"Verbatim DVD+R" One can never go wrong with Verbatims! Stay away from any other brand if you want quality! The seller also provided great service + fast shipping! "Best DL media period." This is the only DL media I have had consistent success with - out of 50+ burns I've had one failure - and I think it was my computer's fault. These DVD's play in any DVD player I've tried except 1 really old one. Also, they do burn at 8x, even though they are stamped at 2.4x "Good quality dual layer DVDs" They served the purpose, and did not give me any errors during burning. I about filled up the disk too since I was backing up Mass Effect (I purchased a digital download of the game and it is 8 gigs in size). This was the main reason to buy these disks, and they worked like a charm. "Just got mine, made in Singapore! The good ones!" I just received mine, it is the good ones made in Singapore. I think Verbatim dropped the Indian supplier. Good move I say. "Verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5GB 2.4X 20pk Spindle " This brand has been conspicuously more reliable than any other I have used and I've used most of the brand names. Virtually zero coasters.

What our customer's say! "Made in Singapore, worked perfect", The package said made in Singapore. I burned one disk at 2.1x speed just to be safe. It was verified as a perfect copy. "Never a bad Verbatim for me", I have used at least two packs of these Verbatim 8.5GB DL discs, burning at 6X speed, and all are fine. I have used at least 100 4.7GB Verbatim DVD+R (plain and Light Scribe) discs, and all are fine. "Veratim are the best.", I tried other brands and they are costers now, Verbatim are the best. I would recommand durning at a slower speed for best results. "Works Perfectly with SATA DVD Burner", Let me start out by saying that I could NEVER burn a Memorex or any brand DL disk when using an IDE DVD burner (tried 3 different brands of burner). Single layer was fine. I'm not sure why, but I'm guessing there was some limitations in the IDE bus on my motherboard and it was corrupting the data when it came to DL disks. My computer would freeze for a moment and then I'd get an error message of some sort. I tried dozens of different burning software and nothing worked until going to a SATA drive. So if your having trouble burning DL disks try upgrading to a SATA DVD burner. I finally got a basic level LG SATA drive and all my problems were solved. I've yet to have a bad burn or any coasters that were caused by a bad disk. These Memorex work fine for me and I've used both the 8x and 2.4x versions. I don't notice any difference between the quality of burn with the 8x vs the 2.4x. All the disks work in my PS3 perfectly. I obviously prefer the 8x due to the time difference it takes to burn a disk but you can get the 2.4x cheaper so I tend to buy them. I also believe that a slower burn will give you a better burned DVD that is likely to have less issues when playing back. But, like I said I haven't had any issues with the 8x and the PS3. I don't think for long term storage of critical data you would want to use a DL disk due to it being more complex in nature and more likely to have issues or fail as it ages. For pure data backups, I use Taiyo Yunden DVD-Rs. "The best DVDs on the market", Verbatim makes the best DVDs I've ever tried. Yes, they're a little harder to find (you usually can only purchase them online) and they're a little more expensive, but they're the best. I've tried other DVDs and found either that I get errors when I burn something to them, or one of my DVD players won't play them. I've never had that happen with these discs. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Verbatim DVD+R DL", I use nothing but, Verbatim to backup on DL DVD's. My last set was purchased here at Amazon.com because they had the best price. I have used well over 300 and never had any issues. "Verbatim Dual Layer DVDs", I've had very good luck with these DVDs. I've seen slightly lower prices, but I am willing to pay a bit more for a quality product. These DVDs are excellent. "No coasters", These are the only dual layer blanks I have tried with a near 100% success rate. Cheaper brands ran 50% to 75% failures. "quick review - GREAT DVD-R-DL", This is just a really quick review to reiterate what others have said. Ever since I switched to using these Verbatim DVD-R-DL, I have not had a single "coaster". They all work perfectly well with my Memorex external burner using Nero recode. I am a now a loyal user of these DVDs. They cost a little more; but if you put them in your amazon cart and check often, the price drops low every couple of months to about $1.25/disc ($25 for a pack of 20 blanks), which I think is a pretty good deal. A year ago they cost twice that, so I'm not complaining. "DL you can trust", I bought a 20 dl pack from amazon last month. I have been burning dvd data of all kind and no one have been damaged. I have tried with other brands before on my DELL Laptop 6400 and I can say that the 65% of the cases they failed (even at the minimum speed without any program loaded - including antivirus). Next Time, I will buy 50 for backups my photos and all other stuff because I trust on media saved on internet and portable media. External hard disk are usefull but not trusted 100% for some facts that I will not mention here. I hope this info can be usefull for you. ![]() |
