Others say...
"Brewstation" This is a great product!! Not having a carafe is the way to go! A little bigger than some other makers...but great product. "HAMILTON BEACH BREWSTATION PLUS" I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS ITEM. IT WORKS VERY WELL AND IS EASY TO CLEAN AND FILL. "Great product and price" When I awake in the morning, my coffee is waiting. Straight forward machine and a very good price. "It's been great for months, but now that plastic-y taste makes it undrinkable..." When we first got our Hamilton Beach Brew Station, we were elated. Each cup of coffee was superb and we are pretty finicky when it comes to our coffee. It rarely if ever leaks (maybe just a drop once in awhile), and it is simple and easy to use. I loved the fact that we could serve one cup at a time without having to remove and pour a carafe. I did find the coffee to be a bit weaker at first if we followed the directions, but then I realized that when I was filling it with water to brew, I was using the measurement marks on the carafe on the outside of the carafe, not realizing that these marks were to indicate how much coffee there was post-brewing. Once I started using the markings (faint as they are) on the inside of the carafe, the coffee was indeed superb each and every time. Then, about a month ago, we started noticing a very plastic-y taste and smell that made the coffee undrinkable. I tried flushing with vinegar followed by water many many times, but what was puzzling was the fact that the plastic taste does not correspond with whether the coffee maker has been flushed with vinegar or not. It's very unpredictable. Today the coffee tastes wonderful, tomorrow-- who knows? Because of this, I will not purchase this coffee maker again, unless I am able to learn about some mysterious feature or strategy to prevent this from happening. Prior to the plastic taste (which seemed to come from the coffee maker itself, not the basket or carafe), I was using the permanent gold basket, and it's been fabulous. I just flush the used grinds down the sink and they keep my disposal clean and running well. Hope this helps. "Too Awesome for words!!!" I fell in love with this coffee maker when I was at Three Bears Resort in WI. The ease of using it is wonderful! I love that the all the pieces are dishwasher safe and coffee is hot cup after cup. No more dripping carafe's or burning them for that matter! And I couldn't find this coffee maker anywhere else for this price.

What our customer's say! "leaks, leaks, leaks", Terrible product design. Ruined my countertop. Stained my light oak cabinets. Leaked all over my floor, filled a drawer and ran down the front of solid oak cabinets. Dark streaks Stained won't come out and countertop is buckled and has to be replaced. Still waiting for a satisfactory reply from Hamilton Beach. Initially was told it was a bad gasket. Now am being told it was the screws on bottom of pot. Either way, it is a defective product. "Received as a Gift for Father's Day", My wife got me this coffee maker for Father's Day this year to replace my Krups MC2 (which frequently overflowed along with coffee grounds due to it becoming easily clogged without warning). I must say that I LOVE my new BrewStation overall - no more overflows on the kitchen counter! Very convenient way to fill up my cup, just hold it against the fill valve - almost feel like I'm at a restaurant every morning. Couple suggestions for improvement... 1) The area where you pour the water in is a bit narrow and too far towards the back, but that's a small inconvenience - I manage to get the water in anyway! 2) The brewed coffee doesn't stay really hot for more than a couple hours (shuts off the heat automatically 2 hrs. after brewing). I have to heat my coffee in the microwave by late morning. I suppose this is a safety feature, but would like it to keep hotter longer. Still, aside from those minor annoyances, I give it a thumbs-up for one of the best coffee makers I've owned. I highly recommend it. "Leaks Leaks and More Leaks", I really thought this was the perfect product. I especially loved the idea of having no carafe. However, after having this product for about 3 months, I started to notice that it would leak...occasionally. Now it leaks every time I try to use it. I would not recommend anyone get this product. Although the concept is nice, the problems aren't worth the hassle. "A quality coffee maker", I have one of these at work where I have a coffee service on the side and I was so impressed by the ease of operation and care that I bought one for my home also. It's very easy to keep clean, brews quickly and the absence of a carafe is great. Word of caution...this coffee maker is much taller than a standard machine and so measure accordingly when arranging your counter space. Other than that, I highly recommend it. "Hamilton Beach Brew Station", I purchased a Hamilton Beach Brew Station a couple of years ago and I really like it. I like that there is no coffee pot to clean or to worry about breaking. I like that you can put the basket and the coffee chamber in the dishwasher to clean them. I like that when the coffee sits in the coffee chamber, you can heat it up later in the day and it never tastes bitter, burnt or oily. I like it so much that I just bought two more of them for my coffee-drinking daughters-in-law who thought it was the greatest thing when they came to visit. They are delighted! ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Can't beat it!", I waited 4 months before reviewing this based on the reports that it could leak. It doesn't! Well, aside from the little drips if I'm not pouring into the reservoir opening level, but I've gotten used to it. It makes a perfect cup of coffee! It keeps the brewed coffee hot without burning it. It is great for grabbing a quick cup later to either be reheated or used for iced coffee and it still tastes great! It's easy to clean and fill. Since no carafe, coffee stays hotter longer. Cons: reservoir a little difficult to fill at first. The water level indicator is not backlit so difficult to read, but I go by sound anyway, so no big deal. I've dealt with every kind of drip coffee maker, from Mr. Coffee to Melitta and this one is the BEST! "It must be great!!!", I got this for my wife, I don't drink coffee but she loves it. We have not had any leakage problems and my wife has not complained to me once so it must be great. Also, she was able to program it herself and this is saying a lot as she cannot run the DVD player or set the alarm clock. I say: good job!! "Great Coffeemaker; no ifs, ands or buts", I have only great things to say about this coffeemaker. I read some reviews from others about possible leakage. I've purchased 3 additional of these for family members and not a leak in sight. You do have to be careful filling the water tank because it's at the rear and a little hard to manipulate the amount. However, once the water is in, turn it on and you have fresh coffee for many hours. The secret is to remove the used coffee and filter as soon as the coffee is made. With no coffee grounds residue to leak into the coffee brew, it stays fresher much longer than any other coffee maker around today. And, you can put your cup against the pour button and have yourself 1/2 cup at a time or a full cup. I highly recommend this BrewStation as the greatest invented so far. "BrewStation", Better design and looks compared to last model. No problems so far but still only about a month has gone by. "Terrific purchase........", This BrewStation by Hamilton Beach is a fabulous coffeemaker and so very easy to use. Getting a fresh cup right from the pot just by holding your cup to it is neat. This is the only coffeemaker we are completely sold on, in short we love our brewstation coffeemaker. ![]() |
