Others say...
"We love our Keurig - AND it's saved us money!" I bought my Keurig B70 from Amazon 6 months ago and my hubby and I simply LOVE it! When we remodeled our kitchen, we searched for the best coffeemaker and ended up with a great one with a thermal carafe. However, we rarely used it! Hubby feels it's a real pain to clean up (well, it is!), and we don't agree on what kind of coffee we like. He likes extra-strong and I like it milder and flavored. So we ended up at Starbucks more often than I'd like to admit. He would stop on the way to work, and I'd stop for my Iced Venti Nonfat Caramel Macchiato a few times a week. We had seen a Keurig in action in an office setting and couldn't believe it! When I suggested getting one, he obviously had been thinking the same thing, and as they say, the rest is history! The other, very nice coffeemaker is stored and now our Keurig lives on our counter and is used MANY times per day. Some people might wonder if you really need the 4 drip sizes, but we enjoy having these options. Especially for making those specialty drinks I loved getting from Starbucks! I use the smallest drip size and a strong K-cup, add Splenda and Mrs Richardson's Butterscotch Caramel (so it can melt and disperse). Then I pour it over a tall glass of ice, and add a couple of ounces of milk and it's positively heavenly! If you like, you could drizzle the caramel on afterwards, like Starbucks does, but I prefer it mixed throughout. We've had NO trouble with our Keurig - we use filtered water from the fridge, and we leave the water canister in place for filling. We buy K-cups from Amazon, but have found that our favorites aren't always in stock, so we go to Big Cat Coffees, where they have ALL the kinds at all times! You can even buy an assortment pack from Big Cat - you choose 5 different varieties and you get 5 K-cups of each. That's how we found out that for the strong brew that my husband prefers, Tully's Kona and Green Mountain Extra Bold Dark Magic are the two favorites. I use those to make my Caramel Macchiatos, but if I drink it hot, I prefer the flavored varieties. Your Keurig will become a conversation piece the first time you have company over! They will love being able to choose their own kind of coffee! We're in a church small group that meets in the evening and most of those people prefer decaf at that hour - no problem! We have an assortment of decaf as well as flavored coffees, bold, medium and mild blends, and you can also get Hot Cocoa K-cups for the kids, and K-cup teas! We rarely go to Starbucks anymore, and we know that our Keurig has more than paid for itself already! K-cups might be 40 cents or so each, but everyone gets what they want and there's NO waste like there is with a pot of coffee that you have to dump out! Don't have a Keurig yet? What are you waiting for? Get one today from Amazon - you won't know how you ever lived without it! ""not ready" EVER - on the first try" just got my Keurig premium ( 9/27/08) and looked forward to firt cup - set up as per instruction --> did not prime, but after a while went into "not ready" blinking message - won't reset, wont power off, no buttons responding, tried manually by unplugging and replugging multiple times to no avail. the web site with no advise, very disappointed! "Great machine and service" Keurig provided a replacement of a B70 at a below market price when my B60 started to act up after 4 years. Unfortunately the B70 they sent was defective--it made awful noises and water would not flow. It was just a bad unit. Contrary to what has been written by others, the people at Keurig were prompt, courteous and efficient. They had a replacement out to me in no time along with quite a bit of coffee by way of an apology. Also, when the B70 is working properly, as the replacement has been, it is not a noisy machine at all. I like the selection of coffee and the convenience and I'm not usually looking for the kind of coffee I get with my French press. But it isn't a requirement to eliminate one just because you have the other. "I LOVE THIS COFFEE MAKER!!!" It's ridiculous how much I love the Keurig B70!! I never seemed to be able to make a small pot of consistantly good coffee. I was spending $1.93 every day at Dunkin Donuts. Since my Keurig arrived 3 weeks ago I haven't been to DD once! This coffee maker makes a great cup of piping hot coffee every time in less than a minute. My kids make hot chocolate every morning- no fuss, AND no mess! I use Green Mountain Breakfast Blend K-cups and I my estimate is that each cup costs less than 60 cents. It was worth the $$$! You won't be disappointed! "Can you worship a coffee maker? " I adore this coffee maker. No longer do I have to make a whole pot of coffee if I only want one cup. No longer do I have to have 2 coffee makers because my husband likes one kind of coffee and I like another. Everyone who comes to my house falls in love with this machine. I have saved so much money because I never go to Starbucks anymore.. notice their stock has dropped in value? That's my fault. :)

What our customer's say! "Quiet is the word", I purchased the B70 first time around in August this year, unfortunatly it was defective on arriving. I was able to get a feel for it though as it did try to go through the motions, it was extremly loud and vibrated all over the counter. Amazon was great about the return process and gave me a full refund. I almost gave up on the B70, but I saw a review that said a new B70 was coming out anytime. Well, I just got mine in, and I can say it is SO much quieter than the first model. No vibrations and hardly any sound. It also has an Iced brew mode which I haven't tried yet. So as long as the model you buy has the Iced brew mode, then expect one quiet machine! "I bought it because of the reviews. Good idea!", The Keurig B70 "Platinum" is the best coffee maker I've ever tried, and I've tried em all! I am a single guy who basically stopped drinking coffee because you can't make less than 4 cups using a standard drip coffee maker and the "single serving" makers were disappointing. I recently tried the Senseo coffee pod system and it wasn't any good. I needed to use two pods to get the coffee strong enough and then I had to wash the pod holder. With the B70, you pop in a K Cup, hit brew and in a few seconds you've got a piping hot, perfectly brewed cup of coffee. It's so good that I'd like to see someone do a blind taste test comparing K Cup coffee to the $4.00 a cup places. My money would be on the K Cups. I was surprised at how good the tea tastes! Tea is supposed to require a couple of minutes of steeping to properly release the flavors. Once again, in just a few seconds you are drinking piping hot, perfectly brewed tea. I only got one of the K Cup Hot Cocoa and it was very good. I'd like to play with the amount of water that gets added, but it was very good. Finally, I chose this Keurig machine because it has an Iced Coffee setting. This only puts 4oz of water through the machine resulting in a concentrated but small cup of hot beverage. The smaller amount of hot liquid gets diluted to the perfect strength when you add it to ice. I haven't tried making iced tea using this method, but I'm sure it would work beautifully. I read more than 150 reviews before buying this machine. If I didn't drink coffee, I still would have bought one of these. Never have I seen a product get such rave reviews. After using the machine for a couple of days, I totally agree. This is an amazing coffee maker. MYTH BUSTED - It's LOUD! I have gone through YouTube and watched videos of other Keurig machines and they do sound like their compressors make a loud buzzing sound for a few seconds. My machine is almost whisper quiet. I can hear the compressor come on when I push the "Brew" button, but it's very, very quiet. Maybe if the machine is defective it might make more noise, but mine wouldn't wake up someone sleeping in the same room. Buy this coffee maker. You will end up buying them for everyone you know. "Outstanding Product", I have had this product since February 2008. The performance is flawless. The coffee tastes the same everytime. I also purchased the carousel and the adapter so I can use my own grind I mix. The noise is so short lived, in my opinion, I do not find it a problem. I would never go back to a different coffee system. Are there some coffees I do not like? The answer is, yes. One option is to purchase samplers to see which you prefer. If you do not like the first cup of a particular mix, is it highly unlikely you will like the next cup because the delivery system is consistent. I keep a wide variety of K-cups to choose from for my husband and myself, as well as guests. The Ghirardelli hot cocoa is an excellent hot cocoa. I never have to toss out coffee because it is "old" tasting. If you find your cup of joe is a little strong for you, change your cup size "up one" from the menu bar. If there is a better price than Amazon.com, I could not find it. Even if it had been a little less elsewhere, I would have stuck with Amazon because you cannot find better customer service anywhere. "Now makes Iced Coffee too!", Moving to FL from Massachusetts where there was a DD on every corner, we had to find a good coffee maker. Well, we did even better! My husband likes flavored coffee and I prefer "regular" coffee. Instead of brewing 2 pots every morning we each get to pick our own. There are so many flavors to choose from, everyone is sure to find a favorite. We owned our B60 model for a year and just upgraded to the B70. Five of our friends/family have also purchased after seeing ours and they love it too! Now, you can brew a 4 oz. cup to make Iced Coffee with the newer model - B70 (be careful when buying -there are still older ones on the shelf). This is the coffee maker to own. It makes great coffee and looks so cool on the counter too. **Our favorites are Green Mountain--X-Bold, Nantucket Blend, Blueberry, French Vanilla, Pumpkin Spice and Lake/Lodge. "Well worth the money", I was almost put off by the price of this unit, but I took the plunge and bought it and I'm glad I did. It makes perfect coffe every time, and has the flexibility to produce exactly the cup of coffee you want at any given time. Those who say the coffee is too weak don't understand how to use the machine [see my recommendations below] and those who say it's too noisy haven't placed it properly. The pump does make a bit of sound but if you isolate the unit from hard surfaces, with underpadding for example, the noise is tamed considerably. About the strength of the coffee: It helps to understand that the K-cups themselves are portioned for a standard 6-oz coffee cup. Most people do not actually use 6-oz cups and have never made a standard measure cup of coffee. I hadn't either until I got this machine. Now I understand. If you use a 12-oz cup, you need 2 K-cups and two shots of water at 6 ounces each. Not cheap, but sure is good. You can adjust strength for taste by adjusting the amount of water. One of my sisters likes it a little weaker than standard, so she uses a single 10-oz shot of water. Comes out perfect for her. My son likes it strong, so he uses bold K-cups, one with a 6-oz shot and one with an 8-oz shot of water to make his morning coffee. I like mine kind of medium, so I use two regular K-cups (not bold), one full-caf with 6 oz and one decaf with 6 oz and I'm all set. Great coffee. You can make it any way you want from standard coffee cup to travel mug. Don't try to make a full travel mug with one K-cup unless you like it weak. One friend of mine likes it that way, though, so there really is a recipe for everyone. Let's face it, K-cups are not cheap coffee for home brew, though it is more than competitive with barista-served boutique coffee and every bit as good. But for those who can't get past the price of the K-cups, there's is a very clever little contraption, easy to use, that lets you use whatever coffee in whatever portion you like! What could be more flexible? Even with the little contraption, making coffee with this machine is much easier and tidier than using any kind of coffee pot, and the results are fantastic. I agree with the spring water recommendation unless you are lucky to live in a place where the water is additive free with no taste of its own. I buy store brand spring water by the case. It's worth it for the quality of the final product. If you care about good coffee, go the extra distance. If you use the little brew contraption that lets you use your own coffee, then the little extra cost for spring water, which you should be using anyway, isn't really a burden. If you pony up for this appliance, you probably don't care all that much about the price of coffee per cup. Besides, if you buy coffee out, this is less expensive even with two K-cups per serving and spring water. All that doesn't come to $1.39, so there's really nothing to complain about. This is not to say the machine is perfect in every way. Probably no machine is perfect in every way. It could be quieter. The reservoir could be larger. The control panel could have more buttons and adjustments, although I don't see how that really would be an improvement. You can adjust the water temp and the shot size, so what else do you really need? Get it, brew up some fine coffee and enjoy. It's quick and easy and very neat and clean. If you love coffee, you won't be sorry you got this machine. Enough said. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Prime time", I bought it for the convenience and it's been paying off. I can quickly have coffee or hot water any time I need it. Ability to switch between flavors with every cup is great. When I primed it first time per the instructions, no water came out. Turns out you may need to prime it several times before water starts flowing through. I wish the manual mentioned that. "The best coffee maker ever!", I won't go on and on about how great this machine is, but you will not be disappointed. If you share my lack of enthusiasm to make coffee in the morning and just can't get it right, this machine is for you. Even if you can make coffee, you will truly appreciate this machine. I fell in love with the vending version years ago and bought the first model that Keurig put out. When I moved to the east coast for contract work, I bought this model for my house here. You might think the kcups are a little pricey but I still think it is a machine that just cannot be rivaled with other 'pod' or one cup dispensing machines. "If you're a lazy person...", you'll love the Keurig system! Just be ready for weak coffee, loud vibrations that rattle your cupboards, and always filling a half-empty water container. We buy 'bold' coffee and are finally getting used to it (since we're lazy). I thought I could stay with my preferred 50% decaf brewing with their metal filter, but that's like doing brain surgery -- gave up -- just use the K-cups. We put the machine on a rubber mat, and put the coffee cup on a sponge, now it's just LOUD. Not LOUD LOUD :-) We should have gotten a cheaper version; turns out the programmable function only saves a couple of minutes and runs up our electric bill. And you should buy it direct from Amazon, not one of their outside vendors (had minor problems with the "Small Appliances" place). "returned", I returned it. It was broken when I received it. I was very unhappy with the return process trying to get a return # was very difficult and felt like I was imposing on the staff. I have bought many things on the site and have never had to return anything. I ended up getting one from the Keurig web site (of couse it cost a little bit more). Your welcome to call me on my cell @ 520-820-2790. "Best all time Coffee Maker & Best Customer Service", Keurig B70 Gourmet Single-Cup Home Brewing System I am completely hooked on this coffee maker and have deep admiration and respect for the Keurig company who promise EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE and stand by their word. Amazon permitted me to search for a better price than what the manufactuer offers which just completed a perfect package. The convenience of not having to dump out coffee grounds over and over during the day -- as well as the ability to always have "at the ready" any family member or guest's preferred type of coffee, tea, or chocolate is well beyond any concern of cost of the little Kcups. And it sure saves money by not having to "pick up" a favorite coffee drink at the local preferred coffee drive through! Thank you Amazon and thank you Keurig! ![]() |
