This is a great product. It's got all the adjustments you could want for different thicknesses. It has safety features. Folds to store. Glad we got it.

"Amazing Mandoline Bargain"
The Zyliss Folding Mandoline slicer is absolutely first rate. I was very easily able to slice a ripe tomatoe into uniform ROUND slices on setting #2 which is less than 3 mm in thickness. My first item I sliced was an onion and although the setting was at the #2 position the onion was quite large and I just felt like I was sliding it up and down and there was no friction so I thought nothing was happening. I lifted up the mandoline and there were several perfectly sliced onion pieces. I was fortunate to get this in a grocery store where it was reduced in price but seeing the performance now I would not hesitate to pay double the amount.
What makes it even better is that the Zyliss company has a 5 year guarantee on the unit so if it develops a problem, all you need to do is send it back and they will send you a new one !

The only negative that I can see is that the french fry cutting blades are of a larger size and there is no smaller options if you want to make shoestring potatoes. In any event, this is an excellent slicer that is backed by a powerful guarantee.




"Does the job"
First of all I want to say that I have no other experience w/ this type of a product. Trying to use the julienne blades to cut french fries takes some upperbody strength and I felt like the base was flexing when I tried to push down on the potato. But I have also used it to slice yellow squash and zucchini and it works like a dream. I love that everything is uniform in thickness which makes it easy to cook evenly. Also a big advantage is tossing it in the dishwasher for clean up & being able to fold it away to store.

"Indespensible tool for the rare occasion I use it"
I thought this was going to be used every day, but now its more like once a month. Since I have a food processor for big jobs the only thing this does it make really thinly sliced onions. It does it well and is nicely compact. Also made sweet potato fries with it. Its really difficult to shove a sweet potato through one of these, but it worked. Its great at what it does, if using spherical veggies, but on longer things like squash you have to use a food processor or cut by hand.

"Zyliss Easy Slice"
I love the way the Zyliss Easy Slice works for me. I'm sight impaired and risk slicing my fingers with a knife. This has made it easier to get perfect slices with out worring about cutting my self.
