"Don't waste your money" This item is a piece of junk!! When you seal it the airpressure is so tight that you can not release it to remove the lid. The valve malfunctioned after the 2nd use. A waste of money!!! "No Useful Life." No gurantee. Manufacturer will not stand behind product. Purchased few years ago. Product imploded upon initial test. Manual does suggest nor warn user that over pumping the pump to create the vacum can cause the plastic container to break (implode). The product itself does not offer enough resistance nor give indications when to stop extracting air to form the vacum inside to marinate the meat. Contacted manufacturer for replacement. Manufactuer refused to replace product while it was still new. Never had a chance to test product on meat. Spent over $30 (probably close to $40). I would not give this product any stars. But I'm forced to give it at least one star. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT! SAVE YOUR MONEY! No matter how favorable the reviews. If the product does not last and the manufacturer does not stand behind what it sells, the product is USELESS. "strong and robust" Great product. Strong and robust, I have had meat marinating for several days and the vacuum remains strong. Hasn't improved my cooking any, but the marinade part works great. "Quality has gone downhill" I had one of these for 4-5 years and it worked great week after week, then it cracked. After tht amount of time it was a no brainer, I was a believer and ordered a new one. It was the same model I had all those years and it ended up cracking like the 3rd time I used it. Too bad it was an excellent product at one time, but way too pricy to give another try. "Flavors the meat fast" This new larger and stronger model works even better than the discontinued one. The larger size will hold roasts and the larger pump pulls the air out faster. The marinater works great: The flavors of the marinade taste fresher and things like lemon zest really sing. It really speeds up the marinating and tenderizing process. I found the lid hard to remove because the suction was so strong, but pulling out the whole stopper helps it come right off. The container and lid are very strong and durable, so the problems of the older model have been eliminated. This Instant Marinater is a great timesaver in the home and for the outdoor BBQ.

What our customer's say! "Caution", This worked great for the first use. By the second use, the lid cracked. So it useless now, need to find a replacement lid. The vacumn doesn't work anymore. for $40 bucks, you'd think youd be able to use it more than once. "Vacu Vin Instant Marinater", This marinater does a great job in tenderizing meats, sometimes in a relatively short period. I recommend this product. "Good Pump, Mediocre Bowl Design", I had a much older marinator but it finally broke after many years, so I ordered this one. The pump has greatly improved; so much easier. But the bowl has a very stupid design. The bottom of the bowl is not level...it's "humped" whereby the middle section is raised and the area near the edges (where the bottom of the bowl meets the sides) are much lower. I don't get the reasoning behind this! So, part of the meat (the portion that's against the edge) is in the marinade, but the remaining portion of the meat (the part that's not shoved against the edge) doesn't touch the marinade unless you pour a HUGE amount of marinade in the bowl to fill up the entire bottom. Dumb design. I wish I knew this feature before I bought it, but the picture doesn't reveal this. "Pretty much works as advertised", This past summer was when I finally started getting into grilling. I had been marinating my meats in either a Tupperware or plastic bag. Then, I read about this item, so I purchased it. It seems to work just fine. I'ved used it more than 30 times. In each case I'd add the marinade to the meat, and place in the refrigerator while I go to work. I haven't had any problems with implosion, and it's easy to tell when there's enough vacuum - it get VERY hard to pump. It's well made out of thick plastic [polycarbonate?] and has plenty of room inside. Now if only I was better at choosing tasty marinades, I'd be all set. "We love the VacuVin Instant Marinater", I had to replace our old VacuVin Instant Marinater because it cracked under the pressure! This new model is bigger and stronger and it is easier to tell when I've sucked out enough air. ![]()
Read this reviews before You buy... "BUY IT ! , WE USE THEM this must be the new and improved model", The wife and i have been using the older version of this new and improved model for years. I am writing this now because I came to amazon to re-order several to replace our esisting that eventually failed after years of use, hot dishwasher cleaning etc.. I would re-order even if they had not improved the design..they are that good ! THE ONLY PROBLEM experienced with the old one was, that they would develope a crack in the bottom of the base, (again) after much use // we love their 'rapid ice' drink can and wine coolers we use them to slightly chill pinots and merlots from room temp to slightly chilled in minutes ! "A Cautionary Note", I think that when you pull "too strong" a vacuum and then put the INSTANT MARINATER into the REFRIGERATOR, the container IMPLODES. I believe what happened was that the volume of what little air was left in the Instant marinater "shrunk" due to the colder temperature of the refrigerator, increased the strength of the vacuum and that the sides of the container were not strong enough to withstand the forces. Or maybe it was because there were some scratches on the surface of the container that was enough to sufficiently weaken the container wall. I was cleaning the item with a soft sponge and non-abrasive liquid dishwashing soap.Before this incident, I had done the same as above (meat into Instant Marinader, pulled vacuum and put in refrigerator) without any problems. I think this item has a nice concept, but that the materials could have been stronger. Another idea would be to have some sort of mechanism to prevent "too strong" of a vacuum pull.
