save your money", I was so disappointed in this machine. It does make great juice and it is easy to make it, but for the amount of time it takes to take it apart and clean it, it is just not worth it. It is definetly easier to clean and peel your own fruits and veggies and put them in the blender. It is also a pretty big machine, not something you would want to leave out on a kitchen counter all of the time. "Motor of juicer just stopped not even finishing 1 glass of apple juice", It took a while for my Power Juicer Pro to arrive since my cousin had to ship it from the US to the Philippines where I live. I was so excited to use the juicer but we haven't even finished making 1 glass of apple juice and the motor just stopped. It wouldn't start again and we don't know what to do. If we send the item back to the US through courier, it would cost as much as the juicer so we made the most expensive half glass of apple juice ever! There's no quality control and I wouldn't buy Jack Lalanne again! "Juices many hard fruits and veggies well but not soft or geens. Cleanup is lousy.", I bought this juicer to improve my jucing lifestyle and it has done that exactly. I juice more now than I ever did before. I have made many great juice drinks for myself. With no previous juicing experience in juicing, it has served me well. The pulp that falls into the pulp catcher seems to be to moist. This leads me to believe that it's not getting most of the juice out of the fruits/veggies that I am hoping for. If I put any greens into it, even when I ball it up and follow it with hard veggie pushing down, It seems to get very little green juice. Soft fruits also do not seem to do that well. So there are fruit and veggies I do not put into my juicer. Another problem I have is that pulp sometime come out the sides of the pulp catcher. And the cleaning up after this is a pain-in-the butt. To be exact, it is lousy. I love juicing so I bear with it. I am looking for another juicer that will expand the number of fruits and vegetables that I can juice as well as a juicer that will get more juice out. The prices for fruits/veggies has gone up and I want more bang for the buck. I probably will invest in a masticating unit either a sinle auger or double even if they cost more. This unit has given what I wanted initially, but has outlived it's use and capabilities for me. If you cannot afford a larger unit, this is a good unit as jack Lelanne sez. "upgraded looks, same performance", The "deluxe" juicer is exactly the same as the regular Power Juicer except that it is black and silver. Note I say silver, not stainless steel, because most of the metalic parts are plastic. The motor is the same, as is the controls. Save your $$ and get the regular or upgrade to a Breville which gives you more juice with a finer grater and variable speeds for different fruits and veggies. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Don't buy this--very bad machine", When I heard that Jack's machine would take whole apples, I seemed to have lost all sense and ordered his juicer, which I believed would be an upgrade from my Mr. Juiceman. It's time consuming to cut products to fit the juicer. What Jack fails to mention in his ads--his chute does take apples, but only small ones, the ones you usually don't buy. Thus, I'm still cutting products, same as usual. I juice all kinds of fruits and veggies and have over many years. If you are new to the experience of juicing, you will quickly learn that better made, more professional models are $400-500. Thus, you must choose these lower cost models, that despite their glitz are largely made of plastic. The only thing going for this Jack LaLanne model is that they used good sense in making the plastic black. Despite every good cleaning, white plastic models take on fruit/veggie stains that over time are very difficult to remove. This machine constantly chokes, too-often fails to juice despite pressure placed on the chute, or it stops entirely with constipation. If I'm not wrestling with a stuck chute, I must stop the machine in the middle of juicing, dislodge the partially juiced products, dealing with mess. It's not a fun experience. I cannot say I had a better experience with the Juiceman model except to say that it was far more reliable than this one and less messy. May I suggest for anyone who intends to buy a juicer to do their homework? Check for the speed of juicing--which affects the quality of juice. Check the size of the chute and how the juicer handles root veggies (hard veggies like carrots and beets), soft and thick leafies. If poorly constructed, you will not get the best benefits of the juice and much product may be going to the garbage instead as juice to your mouth. Each time I use this Jack LaLanne model, I have to laborously wrap leafies around carrots or apples or be sure that I clear the machine with a juicy veggie (like a cucumber), before plotting to juice the next item. There's too much involved using this machine. It's a mess. Don't buy it. "The #1 Juicer!", This is the best juicer out there. It juices just about anything and the clean up is a breeze. It comes with two blades and disassebles easily too! "BEST BUY FOR YOUR MONEY", I have owned this juicer for over a year and really love it. I use it mainly for my own version of "V-8" juice (carrots, celery, spinach, lemon) to easily and quickly increase the number of vegetables I eat during the day. This type of veggie juice also gives good immune system support - I rarely get sick when everyone around me is getting the flu or a cold. The juicer itself is fairly quiet and the large intake tube easily holds whole carrots, celery, bunches of spinach or a whole (peeled) lemon. Yes, there is some prep time to making a juice (cutting ends of carrots, peeling the lemon) but the results are worth it. Your health is worth it! It does take a few minutes to clean the juicer but I found a vegetable scrub brush works great for cleaning the blade and screen. Also, use small bags to line the pulp receptacle then pull out and dispose or use for garden compost. Easy. I don't know if this is the best juicer on the market but, without having to spend a fortune, it certainly more than serves its purpose .... I use it several times a week and haven't had any particular issues. Definitely a great boost to your health. "Great juice", Those of us old enough to remember Jack LaLanne doing jumping jacks as we watched on black and white television sets will recall that the early fitness guru was really into fresh juices. My original intent was to get one of those rotating machines where you press an orange onto it and out comes a glass of juice. It turns out these juicers are not as easy to find as they used to be. So I decided to upgrade a bit and get this machine. If you are making orange or other citrus juice you need to remove the peel first. This is because this baby will liquify anything. Pulverized orange peel is not that tasty. So at the start, it is messier and takes more work than using a rotating juice extraction device. But that is the only real advantage. LaLanne's makes a great cup of orange juice. And if that is all the use it gets, you will not be disappointed. However shortly after I got it, I was asked by my wife to get some apple juice for some apple sauce she was making. While picking up my keys on the kitchen counter, I spied Jack's machine, and being basically lazy, I took two apples and ran them through the juicers. The result was delicious. I had no idea an apple had so much juice. Now there will be those who will want to juice carrots and celery and other healthy items. I am sure this product will work just fine. But as for me, I am content drinking fruit juices. If I get really brave some day, I might try a tomato. "Works great and EASY TO CLEAN", I'm generally suspicious of anything advertised in infomercials. "Not available in stores" usually means "if you saw this piece of junk up close in a store, you'd never buy it". But I don't eat enough vegetables and fruits and I've wanted to try juicing for years, so I picked up this model of the Jack LaLanne juicer at Costco for $93 plus tax. After two weeks I'm extremely pleased with it. I juice mostly carrots, celery, apples, and ginger root but I've also tried mango, oranges, fennel, parsley, and a beet. It seems to do good work with all of them though I understand this type of centrifugal juicer is less effective with wheatgrass or leafy greens. But that's not what I use it for, so no problem. EASE OF CLEANING is my number one consideration in buying any kitchen appliance. If it's tricky or difficult to clean, it will end up sitting on a shelf collecting dust. This machine turns out to be surprisingly easy to clean using my dishwasher. After juicing, I unscrew the blade (watch your fingers) and screen and rinse them off under the faucet, using the included vegetable brush to remove any stuck-on material. I use a little spatula to dislodge chunks of pulp from the underside of the hood, briefly rinse the plunger and throw all the removable pieces into the dishwasher. This whole process takes at most two minutes. I never use heated drying on my dishwasher, so I don't have to worry about anything melting -- a concern because some of the washable parts of this machine, which look like stainless steel, are actually durable plastic with a metallic coating. I just run the cycle, then open the door so the dishes can air dry. Turn your dishwasher's heated drying OFF when you wash your juicer, or anything else made of plastic you think might melt, and you'll never have the problem of things warping or melting, as some posters have experienced. This model includes an extra cutting blade, which is great, since any juicer blade will need replacing after a year or so -- even if you don't dull it by accidentally inserting a mango pit. (I could have kicked myself for that! Yikes!) I use this machine about twice a day and it's actually led to me keeping my kitchen cleaner, since I run the dishwasher twice a day now, rather than twice a week before. lol I'm sure there are Juicers like the Breville that are more solidly-built or superior in other ways, but they also cost 2 to 3 times what this one does. A few tips: READ THE DIRECTIONS! LOL Alternate soft things with harder ones like carrots or apples. Sometimes soft pulp may clog the spout where the juice comes out. Notice when this happens and just run the tip of a knife or spoon over the little plastic button that keeps the juice spout from splashing, to unclog it. If you don't, the reservoir will fill up and juice will start leaking down the sides of the machine all over your counter. Don't put too many things, like apple slices, in the chute at once since they can get wedged in there before they reach the blade. If something seems not to be going through, try gently lifting the plunger up and down. This can let the fruit or veggies bounce around and rearrange themselves for a moment so they hit the cutting blade at a better angle. Slice things like ginger root that have a very tough rind in half, so the blade doesn't just spin against the rind. I'm very happy with this machine, use it every day, and would recommend it to anyone as an entry-level juicer. Get the model with the extra blade. ![]() |
