Others say...
"not what i imagine" taste like "green" cofe. and with my expresso machine does not stay creamy. i prefer the blue label, its 100 times better then this one. "Delicious Brew in Coffee Press" I purchased this product with reservations about the grind not the flavor. The flavor speaks for itself--it's just right. But, the grounds are very fine. They do slip through the filter on my Bodum coffee press. So, as long as I use a tea filter when I pour the pressed brew into my cup, I manage to filter out about 90% of the fine grounds. The flavor of the brew makes up for any of the inconveniences of having a double-filter. Definitely repurchasing this coffee. "Excellent ground coffee" Although I refuse to use any pre-ground coffee with my Rancilio Silvia, I saw a number of positive reviews for this coffee and decided to give it a try. Although pre-ground coffee is generally dry (and this was no exception), the Lavazza provided a very nice body, heart, and crema for a 25-second double-shot. I am surprised at these results, considering my previous difficulty brewing the 'perfect' shot with other, more popular whole-bean espressos (read: Starbucks). In fact, the coffee has an excellent flavor--not burnt--but this is also a medium roast, which would account for the ability to discern the actual flavor of the espresso. As other reviewers have pointed out, this coffee is not bitter, but rather mellow and smooth. I have not used this coffee in a drip coffee maker, so I cannot attest to its versatility. However, being pre-ground with a consistent flavor and excellent consistency, I would suggest having a can of this around just in case you want a quick espresso... or at least quicker than grinding the beans yourself. "Good choice for espresso at a reasonable price" I have a Francis Francis espresso machine that is used a few times a day. Lavazza makes an affordable espresso with a nice crema. I used Illy and was looking for a less expensive option. Compared to the Illy dark roast, it is more earthy, citrusy, and tangy. Smooth, but with a twist. It is not as dark a roast, which I actually prefer, but still very good. I still keep both at home depending on my mood! "Very good coffee" We really like this coffee. It's not bitter or acidic but still has a nice dark flavor.

Lavazza Italian Coffee, Caffe Espresso, 100% Premium Arabica Ground Coffee, 8-Ounce Cans (Pack of 4)
Why I buy this one ? - Case of four 8-ounce cans (total of 32 ounces) - Ground blend of 100% arabica coffee beans for making espresso - Sweet, aromatic beans from South America - Full-bodied flavor with thick crema - Roasted and packaged in Italy Special offer for you..find the cheapest! What our customer's say! "Great gourmet coffee", This is a great tasting product. Flavor is about a medium robust. I've bought this about 10x over--great product! "makes a great coup of Latte... as fine as you'll get anywhere", 1. you can expect a powder ground expresso powder to pack into your coffee maker. If you expect "ground coffee" you're wrong. Yes, the powdered coffee does flow through most coffee makers so you can expect that dark cloud in the bottom of your cup. 2. The taste is really delicious. As others cite, very smooth and flavorful (what else would you expect from an Italian company?) 3. This coffee will save you about $3.50 per day on a starbucks, unless you're really going there to meet friends or for the free wifi. Try it, you'll really like it. Cost? I bought a pack at the Friday sale (4 cans/$16) It was a really great deal! It's still a good deal at 4/$20. "The best blend I've ever tasted", This is an awesome ground coffee blend. it just tastes better than anything else. I tried so many others and I always regret I did while going back to my Lavazza-Caffe Espresso. If you really like Starbucks or Seattle's best your standards are pretty low dude. this is Italian coffee in it's best, not over-roasted as Americans are so used to, not oily or bitter as all the others but perfectly balanced with excellent crema and aroma. CHEERS! "illy killer", I used to be hopelessly devoted to ILLY Medium Grind Esspresso Roast -- until I found Lavazza at half the price! They are very comparable in taste, and although I am not an expert, frankly I can't tell the difference. (I am also a bit of a food snob, so take it for what it's worth!) At half the price of ILLY, you can afford to give it a try :-) "Unique taste", It has a pleasant smell. I really like the flavor of this ground coffee. It is not as rich as whole bean coffees, but what I really liked about it is that the taste is almost sweet. Lavazza's has a sweet smell and a slightly sweet taste to it. There is no bitterness whatsoever with this drip coffee and no acidity to it at all although it does lack a bit in body. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "Not Suitable for Moka Pots", After extensive experimentation and controlled study I have determined that the Lavazza may not be suitable for brewing in Moka Pots. The reason for this most likely is related to the consistency of the grind, which seems to be too fine to use in the pot and results in the coffee cooking and tasting unpleasant. Coffee brewed using the Lavazza resulted in a very acidic and sour tasting blend, which was replicated in a second batch to be sure. Experimentation with coarser grinds rendered much better results that could be consistently replicated. However, I imagine that the Lavazza renders spectacular results in espresso machines, as it has a very nice aroma to it and seemed quite fresh with a very fine grind. "Perfection!", When visiting Europe, I fell in love with the coffee but was unable to find anything comparable in the U.S.--until this. Espresso made with this rivals anything Starbucks or any other coffee-vendor can come up with. It's perfection! There is another coffee brand (cannot recall name)that rivals, but does not equal (in my opinion) this coffee. The other brand is quite a bit more expensive than Lavazza, and is less flavorful. Note: Be sure to get the BLACK can (a blend); a gold can version (not a blend) is inferior in flavor to the blend. "Weak espresso?", I thought that this particular coffee would be good for espresso, at least as good as the golden brick package of Lavazza D'Oro. Unfortunately, I was disappointed, because it's not a dark roast, but a medium roast, and thus produces weak espresso. I was expecting something stronger, and so it's back to Illy, Alessi, and Segafredo for me. "LavAzza Espresso", Great coffee. I first had this coffee in Italy and it is just as good delivered from Amazon. "Fair Value, but.....", Not as good as some of the other LavAzza varieties, but a FAIR value. Slowest shipping in the WORLD!!!! ![]() |
